Legalizing Corruption – Michigan Killing Right to Work

Michigan

If you cannot beat independent-minded citizens legally, then make the illegal legal and coerce them into supporting you – that seems the strategy of Democrats in Michigan, not just DC. In DC, we see felons set free, drugs made legal, due process suspended for snap impeachments. Now comes Michigan, about to kill “right to work” laws, forcing employees to pay union dues – for Democrat coffers. May they reap what they sow.

The concept of a self-licking ice cream cone is not new, but this Michigan law – which would rot America to the core if it caught on nationally – is about as close as you get to a political “self-licking ice cream cone.” Democrats have no policy argument for coercing union membership, but are about to do it.

In short, Michigan “democrats are preparing to repeal the state’s right-to-work law,” making this “one of few states ever to undo right to work,” creating a sequence of events that will include compulsory union membership and annual dues, legal action against those who do not comply with the legalized extortion, higher labor costs, unemployment, and a hammer fall on the Michigan economy.

But the biggest effect will be to reverse individual freedoms, distort election integrity, and create compulsory employee funding of the Democratic Party, Democrat reelections, and Democrat policies, higher taxes and environmental mandates to anti-girl trans and anti-dream CRT mandates.

In short, while Americans long for lower taxes, inflation, and crime, more employment, security, and parental control over education, fewer mandates and more liberties, what Harry Truman, John Kennedy, and Ronald Reagan called freedom, Michigan’s Democrats are taking their state backward, into darkness.

Specifically, “the State’s Democratic-controlled House” just passed a bill “to end right to work, which lets workers take a job without having to join a union” and Democrat “Senate leaders and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer have said they’ll approve the bill,” making Michigan “the first state to repeal right to work since 1965.”

The real issue is not Michigan, which can certainly decide to institutionalize corruption, as the unions pump millions into Democrat elections and seek to lock in control over the future with this regressive, anti-freedom law.

The real issue is – as we look around corners – that the political left feels newly empowered, with Biden and spendthrift national leadership to do the unthinkable, coerce citizens with backward mandates, forcing the three-quarters who do not want this law – to do what the elites want.

Just as almost 80 percent of Black America does not disagree with IDs for voting, and are not incapable of presenting them – despite a president who condescends that voter ID’s are racist – most employed in business, teaching, trades, do not want to pay dues they do not want to pay.

Moreover, they resist use of those dues to perpetuate twisted policies and union leaders who live for themselves, not the tradesmen, teachers or students they purport to represent.

As local sources report, “The bill’s backers offer little rationale beyond aiding unions…” and “laughed as Republicans questioned the process and policy, arguing a repeal would make Michigan less competitive.”

Ironically, a “Survey-USA poll last month found that 74 percent of Michigan voters oppose repealing it,” but here is the spoiler alert. Leftist Democrats interested in their campaign coffers and the unholy union-Democrat alliance do not care.

To show how craven this State’s Democrat leaders are – and how they do not care what the people think – they “designed the bill to be referendum-proof,” putting in a million dollars so they can call it “appropriations,” thus skirting a ballot measure.

Beyond contaminating the political process with illicit largess and distorting the electoral process by diverting non-Democrat dues to Democrat coffers, the bill will hammer the Michigan economy, likely chasing employers to other states.

Thus, bans on “forced union membership helped Southern states attract auto and other manufacturing jobs from the Midwest, and in turn inspired Midwestern states to get on board with the policy,” when earlier, “Indiana and Wisconsin joined Michigan in adopting right to work.” That was 2012, and it helped all economies.

Never mind, however, Democrat politicians see a cash cow – and a way to take money from non-Democrats and give it to Democrats, so onward they march. Last year, Michigan Democrats reportedly took “more than three million dollars from the state’s five biggest unions,” and now they can count on a bigger haul.

Who loses? Just the average citizen, who has fewer job prospects, must suffer a draw on their paycheck and in turn is used by Democrats to push policies no one wants, except those who personally profit. That is the definition of “legalizing corruption” – how better than to kill “right to work?” May they reap what they sow.

Michigan was deceived into voting Democratic because of Prop 3. The people who supported the killing of babies will now suffer the consequences of their ignorance. Too bad I live here too.

Very reminiscent of another world leader……… Adolf Hitler. Let’s see, forced union membership, removing guns from citizens, selective law enforcement, sound familiar??

Union GOONS have long been a mainstay of the DIMMs. The AFT/NEA got a quid pro quo when Mr. Peanut created the Dept. of Education after 75% of DIMM delegates were teachers. DIMM= Corruption = unions

It seems that we get another “Biden/Democrat” ruling every day to reduce the freedoms we have been taking for granted. The Democrats have perfected authoritarianism and corruption, forcing the rest of us to knuckle under to their unlawful, toxic and yes, pandering demands. The damage that has been done will only escalate as Biden’s term draws to a close, with Dems scrambling to grab as much power and control as they can before we get rid of them. Catering to unions is a big step towards that end.

The voters of Michigan love Lockdown Whitmer, re-elected her and now she will do what she can to further institutionalize Democrat rule in the state. I’m sure she is proud to see the Detroit city rot model being copied in big cities across the nation. We should not disparage Democrats whom we keep re-electing no matter how our safety, our freedoms and our prosperity are negatively impacted. We see corruption in voting, but we elect politicians who make it easy to harvest ballots. We see crime spiking and we elect public officials who thank us by coddling criminals. We complain about taxes and we elect politicians that want more so they can buy votes by making it easy for people who don’t want to work. SHAME ON US!

