Dear Senator Lee,
On behalf of AMAC Action, the advocacy affiliate of AMAC – Association of Mature American Citizens, with over 2 million members nationwide, I write to express our strong support for your National Constitutional Carry Act.
As a conservative seniors organization representing Americans who deeply value constitutional liberty, personal responsibility, and the rule of law, we appreciate your leadership in defending our members’ Second Amendment rights. For many older Americans, the right to self-defense is essential. Seniors are often among the most vulnerable members of society and should not face unnecessary bureaucratic obstacles when exercising a constitutional right intended to protect their safety and independence. Law-abiding citizens should not risk criminal penalties simply for traveling across state lines while exercising their Second Amendment rights.
The Founders established the right to keep and bear arms as a fundamental liberty, not one that depends on a patchwork of state permitting systems or the discretion of local officials. Just as other constitutional rights are respected nationwide, the right to carry a legally owned firearm for lawful self-defense should be recognized consistently across the country.
With the majority of states already recognizing constitutional carry, your legislation helps ensure that the Second Amendment is respected as the fundamental right it is at the federal level. Our members strongly support your efforts to protect the ability of all responsible Americans, including seniors, to defend themselves and their families.
Thank you for your leadership on this issue and for your continued service to the nation.
Sincerely,
Andrew J. Mangione Jr.
Senior Vice President
