Race Matching and Other Crazy Theories Destroying Our Schools

Gov. Ron DeSantis nails it when he demands that teachers “educate children, not indoctrinate.”

As schools reopen, a war is raging to control the minds of students.

On one side, the nation’s largest teachers unions are pushing race consciousness, demonization of American history and graphic sex education, even in elementary school.

On the other side, irate parents are battling the indoctrinators. They’re insisting teachers stick to math, science, reading skills and what everyone can agree are the facts about history.

Teachers and left-wing allies are demanding that kids have safe spaces reserved for each minority group or gender. All kids deserve respect and safety from bullying. But what’s missing right now is safety from propaganda. Schools should be made into safe spaces for learning, shielded from political brainwashing.

As the school year begins, teachers should be told to scrub their classrooms of Black Lives Matter logos, rainbow flags, “Believe Women” signs and other slogans. Reserve the blackboards for ABCs, multiplication tables and historical timelines.

The Carroll County Board of Education in Maryland voted in June to ban political slogans and symbols in the classrooms, other than the Stars and Stripes and state and county flags. “Our students are a captive audience,” explained one board member, “and as such need to be protected from all political agendas, both from the right and the left.”

Last week, the Kettle Moraine School Board in Wisconsin did the same. It should be the approach everywhere.

The tougher challenge is scrubbing the curriculum, which is largely determined by the teachers unions, with input from leftist groups such as the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network and the American Civil Liberties Union.

State legislatures in Florida, Virginia, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi and Oklahoma passed 12 bills in 2021, and another seven so far this year, to limit what teachers introduce in the classroom. Over 100 more bills are in the works around the country. Most resemble Florida’s new Stop WOKE Act. They bar discussions of sexuality and gender in K-3 grades, and limit sex education topics in the later grades to what parents approve. The bills also bar critical race theory themes including labeling white people as oppressors and Black people as victims.

Leftist groups such as the ACLU and Pen America decry these laws as “gag orders” that threaten to destroy “open inquiry.” Nonsense. These new laws don’t gag anyone from discussing sex, gender or race in public. They protect children from being force-fed racially divisive and sexualized materials.

A third-grade reading circle is not a public square. The children have no choice but to be there and are too young to pick and choose what they believe.

Children who have been told there’s a Santa Claus and believe it are also likely to believe a teacher who tells them they can be pansexual or nonbinary, or that a child with a boy’s body parts can be a girl.

Parents want control over what their children are taught, especially about sensitive topics. But even if you’re not a parent, the stakes are high. Society can’t prosper when young people enter the workforce lacking skills, filled with animus toward their country and unprepared to function at work and in civic life.

The two biggest teachers unions — the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers — are pushing racial division. A new Minneapolis union contract specifies that when layoffs are needed, white teachers will get axed before nonwhite teachers with the same seniority, to increase the chances nonwhite students have a nonwhite teacher. Citing left-wing pedagogy that encourages “race matching,” defenders of the contract claim Black students learn better with Black teachers.

The contract violates the rights of white teachers, but it’s also unjust to students of color. Race matching doesn’t prepare them for the real world any more than labeling them victims does. What employer can deal with new hires who need “safe spaces” and a boss whose race matches their own? Students raised to expect these things will be doomed, and our nation will be, too.

Schools are no place for political propaganda, whether right or left. CRT does nothing except turn the races against each other. Slavery was a horrible thing, but I wasn’t there. I will answer to God for what I do, not for what my ancestors did. And when I was in school, I benefited from some wonderful teachers, both black and white. I didn’t care what race they were, only that they were good teachers.

If parents were smart they would pull ALL their kids out of school and NOT PAY any Taxes that goes to ANY school that teaches INDOCTRINATION Lies to children.
The Department of DUHMACATION IS ENDANGERING YOUR CHILD’S LIFE and CAREER.
Not to mention, YOU are allowing YOUR CHILDREN to be used as political tools against YOU and themselves for FASCIST liberals political agenda.
Think about it for a moment.
Other countries are passing our children up in education.
While our children are political pawns so the FASCIST liberals can completely CONTROL our children to Vote for only their FASCIST liberals Party.
Doesn’t take a genius to figure it out.

I just watched a video where (adult) people interviewed didn’t know how many stars were on our flag, the meaning of them or what the stripes signified, but knew all the Kardashians names.
Their teachers would be so proud. I wonder if Joe would know?

If you as a parent are unwilling to make the sacrifices to remove your child from these schools, you absolutely deserve the consequences.

The NEA has been doing this race baiting nonsense for decades. When I was a new teacher in the 80s my decision to escape the NEA (a two year process at that time) was triggered by an article in their magazine that extolled the virtues of Indian kids being segregated for education. I’d already lived through the sixties when we finally got rid of segregation and wasn’t about to support a return to that nonsense. And yes, I did say Indian. As long as we have the bureau of Indian affairs and the health clinics are Indian health clinics, I’ll say Indian if I want to. I’m sick of being controlled through vocabulary as well. Kids are woefully uneducated in our society and there’s no excuse for it except we’re busy turning them into useless little social activists in the public schools and most of the private ones, too. It has to stop if we want any productive people left in this country to financial support the ancient, rotting political class.
Needless to say, I’m disgusted by the whole mess. Thanks for letting me vent.

The left labels all white American citizens as CRT proponents and in actuality there the biggest spreader of divisiveness and hatred towards our multi cultural society. It’s the USA where living in not communist CHINA? But with all these completely leftist liberals in our education system it’s one way only, We’re all better educated and are superior to all our commoners that work 75 hours a week to provide a safe and honest family for our children ( if they only knew the lies and perverted teachings these leftist union teachers are actually brainwashing our youth with it would put your hair on fire! These are extremely dangerous times with a diabolical administration and a president who is not only severely compromised by our worst enemies but is a puppet who’s acting out a frightening and extremely destructive agenda.This current political party (incl the Mitch McConnell RHINOS) simply cannot be trusted to protect and watch out for our country.

The English language is one of, if not the hardest language to master. I have read many posts on AMAC’s Forum and I have noted quite a large number of English errors regarding three words which all sound the same but have different meanings and spellings.

There = A place
Their = A person’s possession
They’re = They are

When reading the posts, please take note of use of these three words used.

Apparently not all of us had good teachers who had the talent and determination to assure his/her students had a firm grasping of the strange details of the English language. This is not to criticize the posters but to enlighten that even as adults, we can be taught lessons on reading and spelling.

Teachers’ unions can go to hell. If there are “good” ones they sure are silent. Term limits for union presidents.

Government is going the WRONG direction, the increased spending for schools and adding more IRS agents should be examined for BETTER FOR AMERICA reasons. Teachers should be accurately grading student work instead of just promoting them to the next grade level otherwise you are making colleges just as crowded as grade schools. Too many children are being added to the population and illegals just accelerates these numbers. The IRS needs to revamp their code: a FULL deduction for having NO children, 1/2 for having ONE child, 1/4 for Two children, and NO deductions if more than two and the rule applies for the rest of your life ( even after the child leaves home ) !!! You CANNOT control world climate warming WITHOUT controlling population!!! So hit where it hurts the most. – their pocketbooks!!! The END is in sight otherwise.
