Bohemia, NY & Canton, CT – May 20, 2024 – Today, the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC) is excited to announce ScriptSaver Plus, a new prescription benefit program designed to help members save money on medications, through a collaborative partnership with Call A Doctor Plus.
ScriptSaver Plus is a low-cost monthly membership program designed to help AMAC members save up to hundreds of dollars on medications. The program offers over 800 of the most prescribed medications, including 128 acute and 688 maintenance medications for free. Medications are available at local pharmacies or delivered directly to your door, with exclusive savings on other medication including over-the-counter drugs.
“We’re dedicated to empowering our members and finding ways to reduce their healthcare burden,” said Kurt Meyer, Senior Vice President, Strategic Partnerships & Membership Services. “ScriptSaver Plus builds on that commitment by offering a valuable new benefit. We’re confident this program will help our members get the medications they need at a price they can afford.”
“Call A Doctor Plus is excited to partner with AMAC to offer ScriptSaver Plus to their valued members,” said Lou Daniels, Chief Executive Officer of Call A Doctor Plus. “This program aligns perfectly with our mission of making quality healthcare accessible and affordable. ScriptSaver Plus will not only provide AMAC members with significant savings on medications, but also connect them with Pharmacy Coaches enhancing their healthcare experience.”
AMAC members can learn more about ScriptSaver Plus and see if their medications are included by visiting the AMAC website.
About Call A Doctor Plus
Founded in 2011, Call A Doctor Plus has been at the forefront of the virtual care industry through its unique and dedicated approach to providing comprehensive, full-service virtual care programs. Through their commitment to education and utilization Call A Doctor Plus has been a perennial industry leader in delivering maximum return on investment through the programs they offer.
**Please Note: ScriptSaver Plus is a savings program, not a Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM). Unlike PBMs, this program does not involve clawbacks or spread pricing, practices often criticized by pharmacists nationwide.**
As a retired pharmacist and independent pharmacy owner, I am skeptical of this “benefit”. Another PBM ‘discount’ plan by a middleman with no skin in the game? Another one-sided contract that pharmacy owners are afraid to say no to? What is AMAC’s vetting process for benefits?
