AMANDA HEAD: with all of the crises percolating across the entire globe. We need a guest who can talk on many different issues and it just so happens that we have the perfect person. It’s former assistant secretary of state as well as a former U. S. Court of Appeals clerk and AMAC spokesperson. He’s also the author of the book Parish America Stories of Courage.

Character and kindness. Bobby Charles. We talked to him earlier.

JOHN SOLOMON: All right. Joining us now, former assistant secretary of state, as well as former us appeals court clerk and AMAC national spokesman. Also the author of the book cherish America stories of courage, character, and kindness. Go get this book folks.

It is a winner. He’s our good friend, Bobby Charles, Bobby, welcome back. It’s a great, always great to be with you guys. All right. I know I want to get down to business, but I want to talk about this book. This is such an inspiring book. It captures stories that might otherwise be lost that inspire, educate, and remind people that in America, we have both courage and character, and we also have a little bit of kindness.

BOBBY CHARLES: We do, I’ll tell you, this book was six years in the making and it started out just knowing some great people. A good friend of mine who was one of the F 16 pilots, that was a chase pilot on nine 11, other great friends who were in the military, civilian mothers, fathers, just people who have done unbelievable things and are right at our elbow and we, don’t know it.

And you can get it by the way, at tower publishing, or tower pub. com. But the gist of this book. Cherish America, stories of courage, character, and kindness is that these three qualities really remind us that America is great because America is good and these stories will warm your heart. they are, they’re miraculous stories, guys that go way out on a limb to save other people, law enforcement officers who go above and beyond.

Some of the stories just, and some of them are even closer to home. there’s a long and good story. I’ve known him for quite a long time, about Scott Hamilton. And how he ended up being a gold medalist at the Olympics. There are, stories about people who, who are everyday people, but have extraordinary things in their character.

And so if you’re looking for something to make you feel good about America, it kind of points on a piece of paper that when you put them all together, they become a Seurat picture. And you say, God, I love this country. That is the book. Cherish America.

JOHN SOLOMON: What a great contribution. Great stuff.

AMANDA HEAD: I love that.

Absolutely. and you, have traded wisdom with some of the most courageous people. I noticed at least three astronauts from the Apollo missions on this list among presidents. And I want to ask you about the leadership aspect of this, especially working in conjunction with president Ronald Reagan.

when leadership is good, when you have a strong white house, sometimes I hate to say it, you don’t even notice it because things are just good. You’re not noticing conflicts popping up all over the world. But when leadership is bad. That’s when you notice it

BOBBY CHARLES: boy, isn’t that true, Amanda? It’s, we are blessed to have lived in an era.

We are the last generation to have known the world war two vets. Some of them are in this book, but we’re also blessed to have lived in a generation where we knew Ronald Reagan as a real leader. and just before that, we knew the concept of thinking really, big and then doing the things we dreamed of doing.

And in some cases had to do. So you, went from world war two to, a mere 25 years later, being able to, walk on the moon. Such an extraordinary thing. And in this book, by the way, there are personal stories. I worked with a lot of, as you say, a lot of the astronauts. I was very close to Walt Cunningham, who is Apollo seven, very good friends also with Gene Cernan.

And finally, I’ve worked for 25 years with Buzz Aldrin. Buzz is the true truest American there is. He’s a. He walks the walk. He, is an ambassador to the future. he took enormous risks for this country and he did so with such a clean, clear, simple heart that he really, like all of them, he was willing to die for this country.

And he also found a way to, There’s some stories in this book that will really shock people. They almost did not get off the moon. And as Buzz quietly retells that story, and I’ve heard it a dozen times in 25 years, it’s still, sends a shiver up my spine because it was only for the resourcefulness of those men at that time, that we ended up with a successful mission and ultimately a surrogate, for the end of, the conflict with the Soviets.

So really an extraordinary book, Cherish America. And I encourage people just go to tower. Hersh. Tower Publishing or tower, pub. com. And the more you order, them for a, corporate environment or, whatever it is, and you get cheaper and cheaper prices, and I’ll even come out and sign them and speak to people because to my view, this is the heartbeat of America, people, not, I love the constitution.

I love our history, but the American people are why we are great. And if we can just remember that, then there is nothing that’s out of reach for us.

JOHN SOLOMON: And so many of those great people, the ones that inspire us are members of AMAC at AMAC.US/JUSTNEWS. Go there, folks, and join people like Bobby and me, card carrying members.

Bobby, I want to talk a little bit about the one year anniversary of the atrocities in Israel. The world is aflame. All of Iran’s proxies cashed with the flush that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris gave them, causing havoc. Houdis, Hezbollah, Hamas. it seems like peace through appeasement has maybe failed.

BOBBY CHARLES: We clearly have a choice here between those that subscribe to appeasement, which never works, and those that subscribe to deterrence and strength through, really, being able to deter our enemies and have peace through strength. And ultimately, if we do fight a war, winning the war. what a tragedy we are witnessing.

We’re witnessing, and Amanda, I’m going to go back to your point a moment ago. When there is no leadership, it becomes, painfully clear. So what do we have? We have had no leadership in the Middle East to the point where there’s ambivalence toward one of our best allies in all of a history of the modern America.

And we’re letting, we literally have let our end of the kite string go. We’re not paying attention to the fact that our ally, Israel needs us right now. we’ve indulged, or I say, we, this administration, Harris and Biden have indulged with absolute impunity, one of the most heinous country’s leadership ever to be on the face of the planet, and that’s Iran’s leadership.

They are the underwriters, the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world, they are the underwriters of Hezbollah, of Hamas, of a bunch of other organizations, as John, you mentioned, Ahoudi, in Yemen. They are the underwriters of instability globally, and this administration Blinken and Biden and Harris have been doing nothing but appease them.

And then you come home and you look at the absence of leadership. Why do we have illegal aliens causing, 13, 000 convicted murderers, and we now just, this week found out, causing the kinds of chaos in this country, the, fentanyl crisis through the roof, the open border, the, and then of course, an economy that’s on the rails.

Why all of it is the one 80. you had. Real leadership under people like Reagan and Trump, you have a 180 here, you bleached all the leadership out, there’s almost nothing there, and our allies know it, don’t think for a minute, and I talk with people around the world, don’t think for a minute that they don’t see the difference, they would love, in many ways, our allies to see Donald Trump right back there again, and, frankly, the reason that China and Iran are And Russia, are, quietly supporting, Kamala Harris, is they would just love to be able to walk over the United States for another four years.

JOHN SOLOMON: They sure would. That’s why Iran’s out there trying to assassinate President Trump. it’s such a clear thing. A lack of leadership leads to a lack of strength. A lack of strength equals a lack of peace. That’s what we’ve been living through the last three and a half years. Bobby, always a great honor.

Folks, if you want to be surrounded by the wisdom and common sense that Bobby brings every week to this show, go to amac us slash just news for just this month. AMANDA HEAD: There isn’t hardly anything out there these days as a dollar, certainly nothing of that much value. All right, everybody, we are still awaiting president Trump at that October 7th remembering remembrance event.

So we just have one more break to get to, and then we’re going to get you out to president Trump as soon as he steps up. Thanks for staying with us.
