Like most Americans, I’m a romantic. I look optimistically at situations, and I expect the best to emerge. Despite the reality of our political situation, I applied that romantic ideal to last night’s remarkably vacuous, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz interview.
Here we had two women, CNN’s Dana Bash, and Kamala Harris, the current vice president and Democratic nominee for the presidency. I had noted on my Twitter/X account that Bash had a remarkable opportunity to prove the naysayers wrong by delivering an important and valuable interview of a woman who is clearly attempting to fake her way through an election.
Instead, Bash chose to be a helpmate, a facilitator of Harris’s pretense with leading questions, and a soft manner that no doubt allowed Harris and her comfort blanket running mate Governor Tim Walz unwarranted confidence in their cynical kabuki theater presentation.
Ironically, supporters of Harris, which are really supporters of a nameless and faceless bureaucratic system, would help her more by demanding that she adopt more respect for the American people and this process. That would require honesty and clarity but that is a bridge too far when the point itself is to obscure and manipulate.
Like an undergraduate who never studies and has skated along by using their superficial charm and excuses, Harris sounded like someone who was trying to fill the air with the required number of words expected on her essay. For the last 3 1/2 years she has faked it by hoping noise (often disguised as laughter) would be mistaken for deep thoughts and policy. Harris and her cronies are displaying not just a contempt for the American people, but a loathing for the inspired design by the Founders of our constitutional republic.
Some were left with the impression that we learned nothing about Kamala Harris during the interview. That’s because it wasn’t really an interview, it was a lullaby meant to put everyone to sleep. But I contend the embarrassing display revealed to everyone what Harris believes: That the American people are drooling idiots for whom the ruling class should have contempt and unrestrained control; that she has no duty to persuade the voters on the issues because only she and her friends know best. Keeping us in the dark is now the only path forward for a Democratic Party that is all in centralized planning and extremist controls. For them, our constitutional republic is an old irritant to be swatted away with word salads and laughter. And don’t forget, joy!
For decades, Kamala Harris has not been a shy woman. She was perfectly fine publicly stating loudly and clearly her desire to ban fracking, with not a beat, not a breath before making that declaration multiple times. Her statement on national television with Stephen Colbert that the 2020 riots were never going to stop and “shouldn’t stop” was done with giddy excitement. She had an actual event to announce her grocery price control scheme. In the CNN interview, trying to explain flip-flops she talked about her “values.” That was simply a wink to her left flank assuring them that her words might be different, but her intentions are the same.
When someone is lying to us, even by omission, our instinct alerts us to a serious concern. Every human being has an opinion about things that involve them. You must navigate the world and your life. You don’t need to go to a seminar at college to know what you believe in. So, when you see someone who wants you to hire them to be the leader of the free world and all their effort is spent on keeping you in the dark about what their policy is and what they believe, that tells you every single thing you need to know about them.
It would be bad enough if Harris was a completely empty vessel, but she’s not and that is what should concern every American. She has been open and clear about her distain for federal law enforcement, our national security by facilitating a chaotic and dismantled southern border, the encouragement of urban violence, and her open support of efforts to shield rioters and other criminals from accountability while keeping them on the street.
Harris reassured viewers that her “values” have not changed. Believe her, and then we must ask but what sort of value creates an economy that is destroying people’s lives? What value is it when crime makes it impossible to feel safe in your own home? What warped value makes it possible for wars to unfold around the world? The suffering, human trafficking, and drug smuggling made possible by unmitigated illegal immigration springs from what “value?” All these disturbed and destructive things have grown in the petri dish of Kamala Harris’s Values.
The vice president is vague and vacuous on purpose. Why? Because she remains betrothed to the policies that she knows will continue to do damage to this country. She works hard to say nothing and as many words as possible because she knows we do not want what she wants. We continue to mourn what we believed our lives could be before they were smashed by Biden, Harris, and that faceless bureaucratic mob embracing her as the willing and useful idiot that she is.
We are little over a week from the start of early voting. The Dana Bash/Kamala Harris lullaby was meant to satisfy a requirement without really exposing the Democrats’ true agenda. That interview was meant to reinforce and introduce Harris as the new Mary Poppins, but this is a Mary whose attitude, ideology, and plans will not restore and uplift families, but destroy them.
There is only one superhero in this story and it’s the American people. Donald Trump and his team will do as much as they possibly can to not just expose the fraud of Kamala Harris, but to remind the American people that he can and will introduce policies that will reverse this ignominious and vicious decline of our nation. But it’s what we do with that information that is important, meaning that we will not allow the gaslighting, lies, and manipulations of the establishment to push us off our righteous path.
