WASHINGTON, DC, Dec 12 — America’s parents have had enough; they’re fighting back against so-called “woke” teachers in public and private schools who are hell-bent on brainwashing our children in a seemingly concerted effort to create a socialist revolution among the next generations of Americans.
It’s happening not only in public schools throughout the country, but also in elite private schools. When Andrew Gutmann pulled his daughter out of the posh Brearley School for girls in New York City not long ago, he didn’t do it because of the pricey $54,000-a-year tuition. He did it because he objected “to Brearley’s vacuous, inappropriate, and fanatical use of words such as ‘equity,’ ‘diversity’ and ‘inclusiveness’,” as he put it in a 1,700-word letter that was made public, according to the Foundation for Economic Education [FEE]. (He wrote on, “If the administration was genuinely serious about ‘diversity,’ it would not insist on the indoctrination of its students, and their families, to a single mindset, most reminiscent of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. Instead, the school would foster an environment of intellectual openness and freedom of thought.”
Mr. Gutmann is not alone. According to the Heartland Institute, in addition to Brearley, teachers at numerous other high-priced private schools across the country are engaging in political shenanigans in support of “woke” ideologies. In New York, for example, the Institute cites New York’s Dalton School and in Los Angeles, the Brentwood and Harvard-Westlake schools for their political focus on the creation of “a social justice utopia.”
The Institute notes that “While parents can protest a private school’s political dogma by simply removing their kids, a public school parent too rarely has the option to do so. Instead, they must get organized, and that is indeed happening. ‘No Left Turn in Education,’ started by a concerned mom in her living room late last summer, is a grassroots movement of concerned parents, teachers, watchdogs and others. Just six months later, the group now boasts chapters in 18 states. Elana Yaron Fishbein, the organization’s founder, attributes the astronomical growth of her group to the fact that parents are fed up with far-left dogma because it’s a threat to their kids.” Fishbein added that it is also “threatening their family. It’s threatening their way of life. It’s threatening their livelihood. So, it’s not something abstract, it’s very, very real … the indoctrination will continue to metastasize until parents wake up and act.”
A poll conducted by Gallup in July showed that among respondents identifying themselves as Republicans, their confidence dropped from an already low level of 20% to just 13% between 2021 and 2022. Among Independents confidence dropped from 30% to 29% and among Democrats from 44% to 43%.
The young ranks of so-called Millennials and Generation Z — Americans born in the 80s and 90s — tend to be left of center when it comes to politics. There are exceptions, though. One of them is radio talk show host, Jason Rantz. He describes himself on his website as a “fresh, contemporary conservative voice. Young and urban, passionate and bold … [he is] outnumbered by the Progressive chorus yet refuses to ignore the conservative principles at the core of America’s greatness.” In an Opinion article published in Newsweek earlier this year he said that progressive educators used the pandemic protocols that shut down public schools to invigorate the promotion of the “dangerous and confusing woke curricula on captive young audiences.”
Teachers have a lot of power over the kids they teach, and they know it and the leftists among them used the privacy of COVID-era computer-based schooling to begin freely indoctrinating our youngsters. The goal, as Rantz put it in his OpEd: to “give them viewpoints that will shift the culture for generations … Halloween is racist, say Seattle schools, while Oregon educators claim white supremacy has infected mathematics. Young children in New Jersey were set to learn ‘how gender role stereotypes may limit behavior’ and in Philadelphia, students were told that doctors ‘guess’ a newborn’s gender.”
Their dirty, little progressive secret has been uncovered and more and more parents are saying that “we are mad as hell and we’re not going to take it anymore,” to paraphrase Howard Beale, played by Peter Finch, in the 1976 movie Network.

This is a very encouraging situation, a significant number of parents realizing that the far left, ultra liberal influence in the schools needs to be reckoned with. I am thinking that some sort of Independent education system may already be in the works at some level,

Less talk, more actual action. Sending letters back and forth, while the left continues the wholesale indoctrination of America’s youth, is not going to cut it. Actions like de-certifying the teachers unions, to break their stranglehold on the nation’s public school system is a start. Sending letters back and forth accomplishes nothing, while more and more young people become programmed to be good , little “useful idiots”.
These “teachers?” haven’t looked in the mirror lately. White folks are the cause of “everything”? So why are there still white teachers in the schools. Oh I know so they can share just how awful they’ve been but now see the light. Talk about drinking too much koolaid. I am a retired teacher and I’m deeply offended that my profession has lost its direction. These folks need to rethink about why they became teachers and get their heads on straight.

At present the DemocRat Party is a political Communist Party in the Nation’s political fabric. It has IMO become that way over a long period of decades beginning in the 19th Century. Communism is the best form to divy out the slice of pie to a sufficiently large minority number of people and yet look as if it was democracy. This can be stopped by term limits for the members of the Legislative branch of the governmemt. Also, term limits should be term limits for Executive branch heads (CIA, FBI, IRS, etc.). Otherwise, I am not convinced that the sickness of Communism will not continue to gain a strangling foothold in the Nation’s governance.

