Many of these aren’t even “sports” as far as I am concerned. If there is a competition of some sort where points are given for a goal, much like hockey, then yes, that is a “sport”. Any other activity where points are given by a panel of judges, like snowboarding or figure skating… nope. Not a sport. Sorry, but that’s how I feel about it. I don’t watch stuff like this anyhow. It’s got too political for me anyway. (And yeah, I don’t watch the NFL either for the same reason) 😉

I have not watched this Winter Olympics due to a Trader( Not giving credit to her name, We all know who she is), of our Country not acknowledging our Great American President along with the fact that North Korea was a part of the Olympics. Make America Great Again !!!! Go President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence

What with the blatant in your face homosexuality, anti American propaganda and “trans” people being accepted to participate in opposite gender events I’m through with the Olympics.

Have only watched the Olympics once in my life! When I was Nine years old and sick in bed for a week, I watched the ’64 winter Olympics (Mainly Luge and Bobsledding) because the
only alternative was dopey soap operas on TV (only 3 channels back then). Would never waste my time watching supposed adults playing silly games. I Have Never watched any Sports, EVER!

Favorite Sport….most anything that does not adhere to subjectively selecting winners. Judges are biased and generally only have self interest at heart. How about something like bobsled or luge. Timed events….unless the time keeper is crooked too, these are events for which only the participants are responsible for their scores.

Can’t get interested in the Olympics any more. The competitive atmosphere of the games, the athletes, and the institution itself, have become second in importance to political “messages” put forth by participating countries. Even some athletes (ours included) have developed this Hollywood” style attitude. They’re just not that important.

Unlike many below, I enjoy the Olympics. You left out a large category and one that I do believe is a ‘sport’ – all the sliding events: Luge, Skeleton and Bobsled. This is man/woman and metal against a very steep long icy track at 80+ miles per hour. Love it!

I recorded the Olympics so I could fast forward past the traitorous athletes of our country who showed great disrespect to our President which was also disrespect toward our country. I also fast forwarded past NBC commentators who in the USA broadcast outright lies and hate our country (fake news to promote their agenda). I felt that the overall NBC News coverage was poorly done and was jammed with commercials. They were poor representatives for our country and it is no wonder why a lot of people did not watch the olympics.

Since my favorite is ice skating, I will only comment on that.
I was surprised to see how many comments are about the politics and the reasons people are not watching.
And, yes, the judging is often subjective. But it seemed to me not as much this time.
My disappointment is that figure skating judging, to keep it more objective, is now about the number of jumps and how well they are executed and does not seem to stress the artistry. A lot of skaters were gorgeous but missed the top. The gal from Canada should not have scored so much lower than the Russian girls. The girl that won was not nearly as beautiful as the girl who got the silver but because the first did more jumps.
I’d have made it Canada, first, then reversed the top two and made the second the second and the first the third.
The Americans were beautiful but made errors. Too bad.
And so it goes.
I love the athletes and their efforts and celebrate that. But I do wish they would be apolitical as they claim to be, keeping the athletics as the focus. But these days, people can say they are apolitical all they want, everything is political. Too bad.
