Christmas Trivia Answer Key with Bible verses

Mary, a righteous woman from Nazareth [Luke 1:26], will soon be wed to a good man named Joseph [Luke 1:27]. Mary, who is a virgin [Luke 1:27], is visited by the angel Gabriel [Luke 1:28], who says, “Do not be afraid, for you have found favor with God [Luke 1:30].”

The angel told Mary, “You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus [Luke 1:31]. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David [Luke 1:32], and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end [Luke 1:33].”

Joseph was a faithful man and did not want to expose Mary to public disgrace; he had in mind to leave (or divorce) [Matthew 1:19] her quietly. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream [Matthew 1:20] and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife because what is conceived in her is from the holy spirit [Matthew 1:20]. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus because He will save people from their sins [Matthew 1:21].”

All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel [Matthew 1:23](which means “God with us”).”

Mary and Joseph travel to Bethlehem [Luke 2:6], where she gives birth to Jesus [Luke 2:7], swaddles him in clothes, and lays him down in the manger [Luke 2:7]. Nearby, in the fields, several Shepheards [Luke 2:8] are keeping watch over their flock when they are visited by an angel [Luke 2:9] who says to them, “Do not be afraid. Today, in the town of David, a Savior has been born to you, He is Christ the Lord (or the Messiah) [Luke 2:11] .”

The baby is soon visited by three wise men [Matthew 2:1], who are guided by a star [Matthew 2:2] to the location, bringing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh [Matthew 2:11], each representing a piece of the new world coming to worship this new King.

Today, this holy birth is celebrated as Christmas. It is a time when we keep love and kindness in our hearts and thank our Savior, who died for our sins – blessing all of us – God’s children.
