8/10 I like brunch, but I thought they called it brunch because you start eating breakfast and do not stop until after lunch.

6/10 I eat “Brunch” but not these fancy dishes. I eat oatmeal and blueberries at 10 or 11. Not familiar with some of these in this quiz and definitely not their history. Learned something new this morning. Looking forward to next week’s puzzles.

Why is there such a thing? We call it “Late Breakfast” here. Late breakfast is after checking that all the oil wells are pumping, cattle are fed & watered and collecting the eggs in the back yard to make breakfast with fresh eggs.

6/10. Good set of questions. I learned a lot just from the first 4 questions which I got wrong.

7/10. If I had trusted myself to ‘go with my first guess’, my score would have been higher! Happy weekend folks.

Two rather glaring grammatical errors: “Menus” on Question 8 does not need an apostrophe. It is not possessive, only plural. I learned years ago that the apostrophe after “2000” is correct but I’m now told that you don’t need that one, either. On Question 9, the right form of the word is “DOESN’T” since all possible choices are singular. Just sayin’. (I still like you guys!)

Well . . . Thank You AMAC! I learned a new word today — portmanteau. I had actually come across portmanteau in my reading this week. I could not make out the meaning from the context and I did not take time to look it up. Now I understand the meaning of portmanteau. This week’s read is FORD The Machine and the Men. Great opportunity to learn the basics of manufacturing and get caught up on what was going on in our great country in the first half of the 20th century.

7/10. Though I never heard of the word before I almost selected the correct answer but went with alliteration though I can’t recall its meaning. I will look it up after this.

7 of 10, which seems pretty average for this one. My FAVORITE dining out meal. I should have gotten avacodo toast correct because of the clue “trendy,” but went with chocolate chip pancakes because of the clue “frivolous spending.”

8/10, what a surprise! Always good to learn new words (portmanteau), but not sure I’ll ever use it.

I much prefer the Bloody Mary over the Mimosa. Vodka in the morning: what could possibly go wrong?

The correct answer to question 1 is ‘between 10am and 12m. There ain’t no such thing as 12pm. Answers to question s 6 and 7 are silly.

Surprised at answer to number 8. I ate avocado toast when I was young in the 1950’s. It was usually with my Uncle when he was home from the Navy.

Eggs Benedict has a sauce that makes it what it is. There was NO sauce on the one in the picture, therefore Moons Over Myhammie.
