After reading some of the prior comments from fellow AMAC members, it’s truly sad to see how many conservatives allow themselves to be dispirited and manipulated by left-wing media into hating the Olympics. By emphasizing a relatively few negative aspects, America’s left seeks to minimize viewership of the Olympics among Americans because there is too much patriotism, too much individuality, too much patriotism, too much competition, too much patriotism, and – perhaps worst of all – there are winners and losers, and the losers do not get a participation trophy. Conservatives who reject the Olympics instead of enjoying it with their children & grandchildren and/or rooting for the USA are playing into the left wing’s anti-American strategy.

Never watch the Olympics. Used to care how many gold medals we brought home, not anymore. Nothing but politics and whining from spoiled athletes. Sportsmanship seems to be a thing of the past, take the Canadian hockey team for instance, whose representative took off her silver medal. She should be ashamed and her country must be so proud.

I watched the final in men’s curling; it was great! The team was not political and they won the GOLD! The entire team sang the national anthem with their hand over their heart. This event was as exciding to watch as the Astro winning the world series. You might want to go back and watch the final event; especially the 8th end; it was amazing. BTW I like the bobsled, ski jump, alpine, speed skating, and curling (biathlon is ok). Also, I agree with a lot of the negative comments posted here (what did you expect to hear from the democrat media?) but… that’s what the mute button is for, silence.

I saw most of the Olympics but was confused with what stations showed what every
day. Also the downhill skiing was so hard to hear the anouncer over the crowds most of
the time, very frustrating.
Lastly I did not care for the announcers from the US on the ice skating scene-
know Scott has been under the weather but really would have liked a change
from Tara and Johnny.

As a lifelong athlete since First Grade, I’m sorry to hear that politics has spoiled the Olympics for so many other AMAC members, as indicated by their comments below. Fortunately, I gave away my TV many years ago, so I view the Olympics now by watching post-event highlights and replays on NBColympics.com, where I have seen zero politics. (When I want to mix politics with the Olympics, I’m happy to listen to talk radio and hear the honorable VP Mike Pence speak in Free Korea.) My favorite Olympic sport by a hair is ski jumping, which fascinated me as a kid and still does, even though USA is not much of a contender, despite the fact that we have 4 men + 4 women competing this year. (USA has a 94-year medal drought in ski jumping.) Nevertheless, I say “GO USA!” in ski jumping and all other Olympic events. GO USA!

I purposely did not watch any of the events with the sole exception of the fantastic ladies hockey game with the U. S. taking the gold metal. It was heartwarming and so patriotic to see our American ladies wrap themselves in several U. S. flags and all of them sing along when the National Anthem was being played after the game. I agree with many of the other comments in this reply section regarding the disgusting and embarrassing: NBC, the obvious hyping of homosexuality and transgenders, the bashing of our President and country, the dignifying of North Korea and its representatives and just the lib and global perspective throughout.

Haven’t watched any of the new breed spoiled athletes of the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB during the regular season in a decade and stopped watching their world championships playoffs in several years. Only watched minutes of the Super Bowl this past year because Tom Brady is one of the few good guys.

I will not let some obnoxious people ruin my enjoyment of the Olympics – winter or summer. Our grandchildren compete in hockey, snowboarding, bmx, etc. so it is a time when we can all sit down as a family together and enjoy watching and cheering on the people competing in the sports they are interested in. When they are older they can listen to the politics …. for now they just enjoy the competition.
