WASHINGTON DC, Feb 16 – Once again Rebecca Weber, CEO of the Association of Mature American Citizens, says she and her team will bring senior issues to the 2024 Conservative Political Action Conference [CPAC] to be held Feb. 21-24 in National Harbor, Md., just outside Washington, D.C. And she’ll be streaming interviews from CPAC on her AMAC’s Better for America podcast.

“CPAC is an opportunity for AMAC to promote legislative initiatives that strengthen our nation, our association’s membership and American citizens, at large, in the quest for solutions to the challenges of the 21st century. We have hope and have committed ourselves to the enhancement of the American way of life, despite the challenges from politicos who are determined to upend our nation,” says Weber. “We’ve come a long way in the less than two decades since AMAC came into being. In that short span of time, we have proven that the senior conservative movement is integral to saving our country. Our nation’s elders have an important role to play in the future of America in the coming years and decades.”

Weber noted that America’s seniors are a powerful force. She pointed out that Harvard University tells us that “34 percent of the US population is aged 50 and over, and their numbers are rising rapidly with the aging of the baby-boom generation.” Meanwhile, she explained, growing numbers of young adults are becoming politically conservative.

In fact, she noted, “a Gallup survey last summer found that more Americans this year (38%) say they are very conservative or conservative on social issues than said so in 2022 (33%) and 2021 (30%). At the same time, the percentage saying their social views are very liberal or liberal has dipped to 29% from 34% in each of the past two years, while the portion identifying as moderate (31%) remains near a third. The last time this many Americans said they were socially conservative was 2012, during a period when consistently more U.S. adults identified as conservative rather than liberal on social issues.”

Donald Trump will attend this year’s CPAC gathering, say those in the know. As the organization chairman, Matt Schlapp, tells us “CPAC is not neutral on Donald Trump. We’re all in.” In fact, Schlapp predicts that he “is going to break the records and come to CPAC for his fourteenth appearance.” Weber says that “it’ll be the highlight of this year’s gathering.”

John Grimaldi served on the first non-partisan communications department in the New York State Assembly and is a founding member of the Board of Directors of Priva Technologies, Inc. He has served for more than thirty years as a Trustee of Daytop Village Foundation, which oversees a worldwide drug rehabilitation network.

Elderly Low income people now have to wait for an opening with subsidized housing. Because of this, we are forced to live in our cars or outside in a homeless area! The social security checks never give more to already Low income and with inflation, it’s put the Low income into a crisis situation for sure. We need a substantial increase to help pay with our needs to survive.

An unfriendly reminder to the Republicans: I am a right-leaning independent living in GA and voted Red in 2020. This year, I am voting Blue across the board. Don’t cry when the results come in. The Republicans did it to themselves. Failing to realize the most important moments in our history how the Global Order is being reshaped they delayed aid to Ukraine. As a results, the Dictators are getting emboldened, our potential friends are looking to move away from us. This, in turn, undermines the Global, American-Led order and will lead to the loss of the Dollar hegemony. When this happens, our standard of living will decline dramatically. The fault primarily lies in the Republicans. And oh, the voters decided to nominate Trump? Ok, cool. Watch the Independents deliver the blow in November.

I might consider AMAC again if it shows support to my conservative values.

President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky meet in the Oval Office at the White House on February 28, 2025 in Washington, DC. Trump and Zelensky are meeting today to negotiate a preliminary agreement on sharing Ukraine’s mineral resources that Trump says will allow America to recoup aid provided to Kyiv while supporting Ukraine’s economy.
WASHINGTON, DC - FEBRUARY 26: Demonstrators, some of them former PEPFAR and USAID employees, protest to demand that Congress stand up to President Donald Trump and Elon Musk's "Department of Government Efficiency" and reinstate lifesaving programs in the Cannon House Office Building on Capitol Hill on February 26, 2025 in Washington, DC. Organized by ActUp's Health Global Access Project, the protesters temporarily occupied the floor of the rotunda before U.S. Capitol Police arrested 21 of the demonstrators. COXSACKIE, GREENE, NEW YORK - FEBRUARY 28: New York correctional officers and sergeants continue their strike for a second week outside of the Coxsackie Correctional Facility on February 28, 2025 in Coxsackie, Greene, New York. The prison workers say they want to roll back the 2022 HALT Act, which has reduced solitary confinement because it caused assaults on them to rise. While it's unclear if the strike has played a role, two more New York inmates have died during an ongoing strike. The Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) has presented a tentative agreement to the New York State Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association (NYSCOPBA) to end the ongoing strike, but many guards say their demands have not been met and they won't show up to work on Saturday.
