It’s a Good Time to be a Conservative

My wife decided recently that the Catholics in our county aren’t doing enough. Especially politically.

Many Christians have been lulled into the false belief that being a faithful follower of Jesus means eschewing politics. They are dead wrong.

All aspects of life in America have been politicized today. Not by Christians or patriots, but by those who do not share our values, most especially those who do not believe in God.

When the local community center, funded to the tune of $7 million dollars thanks to a special “property tax,” decided to host a Drag Queen story hour for children, Katie decided that she had to do something. She ran for the Community Board. This is from a lady who hates politics because she’s sane.

Katie was defeated in an election that saw an unusually high proportion of mail-in ballots. Sound familiar? That, however, did not deter her. She regrouped and found two other God-fearing women to join her, and this year, all three warrior-queens won their racers and were elected to office.

As a result of her first experience – and the poor showing in the national midterm elections – Katie decided her fellow “mackerel-snappers” weren’t doing enough. As a result, Fairfax County now has a new organization mobilizing Catholics to do something, and recently we had our first event, a little Christmas Party, to thank all our election volunteers and celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior. And how it recharged our patriotic batteries!

I didn’t know it at the time, but my muse had invited a special guest speaker, the indefatigable warrior for the unborn, Austin Ruse.

Austin runs an organization that fights relentlessly for the unborn, even against the United Nations. Please support the Center for Family and Human Rights if you can. But his speech wasn’t about the more than 63 million babies killed in the womb since Roe v. Wade, it was about the joy we should feel as Christians.

Joy, I hear you ask? Yes, joy. Why? Well, as Austin has detailed in his new book “Under Siege,” there is no finer time to be a faithful catholic or Christian. (Which is actually the subtitle of his book!)

And he’s right. Let me explain.

When does life as a Christian have clarity and meaning? When the foe is obvious. When the Enemy is strongest. When we live in a time that spiritually is a “target-rich environment,” to borrow a military phrase, our place and mission should be clear. How can one do the Lord’s will in idyllic times?

I don’t mean to be facetious, but good times breed softness. When the Devil walks the Earth and seems to dominate our political and popular culture, then “girding one’s loins” actually takes on a reality it otherwise rarely has in peacetime.

When young girls and boys are being mutilated and sterilized by “doctors” in the name of insane transgender ideology, when football coaches are fired for praying, and Catholics surveilled by the FBI for being Catholics, then we have no option to demonstrate to our Creator that we mean business and that church is just a Sunday social club meant to make us feel good.

De Tocqueville was right. One of the crucial aspects of what made, and still makes, America great is its volunteerism. It’s the sense that the nation is built by its local communities, by the people acting to preserve their beliefs and values at the level where most people work and live.

We are in a fight to save our way of life. Are you a soldier or a bystander? There are enough of the Enemy for each and every one of the true patriots out there. Are you one of them?

Matthew 5:14-16 Jesus says ” You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works, and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” We all need to stand firm in our trust in The Father, Son and Holy Spirit, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12.

Extremely upsetting to see a ROSARY and CRUCIFIX on the HOLY WORD, the BIBLE!! Jesus is NOT dead on the Cross, HE is alive, and praying to MARY an abomination!! JESUS was Conceived by the the HOLY SPIRIT in Mary, the Immaculate Conception is a FALSE Doctrine concocted by Roman Catholic Church, and ONLY Jesus Ascended into HEAVEN, not Mary!! That is CATHOLIC!!!
Jesus Christ is the ONLY Mediator between us and God!! The ONLY one to pray to, and WORSHIP!! That is CHRISTIANITY!!

We don’t all have to agree on everything but we do need to close ranks, unite and fight evil. I try not to get into religious “arguments” because, let’s face it folks, not a single one of us leads a pure sinless life and none of our various houses of worship gets everything right. We are called to be salt and light in a very dark world and we are commanded to hold the line until Yeshuah/Jesus returns as King.
I am reminded of pastor Martin Niemöller’s words:
“First they came for the Communists, and I did not speak out – becuse I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out – because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out – because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me – and there was no one left to speak out for me.”
As somebody who has already said on this thread:
“Redirect your fire towards the enemy”

Personally, I thought this was an excellent article. After reading 31 comments, I am amazed at how so many people pick each other apart using religion as their defense. “There are enough of the Enemy for each and every one of the true patriots out there. Are you one of them?”

It’s so sad that people who read this article have choosen to argue with fellow believers of God. Unite in as God’s Army where we are common to fight evil.

It’s an excellent time for Conservatives to volunteer and get involved (become poll workers or watchers) at their respective State polling places. Where the votes are actually handled and counted.

I am a very quiet soldier in a time when fighting for freedom has become hazardous to health. In America, Christians aren’t being rounded up and killed…yet, but I find myself very afraid.

To my sister in Our Lord, Christ Jesus, the prayers and meditations of the Rosary are taken straight from the Bible. If I may, Rosemary, can I ask you a question? Is it permissible in your Church to ask a fellow Christian to pray for you or someone else. If so you have asked them to become a mediator. When you consent to pray for someone, you become a mediator. We Catholics don’t believe in death. We believe in eternal life. We believe we are “surrounded by a cloud of witnesses” that Paul spoke of. Thus Mary and all in heaven can and do pray for us. Together with, in and through Jesus, Our Savior, we, the army of God in heaven and on earth are together all mediators! Yours in Christ and the love of God, Kathleen.

What do you mean, I think the Catholic church is doing a lot of political crap. They are involved as NGO’s helping biden and the crew traffic children and illegals across the southern and probably the northern borders, too. They are doing a lot of bad stuff.

Christian, yes. Catholic, only if you’re actually Christian and ignorant of RC doctrine. Much of RC doctrine is very far from Christ and very contrary to His Word.

Yeah, great time to be a conservative so we can all sit around saying “well, if they wouldaa listened to me…..”, as our country continues its decline.
The entire world with the possible exception of our lap dog the UK, HATES America and we deserve that hatred. We refuse to compete but instead we threaten and even steal. Our great leaders tell us that our next mean bad enemy is going to be China. Ask yourself a question…….what has China ever done as a threat to the United States other than to successfully beat us in industry and annihilate us in efficiency? We don’t want to go through all the work of competing so……..its war time. The way of the west.
No wonder people arent having kids like they used to. Who wants to raise a child just to see it killed in the next war against an enemy that doesnt exist outside our nations own laziness?
