Hoping our elected representatives gain wisdom, guiding their judgement; am I alone, realizing our forefathers urgently established a new government because they saw contemptible corruption in the old countries? Seems like Congress is thumbing its nose at its citizens. jerryl 5 months ago Question 10 is wrong. If you have reportable income you have taxes withheld. In order to get those withholdings back you must file a tax return. It doesn’t matter how much you earned, you still must file a return. Kreu 5 months ago Should have had a question about Federal Income tax having been initiated as a temporary tax, to remind and educate people that the USG has forgotten to stop it, because they have created their self-licking ice cream cone. Mary Annie 5 months ago My father taught me to do my income tax return as soon as I had reportable income and I have been doing my tax returns ever since. I continue to be surprised that most of my friends only want to know that they will be getting money back! Wrong! I am proud that I make only an annual federal tax payment of less than $1000. And that doesn’t get mailed off until April 15! Bchris 5 months ago 10 out of 10 for the first quiz ever. How sad considering the subject! Melinda 5 months ago Got 2 wrong, the VAT and the last one. Since I retired I pay an accountant to do taxes. It works out to about $12 a month and is worth not having the aggravation. It helps that my taxes are simple. Of course, it doesnt include all the other taxes we pay (sales tax, property tax, etc.). Patty L 5 months ago 9/10…. Wish I didn’t have to know this much! Lol DL Reynolds 5 months ago 10/10 for the first quiz ever. Sadly, most younger people would fail miserably. We need to teach them these things. Bruce 5 months ago 14 out of 10? Margie 5 months ago 10/10 Mike L 5 months ago Not sure, but sometimes April 15 could be moved to April 16 or 17. Massachusetts has “Patriots Day” (battle at Lexington & Concord), celebrated no the third Monday in April. If April 15 falls on Patriots Day (third Monday), the citizens get to move the Tax Day to Tuesday. Boston Marathon is normally run on Patriots Day. (my wife is from Massachusetts) lol Rod Kuhn 5 months ago Question 5 is incorrect. An item that reduces gross income is a “tax deduction, not a “tax exemption”.
