US Constitution Racist? Hardly

constitutionIgnorance of history is embarrassing – but forgivable for most of us, as we are busy. For a United Nations Ambassador, appointed at a critical time in the US and global history, it is a disgrace. The US Constitution – as understood today – is hardly racist. To say so is arrogant, ignorant, or both.

Biden’s UN Ambassador, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, believes the US Constitution – even as read today – is racist. She thinks America’s founders “weaved white supremacy” into “founding documents and principles,” thus “we are an imperfect union and have been since the beginning.”
In short, we should disparage if not disavow the Constitution. Where does one begin?

First, one should note that to obtain her office; this UN Ambassador swore an oath to the Constitution she disparages. Explicitly, she was required to “solemnly swear” to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic” and “bear true faith and allegiance to the same,” affirming that oath was taken “freely, without mental reservation or purpose of evasion” and that she would “well and faithfully discharge the duties” of office.
The oath ends, “so help me, God.”

Calling the US Constitution and natural law “principles” embodied in that document, including core articles and Amendments – “racist” and “weaved with White supremacy,” emblematic of America’s “imperfect union” now and historically is ignorant. Doing so when you have sworn before God and Country to defend it seems worse.

The UN Ambassador appears either to have spoken falsely or, upon acceding to office, broken her oath. One cannot both defend high principle and disparage it; one is either a defender of the Constitution or a detractor. One cannot be both.

But go to the heart of the matter. Every freedom that Americans of every skin color, ethnic pedigree, physical and geographic background, age, gender, and identifier enjoy today is rooted in that Constitution. No country in the world is freer, no group of citizens more fortunate, more assiduously, constitutionally, continuously protected against deprivation of individual freedoms – because of that Constitution.

No country in the world works harder to assure equal treatment and due process to all than this country. None tolerates more citizen demonstrations, assemblies, protests, and appeals. None works harder to make real “equal protection” found in the 5th and 14th Amendments, the former a founding document and latter dating to 1868. In other words, majority or minority, our Constitution protects your rights.

Working on perfecting our union, the 15th Amendment says: “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude.” Accordingly, in 1870 – more than 150 years ago – the Constitution was amended to give American men of African descent the vote. This was before white women got the vote in 1920 – pushed by Republican President Theodore Roosevelt.

Before and after the Voting Rights Act of 1965, the Supreme Court has consistently reinforced these provisions, helping lift the fallen nature of Mankind through the rule of law – based on the Constitution. No country in the world works harder for that outcome or has been more successful.

So, to disparage the most powerful source of human empowerment, greatest written and effectuated guarantor of human rights in history; to condemn the greatest example of a human social compact assuring freedom and equality ever to exist; to rip a process by which we reform, improve, and work toward Lincoln’s “more perfect union” – generation on generation – is indefensible. The US Constitution is objectively among the best documents ever conceived.

A third point “gives the lie” to those who call the Constitution “racist” or “white supremacy.” Perhaps misapplied personal anger animates this statement, but it is wrong. Beyond workably dividing federal power among three co-equal branches and accommodating state and local governance vertically, the document protects core human rights.

The Founders were brilliant. They articulated principles that limited government assured maximum liberty in the context of equal opportunity and allowed for Amendment. This Constitution – which Biden’s UN Ambassador calls racist and unworthy, despite taking an oath to defend it – has been adopted, in whole or part, by most of the world or nearly 200 countries.

Our Constitution is the global standard. It is the textual assurance of human rights. While many nations do not work as hard as Americans to effectuate those rights, limits on government, assurances of liberty, and equality, none has produced a better document.

While many nations fall short, the starting point is our Constitution. Dozens of countries in Africa, as well as in South America and the Far East, based their constitutions on ours.
Now, I ask you – if the US Constitution were innately racist, as unworthy as Biden’s UN Ambassador suggests – would it be the global standard, a prototype from Africa to India?

Bottom line: The US Constitution is, and always will be, the global standard for the greatest liberty with greatest equal opportunity, made real through amendments. No nation on Earth has come closer to balancing individual liberty with equal opportunity than Americans.

To condemn our Constitution – especially after taking an oath to defend it – is the height of arrogance, ignorance, or both.
No citizen on the planet has more liberties than an American. No document protects them more forcefully, faithfully, or fully than the US Constitution. Period.

By Valley Forge, 1 in 5 soldiers in Washington’s army was black. They fought, were wounded, and died along with their fellow white soldiers to defend a cause they believed in. Black History Month overlooks this fact of history.

