AMAC Supports Bill to Save Babies Born Alive After an Attempted Abortion

This bill directs lifesaving measures to ensure the survival of babies born alive after an attempted abortion and penalizes those who would ignore the law.

Dear Senator Thune,

On behalf of the more than 2.1 million members of AMAC, the Association of Mature American Citizens, and over 11,200 members residing in South Dakota, I write to convey our passionate support for S. 204, a bill to protect children born alive after an attempted abortion.

It is a terrible reality that our society has ever allowed a healthy pregnancy to be terminated at all. It is especially heinous that a child, who fought for their own life despite an evil attempt to abort them, and by the grace of God was born, should again face an enemy that intends to terminate their life. It is indeed murder in accordance with not only 18 U.S. Code § 1111, but also by any definition in all 50 states and all the territories and land of the United States. Murder is not only a crime prohibited by man, but a grievous sin prohibited by God (Exodus 20:13).

This bill recognizes the right to life that each child, and indeed each human has, not only granted by God, but codified in our Declaration of Independence. This bill defines children born alive, directs lifesaving measures to ensure their survival, and penalizes those who would ignore the law.

AMAC thanks you, Senator Thune, and your cosponsors, for protecting our children; and ultimately the future of our Nation when its welfare passes on to their hands.
