Dear Chairman Scott and Chairman Pfluger,
On behalf of AMAC Action, the advocacy affiliate of the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC), with over 2 million members nationwide, I write to voice our strong support for S. 3264 and its House companion, H.R. 6538 together, the More Affordable Care Act.
Seniors live on fixed incomes and feel the impact of rising health care costs more acutely than any other group. Premium increases, narrow networks, and confusing pricing structures have made it increasingly difficult for older Americans to plan for their medical needs or maintain financial security. Your legislation introduces reforms that emphasize competition, transparency, and consumer control, which are all principles that our members strongly support.
AMAC Action appreciates your focus on allowing individuals greater freedom to select coverage options that best suit their personal circumstances, including the ability to purchase plans beyond arbitrary geographic boundaries. Expanding access to portable, consumer-directed accounts that place resources directly under the control of patients will give seniors more flexibility and confidence when making health care decisions.
The More Affordable Care Act preserves current protections while modernizing the system to better reflect how Americans utilize their health care plans. By promoting price clarity and reducing reliance on top-down mandates, your legislation helps restore trust and accountability throughout the marketplace. America’s seniors deserve a health care system that respects their independence, rewards responsible choices, and makes care more affordable without sacrificing quality. The More Affordable Care Act moves us closer to that goal.
Thank you for your dedication to policies that strengthen health care access for seniors across the country.
Sincerely,
Andrew J. Mangione Jr.
Senior Vice President
