H.R. 6882 will prohibit funds disbursed through the Election Assistance Commission (EAC) from going to states that allow ballot harvesting by any individual and in unlimited amounts, and works to ensure the integrity of our elections.

The Honorable Rodney Davis
13th Congressional District of Illinois
1740 Longworth House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515
Dear Congressman Davis,
On behalf of the 2.2 million members of AMAC – Association of Mature American Citizens, including nearly 5000 residing in IL-13, I write to offer our support for H.R. 6882, the Election Fraud Prevention Act.
AMAC members are very motivated to vote in November and have consistently expressed their concern over the integrity of this particular election. They are well aware of how ballot harvesting, that is when any individual can pick up any voter’s ballot for any reason and deliver it to the polling location completely unchecked, could skew election results.
H.R. 6882 will amend the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) to prohibit funds disbursed through the Election Assistance Commission (EAC) from going to states that allow ballot harvesting by any individual and in unlimited amounts. It does allow for common-sense exceptions such as election officials, employees of the U.S. Postal Service, family members of the voter, household members of the voter, and caregivers of the voter to deliver the ballots of those truly in need.
Like most Americans, one of the most fundamental rights AMAC members greatly cherish is their privilege to vote and to have that vote count. They understand that free and fair elections is a hallmark of American liberty.
Thank you, Congressman Davis, for recognizing the threat that ballot harvesting poses to the honor of our elections. AMAC appreciates your work to ensure that every vote rightly counts and is pleased to offer our organization’s full support for H.R. 6882, the Election Fraud Prevention Act.
Sincerely,
Bob Carlstrom,
President, AMAC Action
