The Bret Baier Fox News interview with Kamala Harris finally revealed Harris for what she is: a Post Turtle.
Hear me out. The long-standing political description compares a person in a particular position to a turtle found on top of a post. You know the turtle did not get there by herself, is unable to function in that position, and simply doesn’t belong there. It also creates a compelling interest in finding out who put that turtle on that post in the first place.
We pretty much know how Harris got into her extraordinary position, but that only makes our situation worse because it wasn’t just some random person. A major political party decided that this was just fine if it gets them what they want. There are clearly monumental problems if Harris wins the race, but the damage that is done in the process that led us to this point in the first place is gobsmacking.
At some point, after giving someone all the benefits of the doubt, people accept reality. They believe what it is they’re seeing and hearing no matter the insistence by legacy media that we should not trust our lying eyes. No matter the spin and gaslighting, Harris’s interview with Baier, when assessed by history, will be considered the moment of no return for the first Democrat nominee stuck on a post.
After enjoying a slight lead over Donald Trump, the Harris camp suddenly saw their numbers dwindle as Trump caught up and took the lead in the swing states. Realizing that the basement campaign was no longer working, suddenly the woman who thought she could fake her way into the White House was feigning to do interviews. She sat down with CBS, The View, Howard Stern, and a podcast titled “Call Her Daddy.” The interviews were obviously supportive or, in the CBS case, infamously edited to help the candidate appear coherent.
Then, surprisingly, it was announced she would be sitting down for her first interview with Fox News. Bret Baier would lead the conversation. After clearly having made a commitment to say and do as little as possible believing that the legacy media and the system would usher her into the White House just as they made her the nominee, something has gone terribly bad for them. So bad that she was willing to sit down with Fox News.
Being an eternal optimist, I believed that Harris would suddenly appear on Bret Baier as a functional, coherent person, with ideas and a vision. I was wrong. Harris was even more awful than I imagined was possible. Her goal was to filibuster Bret, not answer any questions, and blame Trump for everything.
Harris and her team arrived late to the taped interview which was done just before Baier’s live program. Baier was persistent, cool, and collected. Harris was not. The interview was such a catastrophe for her that her team in the studio began to insist it end, a fact revealed by Baier in a post-interview exchange with his panel.
David Sacks, a Silicon Valley entrepreneur and supporter of Donald Trump, calls Harris’s current situation a “doom loop.” Her polling is suffering because she was avoiding interviews because she’s so bad at them, forcing her to come out of the basement to do the interviews which makes things worse for her.
There are a multitude of stories about exactly what went wrong for her. The word salads, refusal to answer questions directly, her general confusion which often would evolve into anger and agitation. All of this prompted the satirical website The Babylon Bee’s headline “Harris Complains She Was Not Informed The Interview Would Include Questions.”
Exactly how vapid, evasive, and dumb were her answers? Consider this gem:
Baier: “In 2019, you supported allowing illegals to apply for drivers’ licenses, qualify for free tuition at universities, and get free healthcare. Do you still support those things?”
KAMALA: “That was five years ago…”
What exactly does it mean to explain or defend or reject a position you took on a serious issue by noting that it was five years ago? Is she implying that because time has passed she doesn’t believe in that anymore? Is she suggesting that she was a clueless child 5 years ago? None of it makes sense, a sentiment that is relevant to the way she responded to Baier’s questions.
Her entire approach has exposed the sniveling derision and contempt with which she holds us. Normally avoided by candidates, throughout these few months Harris’s goal has been to be as empty a suit as possible.
Now and then, there’s a singular moment in a presidential campaign that defines so distinctly that the campaign is effectively over. Harris is the latest presidential candidate to experience that.
Who can forget 1988, Michael Dukakis in his helmet in a tank? It became an iconic moment that he could not escape. To this day it stands as an avatar for that failed campaign.
Earlier this year, Joe Biden failed so dramatically in his performance during his one debate with Donald Trump, that the Democrats pulled him as the candidate. Trump won the race that night, and the Democrats knew it. So they decided to throw Biden under the bus.
For Walter Mondale, the moment occurred in his second 1984 debate with President Ronald Reagan. Fighting a whisper campaign about his advancing age, Reagan uttered the unforgettable line that he would “not hold his opponent’s youth and inexperience against him.” Laughter bellowed from the audience and Mondale himself. He told a reporter years later that he knew the moment he stepped off that stage that his campaign was over.
With the media’s aid, and not having to perform throughout a primary season, Kamala Harris enjoyed the stunned reaction by voters to being swapped in as the nominee. Americans love a good story and we love underdogs, but we also love our families and our country. Most of us may be regular, working-class people, but we’re not stupid. The longer Harris plays word games and refuses to be serious about the issues, the more it appears she is hiding something.
No matter the Kamala interview or appearance, the dance to evade and distract is the same. To see a woman who is running for president be so publicly revealed as a vacuous fraud is frightening and depressing. A few times during the Baier interview, you can see the panic alight in Harris’s face when asked a question that was basic, predictable, and obvious in its necessity. The fact that she has been elevated to such a powerful and remarkable position is a stunning indictment of just how corrupt and broken our system has truly become.

The FOX interview didn’t highlight anything new, contrary to what the author of this article might think. Harris didn’t say or act much differently from any of the other so-called interviews she’s done since being anointed the Democrat candidate for POTUS a few months back. She spewed nonsense and incoherent word salad for about 25 minutes and then ran off, because she can’t tell the public what she and the Democrat Party honestly plan to do if she and Walz are ever installed in the Oval Office.
After all, she can’t very admit that she and the Democrat Party plan to quickly neutralize the Supreme Court by packing it with several more committed leftists like Brown or Sotomayor. Thus, turning the SC into a rubber stamp for the left. Nor can she talk about the Democrat plan to get rid of the Senate filibuster and admit both the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico as two new states with four brand new Democrat Senators plus additional House members. All of the Democrat agenda is about a massive power grab and consolidating Democrat control of the country for perpetuity. So, the only option for her is the nonsense she is already doing.
What was actually different from all the other interviews was that the interviewer WASN’T already in the tank for the candidate and was willing to ask the sort of questions that ALL of the so-called interviewers should have been asking both Biden and Harris for the last 3 1/2 years. That it took months after Kamala was anointed as Biden’s replacement to agree to even speak with anyone from the media that is NOT a shill for the Democrat Party is the real story. That the American people have stood for this sort of nonsense from the MSM and the Democrat Party for well over four years, going all the way back to allowing Old Joe, the dementia patient, to run a carefully choreographed campaign for POTUS from his basement in 2019 right up through his time in the White House, is the real tragedy for the United States and the rest of the world. Harris is merely an extension of the same game plan by the left. So much needless pain, death and destruction could have been avoided over the last 3 1/2 years if only the American people had not stood for this. We truly do live in interesting times and that of course isn’t a compliment.
No matter what, vote for Trump, because the alternative under Harris / Walz will be far worse than anything you’ve experienced under Biden / Harris.
