The legacy media have a preset narrative machine when it comes to mass shootings. That narrative machine takes into account the identities of the shooter and the victims, and then churns out an explanation for the shooting. White shooter, black victims: systemic racism. Black shooter, white victims: alienation caused by systemic racism. Muslim shooter, gay victims: Christian homophobia.
On Monday, a self-identified 28-year-old trans man shot up a Christian school in Nashville, killing three children and three adults. The shooter left a manifesto, which police said reeked of “resentment.” And so this week, we are learning what pops up in the narrative machine when the inputs are “trans man” and “Christian schoolchildren.”
And here’s what pops up: America is systemically cruel to trans people, who apparently cannot be blamed for losing control and targeting small children at Christian schools. A hate crime by a trans-identifying person against a religious group is immediately transmuted into a generalized societal crime against the mass shooter herself. Thus, NBC contributor Benjamin Ryan tweeted, “NBC has ID’d the Nashville school shooter…Nashville is home to the Daily Wire, a hub of anti-trans activity by @MattWalshBlog, @BenShapiro and @MichaelJKnowles.” Newsweek tweeted a story titled, “Tennessee Republicans’ ban on drag shows criticized after mass shooting.” ABC News correspondent Terry Moran stated that the shooter “identified herself as a transgender person. The State of Tennessee earlier this month passed and the governor signed a bill that banned transgender medical care for minors…”
In the perverse world of Leftist victimology, this makes sense: If you are a member of a supposedly victimized group, you cannot be the victimizer; there must be another victimizer who has victimized you, turning you back into a victim.
But if we truly wish to prevent future acts of violence by unhinged lunatics, we ought to utilize a lens other than the lie of victimhood. Instead, we ought to consider the possibility that it is dangerous to promote the idea that mentally ill people ought to be celebrated as political groundbreakers by the legacy media for their symptoms, and simultaneously told that their suicidal ideations are caused by the intolerance of a broader society. According to a recent 2022 study, “Transgender and gender-diverse youth emerge as the group at the highest risk of support for violent radicalization.” Teaching trans-identifying people that their suffering is caused by a cruelly religious and patriarchal world, explaining that these forces put their very lives in danger – that, indeed, they are victims of a potential “genocide” – creates an incredibly dangerous ideological predicate for violent action.
But the legacy media, by and large, support that narrative. To admit the obvious – that men cannot be women and vice versa; that believing you were born “in the wrong body” is a mental disorder, not a weapon to be used in tearing down an unjust society; that high rates of depression and suicidal ideation among those who identify as transgender is not caused predominantly by societal intolerance but by the disorder itself – undermines the new civil rights crusade the Left has built, directed against traditional roles and institutions.
And so the new narrative must be maintained. A woman who shot to death six people including three children in cold blood must be recast as a victim of society. We must respect “his” pronouns even as we report “his” murders. We must blame those who truly cause pain in the world: those who disagree with the thought leaders in our legacy media, who know better than all the common sense, biology and tradition in the world.

The problem is the guns. In every other industrialized nation there are more gun restrictions or even bans and there are fewer shootings. Every shooting was done with a gun. The would be no shootings if there were no guns.
The solution is to ban, confiscate, and destroy all guns and ammo.

With the introduction of Sex Education in our public school system at early ages for children, the progressive left has caused severe mental disorders in our kids. They take these impressionable kids who are either male or female and confuse the hell out of them! As far as this mass shooting goes we should be looking at the crime itself and how it was handled. Violence is only going to keep escalating with this leftist insanity! I have gay friends that have told me that Sodom and Gomorrah were not destroyed because of sexuality in the those cities. They told me it was because of the violence in those cities. I reminded them that the sexual deviancy escalated into violence and that’s when God acted! The same is happening here. If one cannot look down while taking a shower and not be able to identify one’s sex, the problem is not what is between the legs but what is between the ears. No one should be surprised when this mental illness, which claims fully half of their number in suicides each year, should want to take others with them. My curiosity concerns what the narrative will be when a trans blows up a trans club – who would be blamed then?

Apparently the shooter bought his guns at licensed gun dealers legally. When guns are sold that way the buyer must fill out a form 4473. This form is then used to call for government approval. I suggest that a line item be added to that form. A question: Has the buyer undergone or self-identified as a sex other than his/her birth gender? If answered “No’ Nothing further is done. If the buyer checks “Yes” he/she will have to provide a licensed Psycologist or Psychiatrist letter that the buyer is of sound mind.
Obviously, persons who think they can change their sex are crazy by definition. Of course criminals will always find a way to get a gun.

Great article. It’s a very difficult problem, dealing with mentally ill people when the sanitariums no longer exist. I guess they were shut down because people weren’t always treated well by staff. Now many are homeless and live on the streets. Its a bigger problem than the human race can handle.

What we are witnessing is the gradual corruption of the natural order by those who are in rebellion against God and His creation. It has been ongoing ever since Satan rebelled against God and sought to usurp the position God assigned to human-kind, that we were made in the image and likeness of God and were on a level ABOVE the angels. Satan has been attempting to corrupt the natural order and it is growing into a crescendo in these last days. Humans have been given a free will to decide for themselves how they wish to live. However, that does not give them the right to impose their wills on others. Neither can one expect another to read their minds to know innately how they perceive themselves. It used to be what you did in the privacy of your own bedroom between consenting ADULTS was none of my business. However, now people want their sexual acts to be not only tolerated, but affirmed, and even celebrated. They also want access to our children so they can attempt to warp their minds, without interference from their parents, the law, religion, or the government. Certain things in life happen because of the nature of being born. You might be born Black, White, Oriental, Latino, etc. At birth, you are either born equipped as either a male or a female. It is completely wrong for anyone to be mistreated in any way over the nature of their birth. Behavior of that individual, however, is a completely different thing. Behaviors are chosen by the individual and how you behave can and does affect others and therefore in many instances certain behaviors need to be regulated. One cannot be allowed to go around killing others because they did not know your chosen pronouns. You also do not have the right to access to children simply because you choose to behave with inappropriate sexual behaviors in their presence. The children are not old enough to be able to make life altering decisions, just like they are not mature enough to vote for the leaders of the country. Of course, these days it appears that some feel the adults do not have the right to vote for who they want to run the country, but that is a discussion for another time.
Allow teachers to arm themselves, bolster school security, take away the gun free zone law, these cowards know no one has a gun at school unless they have armed security there, and have nothing to fear until the Police show up. We know Transgenderism is a mental disorder, they should have to pass a psychiatric screening to purchase a gun. Why isn’t this being called a hate crime? It clearly is. Why haven’t we seen her manifesto that describes why she did it? My guess is it would reveal she hates Christians, because they won’t go along with her fantasy of changing her gender.
