The Honorable August Pfluger
11th Congressional District of Texas
2202 Rayburn House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515

Dear Congressman Pfluger,

On behalf of AMAC Action, the advocacy affiliate of AMAC – the Association of Mature American Citizens,
and our more than 2 million members, I am writing to express our strong support for the Protecting
American Energy Production Act. This vital bill demonstrates a commitment to safeguarding the
American energy industry, which is critical to our economy, national security, and energy independence.

The Permian Basin, located in your district, has been at the forefront of the shale revolution, utilizing
hydraulic fracturing and horizontal drilling to transform the United States into a global energy leader.
Your legislation, which prohibits any federal moratorium on hydraulic fracturing, protects the thousands
of jobs created by this industry in Texas and across the country. Moreover, it ensures that America
remains a reliable energy producer, even as external challenges and misguided federal policies threaten
its future.

The Biden Administration’s recent actions to restrict offshore drilling and undermine domestic energy
production have caused unnecessary harm to the energy sector, increased costs for American families,
and weakened our national security. The Protecting American Energy Production Act is a critical
countermeasure to these harmful policies, affirming that America must continue to harness its abundant
natural resources to drive down costs, create jobs, and maintain energy independence.

Your broader vision to expand energy production, as outlined in your support for President Trump’s pro-energy policies, is equally commendable. Opening onshore and offshore leasing, repealing the natural
gas tax, authorizing LNG export facilities, and cutting burdensome regulations are essential steps to
revitalizing the energy sector and bolstering the United States’ position on the global stage. These
actions will also empower America to support its allies by providing reliable energy while holding major
polluters like China accountable.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment to the energy industry and for championing policies that
benefit hard-working Americans.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Weber
Chairwoman
