Migrant Children – Another Victim of Biden’s Failed Border Policy

Now, courtesy of an investigative report from the New York Times, we know the Biden administration’s shocking and dangerous border policies have resulted in the expansive labor exploitation of immigrant children in the United States. We shouldn’t be surprised. Existing policy which unlocked and swung open the border sent a message to drug cartels, international organized crime, terrorists, and enemy nations that they were in charge. The chaos, crushing of the rule of law, and abuse of children all seemingly sanctioned by our federal government is inevitably soaking into the rest of our culture.

One of the many monstrous results of Biden’s policies and his knee-capping border enforcement is the flood of “unaccompanied minors” entering this country. What is happening to the children who survive the trek and make it into the country? In their blockbuster report, The Times describes the result after interviewing 100 migrant child workers in 20 states: “These workers are part of a new economy of exploitation: Migrant children, who have been coming into the United States without their parents in record numbers, are ending up in some of the most punishing jobs in the country… This shadow work force extends across industries in every state, flouting child labor laws that have been in place for nearly a century. Twelve-year-old roofers in Florida and Tennessee. Underage slaughterhouse workers in Delaware, Mississippi and North Carolina. Children sawing planks of wood on overnight shifts in South Dakota.”

We have laws prohibiting a variety of child labor, but according to the Times and reported by Fox News, major American companies allegedly using children as laborers include brands like Cheerios, Fruit of the Loom, Ford, and General Motors.

The Times also reports that the system is supposed to protect these children from exploitation but Biden’s policies have forced them to focus more on releasing them quickly to “sponsors” (less than a third of which are family members) because of the deluge. 250,000 unaccompanied minors entered the US during the last two years through the system and yet when Health and Human Services case workers tried to check on these children, they were unable to find 85,000 of them.

In December 2022, the New York Post Editorial Board eviscerated Biden for the border catastrophe, writing: “The fiscal year that ended September 30 [2022] saw a record 2.4 million migrants encountered at the southern border, up almost 40% from the previous year (which was already a record-breaker). There have been at least 207,000 encounters already in November, as well as 137,000 “gotaways” — migrants spotted but not stopped by Customs and Border Protection agents — since October 1.”

The Democrats have made illegally entering our country as inviting and as easy as possible: We now have an app so you can efficiently violate our immigration laws by scheduling a hearing and then be waved into the country. As Biden would say, no joke! It truly isn’t, it’s by design.

In typical Biden administration style, they did take a pause ruining the country and people’s lives for a moment and looked up after some bad press as the Times expose was published. Suddenly, the Biden gang thought they should do something and promised to crackdown on the exploitation of immigrant children. They’re going to create a “task force” to address the disaster of child exploitation they’ve created. The AP reported, “The growing problem has put Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra in the hot seat, with concerns mounting that migrant children have been discharged from shelters and out of federal custody too quickly, pushing them into vulnerable situations where they’re more likely to become victims of child labor.”

Notice how no one wants to talk about sex trafficking resulting from Biden’s heinous border and immigration policies. But as long as there are hundreds of thousands of children who are vulnerable and alone in a foreign country, and the responsibility of a government that is the source of the problem, the entirety of what is likely happening to these children is too appalling to contemplate.

If there was ever a non-partisan, apolitical issue, it’s the result of Biden’s immigration policy on children. America is better than this and demanding a return to Trump’s border policies, which we know worked, is where we must start. If the establishment continues to shrug about the issue and all that’s at stake, that tells us all we need to know.
