Dear Congresswoman DelBene and Senator Marshall,
On behalf of the 2.3 million members of AMAC – Association of Mature American Citizens, I write to offer our support for the Improving Seniors’ Access to Timely Care Act, and its companion, H.R. 3173.
The prior authorization process as currently configured, places administrative burdens on physicians and delays care for Medicare beneficiaries. As an organization representing many Medicare recipients, we are pleased to see the priority these bills place on expedited health care for seniors.
The provisions in your bills, including electronically streamlining the prior authorization procedure; implementing national standards for clinical documents; increasing transparency between Medicare Advantage plans, physicians, and patients; modernizes the process and increases necessary oversight. AMAC recognizes that these bills will reduce administrative red tape and allow physicians to better care for their
patients.
Thank you, Congresswoman DelBene and Senator Marshall, and your bipartisan co-sponsors, for working together to protect seniors and ensure they receive the timely care that they need. Your bills prioritize patients over paperwork and AMAC is pleased to offer our organization’s full support for the Improving Seniors’ Access to Timely Care Act, and its companion, H.R. 3173.
Sincerely,
Bob Carlstrom
President, AMAC Action
