PBM Reform is Important for America

AMAC Action has been very vocal on behalf of our members regarding the layers of anti-competitive business practices used by PBMs, including reducing market competition for drugs, using spread pricing to increase profits without lowering costs, using claw-backs that hurt independent community pharmacies, and shifting patients to costlier drugs. None of these practices are in the best interest of the patient.

The reforms currently in discussions during the continuing resolution process are mostly budget neutral, meaning reform won’t cost the American taxpayer. Regardless of what happens with the current talks, AMAC Action will continue to push for PBM Reform.

Meetings

December 19 Chapter Meeting: AK-At Large Delegate Robert Coulter hosted the chapter meeting for AMAC members in the Anchorage area. Gabby Ide from Moms for Liberty and Jim Minnery of the Alaska Family Council discussed that the next series of elections are on the horizon and proper cohesiveness is a winning strategy.

Economics 101: The Principles of Free Market Economics

Economics is ultimately about making choices. Learn about economics and how the American Founders believed that economic freedom and property rights are rooted in the natural competition and cooperation of human beings. They believed that the best economic system should consist of private property and be allowed to operate freely. This 10-session course includes lessons on supply and demand, the “information problem” behind the failure of central planning, the rise of macroeconomics under the influence of John Maynard Keynes, and the 2008 financial crisis.

For Christmas Day: Hark! the Herald Angels Sing

by Charles Wesley

Hark! the herald Angels sing,

Glory to the new-born King,

Peace on earth and mercy mild,

God and sinner reconcil’d.

Hark! the herald Angels sing,

Glory to the new-born King.

Joyful all ye nations rise,

Join the triumph of the skies,

With the angelic host proclaim,

Christ is born in Bethlehem.

Hark! the herald Angels sing,

Glory to the new-born King.

Christ by highest Heaven ador’d,

Christ the everlasting Lord!

Late in time behold him come,

Offspring of a virgin’s womb.

Hark! the herald Angels sing,

Glory to the new-born King.

Veiled in flesh the Godhead see,

Hail, the incarnate Deity,

Pleased as Man with man to dwell,

Jesus our Immanuel!

Hark! the herald Angels sing,

Glory to the new-born King.

Hail the Heaven-born Prince of Peace!

Hail the Sun of Righteousness!

Light and life to all he brings,

Risen with healing in his wings.

Hark! the herald Angels sing,

Glory to the new-born King.

Mild he lays his glory by,

Born that man no more may die,

Born to raise the sons of earth,

Born to give them second birth.

Hark! the herald Angels sing,

Glory to the new-born King.

Just keeping my social security benefits from being taking away from me would be a great thing for AMAC to accomplish. We lost our survivor benefits in 2024 without any feedback from AMAC. So what do you have planned for 2025? I’ve got a good ideal, lets award social security to public employees who didn’t pay in to social security and to make it better, lets forgive their student loan. I lost a large part of my government civilian retirement because when I left federal civilian service they sent me the retirement I had paid – $12,000. When I returned to federal civilian service I needed to repay the retirement. I sent them a check for $12,000 but they weren’t satisfied with that they charged me interest. They wanted $55,000 in one lump sum payment. So I’m taking a big reduction in my 20 years of federal service retirement. And I don’t see them giving me any credits for that 10 years of not paying social security like they’re going to give these guys.- those are all 0 years for me.

WASHINGTON, DC - FEBRUARY 26: Demonstrators, some of them former PEPFAR and USAID employees, protest to demand that Congress stand up to President Donald Trump and Elon Musk's "Department of Government Efficiency" and reinstate lifesaving programs in the Cannon House Office Building on Capitol Hill on February 26, 2025 in Washington, DC. Organized by ActUp's Health Global Access Project, the protesters temporarily occupied the floor of the rotunda before U.S. Capitol Police arrested 21 of the demonstrators.