I can’t believe that I feel sorry for the people in another state! I reside in upstate New York and my state is as blue as they come. However, the naked power play now going on in Michigan is beyond the pale.

I know that a lot of people have been moving out of New York State for various reasons, mostly job related. Perhaps Michigan will witness the same per capita phenomenon?

This is another form of control over Americans. Freedom is taken away more and more this is just another piece of their plans. Make Americans poor so that we all will follow the government for we are beholden to them for our survival. What was it that Ben Franklin said? Freedom is great if you can keep it. Think about how it was 30-40 years ago and what it is like now. We have to fight to keep our freedom for it is slowly but surely taken from us.

Where is our freedom to choose? I will not ever move to Michigan. I pray that the passing of this law does not encourage other states to pass such a law. What has happened to individual choice?

Unions, perhaps, had a place in the USA workforce in the era of sweatshops and child labor, but now there are SO MANY regulations protecting workers that they have become superfluous. Union over reach is legendary, and how can an entrepreneur start up a new business with all the rules and red tape? Besides, “collective bargaining” is an oxymoron. I firmly believe no one can represent my interests better than me,
and just where do all those forced dues go? .

All sane folks move out of Michigan and take their businesses with them. Soon Michigan will become a state with a population lower than Wyoming. This will give them 1 representative and 2 senators. Unless of course all the illegals are transported to live there. What a racket.

Why is anyone surprised or even dismayed. Just admit it, we have not been a free Republic for years and that seems to be just fine with a majority of voters in national elections. Top-down authoritarians (elected and lifetime deep Staters) are in complete control of the Federal Government. The Feds supporting blue states can ignore the Constitution and its spirit with no fear of blow back. California recently turned over independent truckers to the Unions. Now Michigan voters through their elected officials are enforcing a form of involuntary servitude. If a critical mass of a population consistently supports the Leviathan then you can’t really be to surprised when it comes for you.

I am one of the people who will now be forced to pay union dues in order to continue in my current job. The only satisfaction I will get out of this mess is to tell a lot of my co-workers that if they voted for Whitmer, this is their fault!!! And that they should think if voting Republican next time!!!!

Just remember when everyone is b*tching about this after it passes; be very vocal about asking who voted to “reelect” whitmer and a majority “democrat” aka communist legislature. When you get very few if any admitting they did continue to harp on it.
I remember when things were going south under jimmy (the idiot) carter and everyone was complaining I couldn’t find anyone who admitted they voted for the guy.

Many years ago I was listening to NPR and they were interviewing the guy who started the Bloods gang. The interviewer asked how it felt to be the leader of the largest gang in America and he replied,”we’re not the largest gang, the government is.” To which I scoffed. I’m older and wiser now, he was right.

It’s unfortunate, but our elections have consequences that are now out of the voters control.
They’ve taken full control over our elections in Michigan and other states. We people have not elected these people for the reasons why they are implementing numerous laws that subjugate the people.
Gun Owners are going to be criminals who don’t lock up their firearms. Registration annually will raise money for those who want to control those who have certain firearms. Oh it’s going to get even nuttier with time to give these bucketheads in power.
For the 2 + decades here, we’ve been drifting with more Left-wing crazy getting into office, but while hearing about election problems in certain counties.
2018 Soros and other funds helped to change the key people to illegally change the future. Last year, they made it all legal with 3 evil proposals to the ballot. Any intelligent people would say No to all 3. Surprise that the certain places with election problems said Yes by enough to pass all 3, keep the top 3 people in top spots, and flip the state congress to blue power.
I am not stupid. What happened here will be used to happen elsewhere. Please be careful about your election processes.

Democrats have become despots. Under Biden this has been woefully apparent. The Democrats are leftist communist, globalists and are destroying the United States of America. However, there is good news! Democrats are shooting themselves in the foot with their nonsense and failures. An example is FTX and SVB failure which are a direct result of Democrat incompetence. Democrats want to control you and everyone around them because they will do anything to retain power which has included fraudulent elections overuse of executive orders that are unconstitutional and the general mockery of all Christian and American values. I for one am glad that the Democrats are finally clearly stating and demonstrating just who they are and how corrupt they are, it’s time to stand up and vote every Democrat out of office!

Michigan voters sent our beautiful state to the sewer this last election. Legally or not legally, we are stuck with this mess until the next election. I think the whole state should vote on Right To Work; not just legislators who are NOT real workers anyway.

People can uproot their families and move, but the problem is, they are running out of places to run to! The left is heavily funded by Global patheists with very deep pockets. Many of these folks are not Americans but they are relentless, polluting America one region at a time. They are well organized and fund people who have no other job or purpose other than corrupting and destroying America. It’s very frustrating thst those who are diligently working to support their families are being out flanked by lazy, worthless Marxists.

Instead of “reap what they sow” the ppl of MI should say good riddance. This is so wrong but exactly the way democrats play today. I think we need to concentrate on news. If ppl don’t get honest reporting they remain in the dark. Can’t they be sued for lying?

There is a solution. Stop paying your state taxes and union dues for a few years. No taxation without representation. As there are not enough tax collectors to cover 75 percent or the states population. Take the $$$’s away on a state wide scale.Yes its hard but taking your freedom and quality of life ??
