As Americans, we have been enduring for almost four years the secret conspiratorial collaboration of an unholy trinity of leftist, anti-Trump, and anti-Constitutional high-wealth individuals, media moguls underlings, and political leaders. Their objectives are to defeat the President and resume single-party control of the White House and Congress. They have dishonored the responsibilities inherent in a free and fair media and the public trust, causing confusion, dissension, division, disruption, and injury to our republic and the American people.
Big Money
There genuinely exists a real “clique” of wealthy mega-donors funding “liberal” or progressive political activist organizations, also known as “outside advocacy” groups –and not candidate “connected.” According to Open Secrets, which tracks political spending, its data on the funding of liberal and progressive groups reflects what has been reported to the FEC and does not account for all money contributed. For the 2020 election to date, Open Secrets tabulation amounts to over $277 million from those contributing $1 million or more — many from hedge funds, internet technology, media, and Hollywood – to these outside groups. Among the mega-donors donors are:
- Thomas Steyer (NY) hedge fund — $46.04 million
- Michael Bloomberg (NY) financial information and media – $18.46 million
- George Soros (NY) hedge funds — $6.85 million
Perhaps, the most infamous mega-donor is George Soros. He has worked for years to facilitate Democratic wins at both the state and national levels by funneling money through leftist and Democrat-supporting organizations. Soros’ Open Society Foundation (OSF) and the Foundation to Promote Open Society (FPOS) are his network’s primary grantmaking arms. The Capital Research Center reports (August 12, 2020) these organizations “poured out nearly $9 billion between 2000 and 2018 into a huge array of left-wing think tanks, activist groups, environmental groups, and litigation no-profits that form the professional Left…” A third group, Soros’ Open Society Policy Center (OSPC) “…was a key funder to organizations that agitated against the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh…[as well as supporting] the Left’s immigration lobbying efforts…”
The conservative Judicial Watch (JW) also reports that the various activist and litigious groups receiving Soros funds are anti-Israel, anti-conservative judicial appointments, anti-educational choice, Planned Parenthood, and pro-abortion rights, anti-voter ID and vote integrity, and for open borders and illegal immigration amnesty.
Soros money also arrives at the ActBlue group, which is a legal money “launderer” funneling funds for a commission to left-wing and Democrat politicians, including “Biden for President,” according to the Capital Research Center.
Worse yet, JW has identified over 20 individuals in the Soros “revolving door” network and held policy positions in Obama’s administration — the White House, Justice Department, State Department, and USAID.
At the state government level, Soros and allied groups have contributed to various secretaries of state races – the offices typically in charge of elections. The Washington Times reported (June 23, 2011) reported that this group helped elect eleven “…progressive Democrats as secretaries of state to oversee the election process in battleground states and keep Republican political operatives from deciding who can vote and how those votes are counted.”
As an example of this strategy, the dubious multiple recounts ordered by the secretary of state in Minnesota resulted in the 2008 election of the Democrat Senator Al Franken by a 312-vote margin over incumbent Sen. Norm Coleman. He “won the election” in the initial count by 725 votes. The Democrats gained a 60-vote supermajority that year in the Senate.
In sum, Soros and the clique of leftist mega-donors fund outside groups that “launder” funds to leftist organizations and “tip” close elections. This is, sadly, “the-end-justifies-the-means” strategy and practice to elect Democrats and a “liberal” progressive agenda at the federal and state levels.
Media Moguls and the “News” as They Want You to Know It
The anti-Trump, pro-Democrat, and leftist bias of reporting on CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, and MSNBC is a well-recognized daily constant. Moreover, most urban-based opinion leader newspapers traditionally endorse Democrats. It is reasonable to believe these media organizations collaborate with Democrat leadership in support of “chosen” Democrats and against Republicans and the President.
For example, during the 2016 Democrat contest for the party nomination, Wikileaks, as reported by Observer Media in an August 8, 2016 article, revealed the media’s preference for Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders:
“The July Wikileaks release of nearly 20,000 Democratic National Committee (DNC) emails validated the concerns of Bernie Sanders supporters that the DNC helped rig the primary election for Clinton …[providing] a glimpse into how the DNC and the mainstream media work together … Some of the emails released show both CNN and Politico had articles pre-approved by the DNC prior to publication…”
To demonstrate the arrogance of leftist media to control news content, Mika Brzezinski, co-host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, said in February 2017, it is the mission of the press to “control exactly what people think.”
In commenting upon Brzezinski’s statement and at the same time in defense of the honest press, Jonah Goldberg in a National Review column wrote:
“… At the same time, it seems patently obvious that the “objective” press is in the business of subjectively shaping attitudes rather than simply reporting facts.”
