Dear Congressman McKinley,
On behalf of the 2.1 million members of AMAC – Association of Mature American Citizens, including over 4500 residing in WV-01, I write to offer our organization’s support for H.R. 5616, the Improving Safety and Security for Veterans Act.
Many AMAC members have selflessly served in America’s armed forces. They relate to us how their service on behalf of our nation represents a significant source of pride for themselves and their families. AMAC is on record as being passionate advocates for the care America’s service members receive when they return home from their duties.
H.R. 5616 honors America’s veterans by requiring the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to provide detailed reports on patient safety and quality of care at VA Medical Centers. This oversight will hold VA Medical Centers accountable for providing the best care possible for these patriots who have defended our freedom and safety. The transparency your bill promotes will work to ensure veterans receive the care they deserve in safe environments throughout the VA system.
Thank you, Congressman McKinley, and your bipartisan cosponsors, for bringing much needed accountability for all VA Medical Centers. As an organization that believes our veterans deserve to confidently receive superior care in the safest possible setting, AMAC is pleased to offer our full support for H.R. 5616, the Improving Safety and Security for Veterans Act.
Sincerely,
Bob Carlstrom
President,
