The Honorable Kevin Brady
8th Congressional District
1011 Longworth House Office Building
Washington, DC 20510
Dear Congressman Brady,
On behalf of over 2.1 million members of the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC), I write in support of the Maximizing America’s Prosperity (MAP) Act of 2019, H.R. 3930. As an organization that promotes American values and fiscal responsibility, AMAC is eager to support and help pass legislation that responsibly curtails federal spending.
AMAC concurs with Congressman Brady’s statement that, “America has a spending disease and its symptoms of debt and a ballooning deficit are impossible to ignore.” This year’s unprecedented challenges have left future generations with an even larger bill which must be paid eventually through higher taxes. The MAP Act is fiscally responsible legislation which will restrain excessive spending in the future. It requires Congress to stay within its budgetary means, the President to prioritize his spending programs in order from most to least essential, certain agencies and programs to be dismantled over a 12-year cycle (unless Congress votes to extend them), and it limits “big spenders” with a permanent continuing resolution.
The MAP Act is a sensible start to turning the tide on Congress’s overspending problem. AMAC is proud to offer our full support of this legislation and we look forward to helping you make America stronger now and for generations to come.
Sincerely,
Bob Carlstrom
President,
AMAC Action