One example of the press using terms to shade real meaning, Goldberg writes, is terming “illegal immigrants” as “undocumented” immigrants – a move “hailed by left-wing immigration activists because the term change blurs distinctions between legal and illegal. …”
On August 11, the Washington Times columnist Tammy Bruce flagged this:
“Media organizations have just been warned by the Democratic Party machine that they better be very, very careful with how they cover Joe Biden’s vice presidential choice — just revealed to be Kamala Harris. Any criticism of the expected woman will be considered racist and sexist, we are told. …”
In contrast, August 14, MSNBC’s Brzezinski on the Morning Joe shoe, ranted a full-blown Trump Derangement Syndrome media attack, saying:
“There’s a clear disdain that I have for this President, but look at the facts. Look at how he’s worn us down from his paid pornstar to Russia lies to racism in Charlottesville. Racism across the board. Children in cages. I mean lie after lie… Many of those [COVID] deaths, Mr. President, are on you…. Every day this President looks more ridiculous… [A]ppeal to members of his administration, those who still have a brain, those who aren’t somehow brainwashed by the cult leader, or those who aren’t such stooges…”
While protecting Democrats, the media leaders have apparently imposed an anti-Trump unwritten orthodoxy that led two editors to resign from major news organizations.
On July 14, 2020, NY Times opinion editor Bari Weiss’s resigned, writing:
“… Why edit something challenging to our readers, or write something bold only to go through the numbing process of making it ideologically kosher, when we can assure ourselves of job security (and clicks) by publishing our 4000th op-ed arguing that Donald Trump is a unique danger to the country and the world? And so self-censorship has become the norm.”
Also in July, MSNBC producer Ariana Pekary penned a blistering resignation letter comparing the broadcast news rating model to a “cancer” stoking national division:
“This cancer risks human lives, even in the middle of a pandemic”… “The primary focus quickly became what Donald Trump was doing (poorly) to address the crisis, rather than the science itself.”
Finally, relative to the current Presidential campaign, the Media Research Center reports ABC, CBS, and NBC evening newscasts for June and July provided 150 times more negative comments in their coverage of Trump than Biden – terming it” a negative advertising campaign in action.”
Specifically, the network anchors made 668 evaluative statements about Trump, 95 percent of which (634) were negative, vs. Biden’s mere five percent (34) of 8 positive and 4 negative comments.
Political Leaders and their Acolytes in the Deep State
We know that in 2016 before the election, the DNC funded in “collusion” with a corrupt “deep state” in the FBI and the Obama intelligence leadership to develop the now-debunked fraudulent “Russian Dossier,” to bully and entrap General Michael Flynn, among others as the first steps in that conspiracy.
We also know then-President Obama and Vice President Biden were briefed on the corrupt FBI operation “Crossfire Hurricane,” of which the Russia Dossier was the seminal tool.
The dossier was used by House Democrat leadership – and the anti-Trump left-leaning media — to begin a highly politicized impeachment process President in which to impugn him daily.
This also gave the left-leaning media a constant “feast” to use in their effort to “guide” the American people to reject the President either by impeachment or defeat. As Mika Brzezinski, co-host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, said, it’s the mission of the press to “control exactly what people think.”
While the fraudulent Russia-gate Democrat opportunity has since been “buried” by the media and the Democrats, frequent personal attacks by Speaker Pelosi and Senator Schumer against the President are laced into their commentary on legislative business, providing further grist for the leftist-media to publish. While there are so many examples of their impugning the President’s ability and character in this election year, here are a few:
- “As the president fiddles, people are dying,” said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on March 29, at the very outset of the COVID pandemic response.
- Called President Trump “A quack medicine salesman on television” for simply inquiring after a presentation from a Department of Homeland Security official about the effects of disinfectants and sunlight on the virus, whether the same techniques could be used as treatments inside the body. (Schumer, April 24)
- Blaming Trump for police teargassing violent Black Lives Matter protestors pelting them across from the White House after some tried to burn historic St. Johns church, Schumer and Pelosi said, “Yet at a time when our country cries for unification, this President is ripping it a part…At this challenging time, our nation needs real leadership. The President’s continued fanning of the flames of discord, bigotry, and violence is cowardly, weak, and dangerous.” (Pelosi—Schumer joint statement – June 1)
- “The President has made so many bad executive decisions. We wish he would make a good executive decision…” (July 16 Pelosi press conference)
- Dubbing President Trump “Mr. Make Matters Worse,” as a new nickname over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic. (Pelosi, July 26 on CBS’ “Face the Nation“)
Conclusion
This “unholy trinity” of the left-leaning, anti-Trump mega-donors, media moguls, and Democrat leadership and their attacks on the President and Republicans will continue because, sadly, their quest and actions for power and control are premised on the “end justifies the means.” Americans must be vigilant and reject the disinformation, lies, and misleading innuendo at the polls this November and vote for the best interests of our nation.