I’m sorry but no child should ever know a teachers political affiliation in school that’s not a teachers job , teachers are hired for one thing and one thing only to teach our children academics , reading, writing, math and science, civics, not what these freaks have been doing. Just do the job you were hired for and if you can’t you must get out of teaching. No one cares what you believe in or anything else just do your job or get the hell out
It is time to yank the kids out of school and create homeschooling with parents that can teach different subjects, or with teachers that quit their woke jobs. Public schools and academies have failed the kids, they can’t read, write or do math, and have no idea what gender they are. It has to stop.
When I grew up, we didn’t care about our teachers’ politics. Whatever happened to thinking for yourself and analytical thinking?
Part of the overall problem is the National Teachers Union. That organization gets Federal tax dollars and mis-uses them by donating to Democrat Party and pushing Communist teaching on to the children.
Not all teachers want to teach the Union’s (National Teachers Union) directives. We need to clean out the Democrat Party of the Communist influences.

Something that I think should occur in every government agency is a good, hard consevative look at each. Some, like the NEA need to be disbanded. I’m not sure what they do for individual teacher–except there are some (abuse to children, especially special needs) that have been reported for which the teacher should be in jail but is on “paid” leave or “reassigned” to a non-classroom position. But, it would be interesting to know how many current teachers are frustrated about the leftist agenda set forth by the NEA. Seems a number (50 or so recently) in FL have quit because of being forced to teach rotgut to students. Wish there was some way to revamp the universities because, as someone pointed out–the newer of teachers in schools now were “educated” at communistic/progressive universities.
I am a paraprofessional at a school in NJ and I along with many others at my school have recently left the teachers union. I refuse to subsidize their political agendas any longer and told them so in my opt out letter.
I know several parents that started teaching there children at home and they love it, maybe not all can do that but it is time for parents to take a stand and say enough is enough these teachers have no right to teach children what the parents do not want them to learn parents need to take a hand in what there children learn and stop teachers that push there ideas what they think that is not there role as a teacher.
I grew up in the school system starting in the early 1950’s. As I progressed through school, my classes were about proper English, spelling, writing, the true history of the nation, researching and writing state’s histories, math, shop class, home economics. etc. One of my favorite teachers in high school in Speedway, Indiana taught civics…what the people in government were really about…no sugar coating. We were taught to drive in driving class, we went to gym class, played baseball and ran track.
There were consequences for misbehavior. We said the Pledge of Allegiance, standing before the flag, first thing. We paid attention in class, we would be sent to the principal’s office if we misbehaved, and our parents would be notified. We walked to school and we walked home from school. We took our lunches to school. Today’s “schools” are a sick joke with precious few exceptions, completely controlled by the “government”…but if you pay attention to what your child is bringing home, or find out that your child is being exposed to filth disguised as “science” then get angry and do something about it!
Sadly California “schools” started pushing for “sex” education in the 60’s and early 70’s…and it was graphic! … to children as young as 7 years…guess who came to the classroom to talk about it? Planned Parenthood! It’s about time rational adults started questioning the garbage being pushed on children. When is the last time we heard about the PTA, Parent Teachers Association? Does it even exist anymore? So-called “child, youth services” are also controlled by indoctrination…if one spanks the child for being a brat they could be brought up on charges of “child abuse!”
Our own Lord in His word said “spare the rod, spoil the child.” This is not about child abuse! The way so many children act in public now and the last several years, at one time would not be tolerated. The left calls discipline child abuse...and what a nation full of gangs, out of control kids, teenagers stealing cars, guns and shooting at random. With precious few exceptions this behavior didn’t exist when the family raised the child and not the government controlled schools. I got busted more than once…and I deserved it.
Our children have been getting brainwashed by the far left, anti-American crowd for a whole lotta years. So called “colleges” with a precious few exceptions, just continue the brainwashing and deliberate misinformation. Many in the generations since the 60’s have been “spoiled” and allowed to do as they please, except for those who understand God’s word for the raising of children.
But again, attacks on parents aren’t random or with any concern for the child’s welfare…there is an agenda…and we’re seeing it acted out in the “justice” system daily. There are multiple layers of what’s being done to weaken this Constitutional Republic.
To all those parents who’re fighting back, who’re home schooling, God bless you, protect you, strengthen you and keep you in HIs care. You and your children are the future of this nation.
The parent’s are just now waking up ? Where’s the problem ? Its not the teachers union who
have disrespected children and parents for years. Its the parents who have done nothing.
When kids move permanently into their parents basement 10 years from now after $200,000 for a worthless college degree, the parents will start to think “what was I doing ?.