Is it just me or is suppression of the black vote by our GOP far more sinister and pervasive than the minuscule amount of electoral fraud that takes place which is used to ‘justify’ voter ID and suppression of the black vote?

Above anything else this is a great article and truly something that we all should consider whole heartedly and more especially by our politicians who have taken an oath to uphold and defend it. There should be no talk of changing any of it to appease ANY group and should stand equally, as it does, for each and every one of us.
I thank GOD for guiding our forefathers in the writing of the Constitution and our Bill of Rights. You will find no other country on the face of this Earth that have the rights, liberties and freedoms that we all enjoy. People that believe otherwise, should go to, live and work in any of the other countries, as I have for over 40 years and learn something about what we have here in comparison. I assure you, that there is nothing that compares, anywhere on this Earth.

This article is great. Bottom line is that the liberals/left need to get rid of the US Constitution so the one world order can come into being so that they can control the entire world. Right now, this country is the world’s final defense for freedom and it is being riddled away by the current administration and LEFT wing congress.

The main issues right NOW, are that schools stopped teaching the Constitution over a decade ago, AND, the FACT that officials who willfully VIOLATE their Oath and Constitutional Law, pay NO price for doing so! Violation of Oath is a FEDERAL CRIME, 5U.S.7311& Exec. Order 10450. Punishable by Removal from Office, Prison Time, and Fines! How about we start enforcing that LAW and setting a precedent that will give pause to all who consider violation in the future?!?!?

Well said! Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield is the epitomy of embarrassment to our country, not to mention educated, intelligent professional women. Great example of yet another Biden appointment mistake.

So lets start a phone/email/letter campaign to Biden, the house, and Senate demanding her replacement with a loyal American. Anyone willing?

Violation of the Oath of Office is a Federal Crime. Why is it that every government employee, office holder, including military personnel, must take the Oath of Office to Support and protect the Constitution of the United States of America, yet few seem to honor it, and none are prosecuted for violating it? I would support s resolution that requires prosecution of Violation of Oath of Office, or at least like to see a public petition demanding that every violation be prosecuted.

If this country doesn’t wake up soon it’s going to be too late. The Socialist Democrats are doing everything in their power to do away with the Constitution and anything else that has made this country great. People need to give up the idea that all we have to do is wait until the next election, then vote them out.

The Democrats are not, and never have played by the same rules. For years I’ve watched The Republican party reach across the isle and play nice whenever they have been in power. As soon as the Democrats regain power all bets are off and they do their best to shove their agenda down our throats.

America needs to wake up and needs to do so in a hurry. This time the DEMONcrats are playing for keeps and appear to be following the step by step Communist handbook on how to overthrow a government.

This representative has committed treason and should be stripped of her position and put on trial for her hate speech against America.

The fact that (Ms.) Linda Thomas-Greenfield took the oath to “support and defend the Constitution” and then turn around and says that is “racist” and blast it shows her lack of character. No way does she deserve an ambassadorship. We don’t need anymore two-faced persons in the Biden administration! Very good article, AMAC!!

I would challenge our U.N. Ambassador to read “The American Covenant…The Untold Story” by Marshall Foster and look specifically at Appendix 3…The speech that saved the U.S. Constitution. It gave power to the “People” not the “Government”. A Republic. It is about Liberty and Freedom for all.

She and all the Democraps think it’s time to dump our Constitution since they don’t pay any attention to what is in it anyway. It’s very scary because they begin the brainwashing in elementary schools and I’m more than a tad concerned that they will change the name of our country to the SSA (Socialist States of America).

Well Bob, maybe the Ambassador was referring to the Three-Fifths Compromise.

And speaking of ignorance, yesterday Tennessee Republican legislator Justin Lafferty falsely declared that an 18th-century policy designating a slave as three-fifths of a person was adopted for “the purpose of ending slavery,” commenting amid a debate over whether educators should be restricted while teaching about systematic racism in America.

During lengthy debate on the GOP-controlled state House floor, several Black lawmakers expressed concerns about the bill’s impact on how certain subjects would be taught in schools, specifically highlighting the Three-Fifths Compromise, as reported by the Associated Press. The policy was made during the nation’s Constitutional Convention in 1787 and classified that three-fifths of a state’s slave population could be counted toward its total population when apportioning taxes and states’ representation in Congress.

Historians largely agree the compromise gave slaveholding states inordinate power over choosing a president—and decisions of the Continental Congress. That clout eventually faded when Northern state populations began to rapidly rise. I don’t know if you consider yourself an historian but your opinion appears to be in the minority on this one.
