Who cares about that? Hardly a celebration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, is it? Find a better question, please. ROBERT 5 years ago 11 of 13. I’m 72, born here, and NEVER heard it referenced to as “the National Day of the United States!” Should have been obvious, but assumed it was a trick question. In the USA, what does that make all the other days? Unnational? Non-national? Anti-national? As K TOO, I couldn’t care less about tennis on Independence Day, and in fact, I resent it’s appearance in an Independence Day quiz. carol 5 years ago I got 11 out of 13 cuz I don’t keep up with tennis and I don’t care about hot dog eating contests. Those questions were irrelevant to the history of freedom and the start of the Revolutionary War in our country. Couldn’t they come up with more historical questions that actually made a difference? Margaret 5 years ago I’m not upset by it but I thought the tennis question was odd. Maybe because it’s British? Can’t figure the application. Anyway, I know hotdogs have become a July 4th tradition. Personally, I cringe at the anything eating contest. I wish the tradition of glorifying gluttony would go away. I know,I know, party pooper. Still, I got 11 out of 13 right. I like these quizzes. Judy 5 years ago 11 of 13. Doug 5 years ago I studied the battle of Vicksburg Mississippi during the Civil War yesterday again. You know Vicksburg fell to the yankees after a long siege on July 4th 1863 (1 day after over 50,000 men died at Gettysburg). The Forth of July was not celebrated there until 1945 when WWII ended. You could formulate some good questions from that little bit of American History. Thanks julia 5 years ago I missed the hot dog and tennis ones also. roger engle 5 years ago I finally aced one! Ya! Kate 5 years ago I got 12/13. Best ever. I even got the tennis and the hot dog one right; I think these two were here because they are associated with 7/4. I missed the easy one about the first signer. Don’t know what I was thinking….nothing I guess. LOL E.R. Tony Banks 5 years ago I missed the hot dog question. And I’m glad a few questions were irrelevant. Keeps us thinking out of the box. Shame on anyone missing more than two. Old guys and ladies probably did just fine. Now where did I leave that hot dog? Neil 5 years ago 12 out of 13. First signer got me. Strange I got both the hot dogs and tennis questions. Glenn Scott 5 years ago 13 out of 13. I must be a Patriot. Rodger 5 years ago It is in the education. Rodger 5 years ago There used to be a pub in Altanta’s CNN building called Reggie’s. He had a July 4th celebration called the Grand Losers Party. Rodger 5 years ago I forgot to say Reggie was a Brit. Mary 5 years ago ? Wow 100 correct! Proud to be an American! ??????????????? T Anderson 5 years ago Missed one. The sports question because I only follow the NHL so had to take a guess and guessed wrong. But really don’t care. 🙂 Gail 5 years ago I learned my history in the Midwest in high school in the 1950s so I did well on this test, 13 out of 13 correct. Hooray for my past education efforts. God Bless America. Linda Call 5 years ago I got all the questions right that pertained to Ame=icann history. I dont understand the one about Wimbledon . I’m 76 years old, and I think I got a better education in American history than today’s school children do. Lian 5 years ago What does tennis have to do with our Independence day celebration? Such a frivolous question. Larry 5 years ago Embarrassing !!! Only one I missed was the National Anthem. But I still think that God should Bless America !!! Mardi Grinnan 5 years ago The questions were elementry. Children in the third grade should know the answers to those questions. However, sadly, that is not the case in the modern government schools of today. Anyway, thanks for the fun! 13 out of 13. Slymet 5 years ago Got 11 out of 13 so not bad. Did know that July 4th was also National Day. I have never heard of National Day. And I did not know that John Hancock was the first to sign the Declaration of Independence. I thought he was the last to sign. Questions about tennis are fine with me. The men’s final at Wimbledon this year was awesome–a five setter that Novak Djokovic won 13-12 in the final set, though I wanted Roger Federer to win because he actually won more games and he’s 37 years old. Charles D Trice 5 years ago 82 Yrs. old got 12 of 13 would have got that one but just answered it too fast even got the odd Wimbledon one. Joni 5 years ago 13 out of 13 for me, too!
