This critical legislation, which successfully passed the House in the 118th Congress with bipartisan support, addresses the devastating fentanyl crisis and provides vital tools to combat the ongoing tragedy of addiction and overdose deaths.

By permanently placing these lethal substances in Schedule I, the HALT Fentanyl Act ensures that law enforcement agencies can effectively prosecute fentanyl traffickers and prevent this poison from wreaking further havoc in our communities. Your leadership, along with Congressman Latta and others, has been instrumental in advancing this legislation. The support from House leadership underscores that the Republican party realizes the importance of this bill in addressing the fentanyl epidemic that has devastated families across the nation.
