I was surprised how much I did know about our military. Guess I learned a lot of that in school….it used to be taught in school about the history of our country.

11/13. I’m pleasantly surprised.
And thank you to all of our military and ex-military folks here…and their families who served with them keeping the home fires burning!

There are three. Army, Air Force and Navy. Marines are part of the Navy as is the Coast Guard in time of war.

Surprise,! Anyone over 50 should know these answers but thanks to our FEDERAL Education Department I’m betting those under 40 can’t answer half.

Doesn’t the National Guard count? I think there’s 6 branches. Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy, Coast Guard and National Guard.

Regarding the 2 questions I got wrong regarding the Coast Guard, the USCG is a part of the US Commerce Department, not the DOD. I understand that it’s looked at as tho it’s part of the DOD (Department of Defense)

I have a question. We honor our former servicemen with Veterans Day. We honor our fallen military with Memorial Day. Why do we ignore those on active duty as we should on Armed Forces Day?

Like I said before, we need to pay as much attention to Armed Forces Day as the other patriotic holidays.
