Thank you for taking the time to voice your concerns regarding the Turning Point USA event, The People’s Convention, scheduled to take place in Detroit, Michigan from June 14-16, 2024. We greatly appreciate your feedback and want to assure you that we value the perspectives of our members.
While we understand the event’s location may not be ideal for everyone, we want to emphasize that although we did not choose the location, our decision to co-sponsor the event was driven by our commitment to reaching as many communities as possible, including those in critical states like Michigan. We recognize the significance of Michigan in the upcoming election and believe it’s crucial to share our beliefs and views across the spectrum of states, including blue and swing states.
Your support means a lot to us, and we are dedicated to representing your values effectively in every corner of the country. We understand the importance of standing by our members, especially in areas where our presence might feel more challenging. We also understand that some might have security concerns, and Turning Point will have a large security presence at the event.
Thank you once again for sharing your thoughts with us. Your continued support fuels our efforts to provide the best representation possible for our shared beliefs.

Drive through Detroit, let alone stay there for two+ days? HAIL NO!!!. I don’t want my truck vandalized, stripped, or stolen, And I don’t want to get highjacked, assaulted, robbed, mugged, knifed, beat up, shot or murdered. Nor do I want to be arrested for defending myself by blowing away any punks that would attempt any of the above.

I’m a home body person! Big time country boy, who hates the big cities! Dementia joe has this state struggling with no jobs, teaching you can be turned into a girl, or girl turned into a man. I see things I never thought I would see in my 68 years of being on this rock! When I must fill out forms to see any doctor, what gender am I, lol! I write in a **** man!
I never voted for a communist democrat in my lifetime! Voted Trump! Worked since I was twelve years old and thanks to dementia joe. Shut my small business down, take care of my 91 year old mother, still living and does for herself, she is a old time democrat who left them and vote Republican now! Sorry for the rant!

18 May 2024 – Statistically, Detroit has a very high crime rate. One has a 1 in 49 probability of being a crime victim there. For example, Detroit’s assault crime is 294% higher than the state average. It makes no sense to host a forum there.

It’s not the event I don’t want to attend. It’s the city that’s the problem. I pretty much avoid all big cities at this point in my life.

Why would you pick Detroit? It one of the most crime ridden and liberal places in the US. Why not have it in a red state, where people feel safer and you won’t be attacked for attending?

I’m not to far, but……why Detroit! I live in Michigan and refuse to go anywhere near Detroit!
Actually, cities that defund the police or police response is slow (or no police) I refuse to go to that city.
Don’t understand, a red event held in a dark blue city!

From the 14th-16th means a stay over in Whitmers fantasy land. I’d have to worry if my car would be there in the morning. Change the location, I might.

I would consider going to something like this but not if it’s in a Blue state & city. First because I don’t want to reward their ignorance by spending money there and second because I don’t believe it’s a safe place to be.
Why would you choose a Blue state for this event? Florida would have been a much better choice, nice weather, safer cities and nicer people.

With all the unrest in all the cities, it is dangerous to go to any of them. Being a Seasoned Citizen I’m not interested in getting beaten up, robbed, or any dangerous thing. I thought the question was dumb to begin with.

Who, in their right mind, would want to go to a Big Blue City for anything? What’s wrong with AMAC and TPUSA? Whose decision was it to go there and expect anyone with a lick of sense to attend?

I think most of us are having a hard time figuring out why such a place would be chosen to hold an event such as this. I don’t think any of us wants to spend our hard earned $ to support the economy of a place that basically hates our country. Maybe we should consider holding it in Russia or China, better yet how about Cuba, a tropical paradice that is only 90 miles off our souther coast???

Not even for this event.

I live in Michigan and won’t attend. I suspect there will still be a good turn out simply for Trump alone. Detroit is landfill which the left keeps dumping money into. At the end of the day, it’s still a landfill with a paint job. Whitmer, that’s her stomping grounds which should be interesting to see how welcome this event truly is. I suspect a strong contingent from white suburbanites will attend. Will see if there’s protests from the Soro’s paid agitators.

I don’t travel, even avoid guilt trips, lol. I’m interested in what is said there, so will listen to reports, but I can’t tolerate crowds or cities or flying. Plus there are better ways to spend what little money I have.

Phuct Detroit MI! Is this another group of Conservatives getting together for self gratification? I am more interested in taking the resources wasted there and using them to secure the elections. There is no sure thing in life and the election is not a guarantee for the MAGA movement. We need to see results from the Conservatives at all levels and this Congress has almost slit their own throats this legislative session and there is still time to bleed out. So, focus on securing the vote!!!!

Needs to be offered as a remote event via Internet conference. Neither me or anyone else I know can afford to attend due to costs, family and/or work obligations. Could have picked a better location.

Airfare, hotel, food, incidentals would add up to well more than $1k for a couple. You are going to end up with a conference full of people that have a significant amount of disposable income, which now that I think about it, is likely the objective. I can imagine a conga line campaign barkers trolling for contributions. “Hey Rube!”
