Come visit a diverse city that sits on the Strait of Georgia and features stunning architecture surrounded by breathtaking mountains and deep green forestlands. The city is walkable and bike-friendly, and folks can enjoy a variety of fun regional activities including seasonal whale watching, music festivals, hiking nearby forests, and exploring along the city’s seawall.

Spring has thankfully arrived and with it comes warm weather and exciting opportunities to travel. Folks who are passionate about experiencing an adventure outside of the USA will delight in a trip to Vancouver, Canada. From the end of March, and well into April, about 43,000 cherry trees burst with color. The Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival, an annual springtime event, celebrates the beauty of the blossoms from April 1 through April 23, 2023. The arrival of milder weather offers folks opportunities to explore the energetic city on foot. With soaring mountains dominating the city’s background, and with so much to see and do, Vancouver is truly a one-of-a-kind amazing tourist destination.

Located in the lovely Province of British Columbia, Vancouver is often referred to as one of the most attractive cities in the world. The metropolis features a mix of new and old. Travelers will enjoy the modern architecture, such as the Living Shangri-la skyscraper, completed in 2009, as well as old-fashioned buildings to include Christ Church Cathedral built in 1888. The city also boasts shopping, dining, and lodging experiences. Plus, there are expansive urban spaces and gardens for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Sightseeing tours provide a great introduction to the city for newbies. Tours highlight Vancouver’s must-see sites including stops at Stanley Park, the city’s first, largest, and favorite urban park, and Granville Island, a peninsula and world-renowned shopping district in the Fairview neighborhood. Vancouver is also packed with museums including Science World, Vancouver Art Gallery, Museum of Vancouver, Museum of Anthropology, and Vancouver Maritime Museum, just to name some favorites. Of course, a trip to the city is not complete without a ride up Grouse Mountains Skyride, where folks are transported high above forests of Douglas fir to observe panoramic views of Vancouver, the beautiful Pacific Ocean, Gulf islands, snow-capped peaks, and more.

As the largest city in British Columbia, Vancouver is brimming with culture, history, and character. Also serving as a seaport city, Vancouver possesses a unique maritime vibrancy all its own. Considered a global hub and valuable crossroad for ocean-bound and river shipping lanes, there are opportunities to explore and even cruise the port. Visitors can also discover the intimate charm of the coastal city’s quiet seaside harbors. And there’s even a beach that allows families to maximize fun time spent outdoors. For those seeking a memorable spring or summertime vacation in a welcoming city outside of the U.S., Vancouver is the ideal place to go. And, as a bonus, visitors will have their choice of lodging, from opulent hotel options to comfortable inns, with most featuring a choice of unforgettable mountain, city, or ocean views.
