The U.S. Senate changed its dress code for members (but not staff) this past week, specifically so Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) can wear gym shorts and a hoodie on the Senate floor. What do you think of this?

Fetterman’s total lack of respect for the office he holds shows in his choice of dress. What is more concerning is Schumer’s reply to let him continue to do this. How did this idiot go from a mayor of a town of 1700 people to Lt. Gov. of Pennsylvania to Senator? Another example of the Dems caring nothing for the America they say the represent and continue to take the country down the toilet. Disgusting.

It is an honor to be elected to offices of our the Federal government. Sen. John Fetterman dressing this way shows he does not have respect for the office he holds, the United States Government or the people he serves.

What in Gods name happened to the real men of this country? Schumer and his pansies have feminized our federal offices. Who’s watching our backs? The pansies generals, worried more about skin color and slaughtering the unborn than there JOB. Worst leadership and administration ever recorded, I’m sure climate change is to blame!

Uncle Festerman is a clown, a disgrace and another incompetent loser who took the page out of Biden’s cheating scam playbook to get elected. And, for the Senate Republican to allow this walking tragedy to set the dress code is also a disgrace!

Fetterman’s disregard for the decorum in the senate only proves his dislike of us. When teachers started to dress like this, respect from their students followed. Respect for the senate, especially by changing their rules for this show their disrespect for us also.

Typical of the U.S. today. One person’s beliefs/desires supersedes all other’s beliefs/desires. Fetterman’s a sham and a disgrace.

It used to be that our senators and congressmen served the will of the people, now they serve themselves and their political party.

It is ridiculous to see him in shorts & a sweatshirt continually!! I’m from PA & I’m embarrassed to see him represent my state.

This guy is a disgrace to our institution of government. Not only is he an embarrassment physically (in dress), he is clearly “off”, from a mental perspective. “The tolerance of bad behavior is the downfall of civilized society”.

When our school dropped its dress code; behavior nose dived. Don’t know if there is a connection but Mom always said if you dress like a bum, you act like one.

They are not school children. They are adults conduction the affairs of the nation and should dress accordingly. Look what has happened to public schools. We wore pants and shirts to school, girls wore dresses back in the 50s. Now they dress like pigs! Is that what we want our congress to look like?

Easy fix, Republicans should start wearing Trump t-shirts. Suits will be the rule in no time.

This is both a horrible decision which “dumbs down” America even further with lowering standards, and too, an absolute distraction from the much needed work in the Senate that is not getting done. Shame o the Pennsylvania electorate who put this guy in his position. He was a state-embarrassment, now he’s a national embarrassment.

This is no surprise. The Democrats have been marginalizing our institutions for years – they finally got around to the Senate. It is remarkable that Schumer has time for this nonsense, but he can’t get around to passing the appropriations bills already passed by the House. Pennsylvania is pathetic.

Why would anyone be surprised ? Schumer and the Democrats always seem to sink to the lowest common denominator. If Fetterman is qualified to serve in the senate, he’s qualified to observe the proper customs. Sadly, Schumer is a coward while Fetterman is a clown.

The way Fetterman dresses should embarras his constituents and actually is a reflection of the kind of people that they are. In other words, Fetterman has no regard for his responsibility to represent the people of his state in a respectable way. This extends to country other members of Congress.

With any consideration of the Pennsylvania voters, John Fetterman does NOT belong in the US Senate! Period! The US Senate is NOT the proper place to be recovering from such as devastating health occurrence. I applaud his progress, but he should be taking on tasks slowly, but such is the nature of the dumo-ratic party that they would elect such an individual, like Biddy Biden also. They are guilty of elder abuse and possibly other charges for the security and welfare of the nation!

The first choice, “The Senate can do what it wants. It doesn’t really affect my life.” Really? The problem is, the wealthy elite feudal Senate/Congress is affecting everyone’s life because they are doing what THEY WANT and NOT doing what the Constitution says, REPRESENTING the will of the populist majority! Fetterman could show up in a Donald duck costume or the most expensive pin striped tux, which would be an improvement, and still not care to do his Constitutional duty and job.

To say they have relaxed the dress code is an understatement. They in affect don’t have a dress code. Now they can go barefoot, shorts, hoodies. No dress code,no border,no taxes !

As America sinks into the abyss, this latest stunt to appease Lurch, the cartoon clown pretending to be a U.S. Senator, simply amounts to cultural and social lawlessness. Like the southern border, it is a form of anarchy when we have no standards, no ‘stinkin’ laws, and anything goes. Unbelievable!!!

Being a boomer it was always imprinted in every school, job and every career interaction that I had to look professional and you will receive respect. Today taxpayers have very near zero respect for Congress and our federal government. The LAST THING Congress needs to do is diminish that respect even more by “kissing the boots” of liberals out to destroy America. Agree with the comment below, enough of effeminate men, time for real men to step forward and be men again. Stop listening to the “noise from the left” and do something, for not just conservatives of substance, but our younger generations and remaining Americans who genuinely care about our failing country.

Senator Fetterman has no business being a United States Senator. He like the President has a mental problem or he would not be dressing like a hoodlum on the Senate floor. I guess now it will be O K for a Senator to show up in a tee shirt and speedo and that will be alright. These people are supposed to be business people not juveniles in grade school.

If the Capitol Building is “the peoples’ house” and the Senate is one half of the electoral body residing in this building, Fetterman’s behavior and Schumer’s recent institutional dress code change represents the esteem by which “we the people” are held. This is simply bringing written policy in line with the action demonstration by our august leaders. Little men full of pomposity leading a once great American culture into the dustbin of history to join other once great empires. Man plans but God ordains.

Yet another example of the joke the US government has become. Total disrespect for the office. It no wonder that Russia has invaded Ukraine, and China is ready to invade Taiwan. If this is the most pressing issue they have, then we are all screwed.

So, this only occurred to please & accommodate that half-brain, Fetterman. Why? The way I see it, the Progressive-Socialists will do anything to keep functional morons in high places that can be manipulated to do the will of the Real people running the govt..

I think the dress code should prison orange or stripes. The suit has become the dress code for high level corruption. That’s probably the real reason for the change. LOL

Sharp looking Business Casual isn’t the end of the world; but anything less than that makes it seem like the job is unimportant and not worth the effort. To call not wearing a suit & tie a travesty is a bit much, I think, though I do understand the preference of tradition business dress attire by some. Gym shorts and a hoodie should definitely not be allowed – Right up there with wearing pajamas.

Of course this generation will overwhelmingly vote that this is a disgrace. Most of us have a closet full of suits, sport coats, dress shoes and heels. This needs to be maintained in the professional world. Just like wearing a uniform in school, it puts your mind and body into the correct mode for a successful day.

The office holds the esteem of providing them with the title “Honrable” prefix before there name. Respect is earned through actions and deeds, Fettermans choice to carry on like a baffoon disrepects the title and office. If he doesnt want to dress for work the place him on the unemployment line.
