This week, AMAC Action submitted comments to the record for a House Energy and Commerce Committee hearing entitled “Legislative Proposals to Support Patients and Caregivers.” AMAC Action is recommending that the committee consider the HEALTH Act, sponsored by Congressman Daniel Webster when considering solutions for doctors and patients alike.

The HEALTH Act would allow doctors to treat Medicaid and CHIP eligible patients for a simple charitable tax deduction instead of taking any reimbursement or payment for care. That means less crowded emergency rooms, better solutions for Medicaid and CHIP eligible patients, and more flexibility for doctors. Our AMAC Action team continues to work with leaders in Congress on solutions that improve quality of care and lower healthcare costs for seniors.
