Washington, D.C. – AMAC Action strongly opposes the Biden administration’s cuts to Medicare Advantage, a policy which breaks the president’s explicit promise to American seniors and will force millions of beneficiaries to pay more out-of-pocket for their care.

In public comments submitted to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, AMAC Action condemned President Biden’s decision to slash Medicare Advantage benefits for the second year in a row, despite again promising during his 2024 State of the Union Address to never cut benefits.

With more than 31 million Americans receiving their benefits through Medicare Advantage plans – which are documented to save seniors nearly $2,000 in total annual out-of-pocket and premium spending compared to traditional Medicare – this most recent round of cuts will leave many seniors on fixed incomes at risk of being unable to afford their care.

Medicare Advantage plans are particularly important for middle- and low-income Medicare recipients. In 2022, 52 percent of Medicare Advantage beneficiaries lived below 200 percent of the federal poverty level.

AMAC Action President Bob Carlstrom said, “The Biden administration’s attack on the Medicare Advantage program is an attack on America’s seniors. These very popular plans deliver great health outcomes while offering tremendous value to beneficiaries, many of whom are struggling to make ends meet thanks to Bidenomics. Medicare Advantage has also been proven to lower health expenditures and we ardently advise this administration to strengthen this program instead of weakening it.”

Every American senior deserves care that is both affordable and meets their needs. President Biden’s cuts to Medicare Advantage needlessly make achieving both of these outcomes more difficult.

Leave Medicare/Medicare Advantage plans alone. 98% of us have worked all our lives paying into the system and now the dementia ridden old fart would rather pay for medical, schooling and housing for ILLEGALS than us. We need to get rid of his sorry liberal a**.

At retirement I elected to stay enrolled in the Medicare plan, and purchase a “Medigap” secondary insurance plane to cover the 20% of the Medical charges not covered by Medicare. I declined the Medicare Advantage option because it is a commercial health care plan, and it requires certain compromises that the Medicare plan does not.
And now, the government is trying to cut back on its subsidies to the commercial Medicare Advanced program. Did I mention that I never trust the government to keep its word on anything?

Medicare Advantage plans are “civilian” plans, owned and operated by the free market. They do not fit in to total government control of medical care. So the Communist (Biden and the Democrats) want it gone.

Control! Control! Control! biden and his corrupt minions think nothing of sending billions of dollars to countries killing each other, but, keeping money in America to help the actual hard working tax payer is a no no! I hope voters wake the heck up in November!!!

I see a lot of these sort of articles from AMAC Action all the time. So I have to wonder, what exactly is AMAC doing about this aside from simply saying they are against it. When you state you are against something, one typically has to provide either an explanation of what the organization proposes to be done on the issue or offers up a few options that can be done to address the issue in a meaningful way. Obviously, this administration and Democrats in general don’t view seniors as a high priority voter base given the vast majority of us understand socialism / Marxism isn’t good for the country’s future.

Simply saying you are against something is not a solution that corrects the issue. Clearly this administration wants to divert spending away from a group, in this case meaning seniors, to another group that will vote solidly Democrat in upcoming elections. Democrats are nothing, if not completely transparent in their motives after all. However, simply sending letters back and forth to federal government agencies, which are all aligned with the Democrat agenda and that openly ignore even Congress on a regular basis, isn’t about to move the dial in any meaningful way.

Things have to change people. The list is long and something added every day that this administration either implements or blunders. The lies are non stop. Now we’re dealing with the protests on our college campuses. We’ve had it. All the money being spent on these wars that could have been prevented. Now we want to make cuts to Medicare Advantage. Vote and MAGA .

The problem lies with the push to expand Medicaid coverage which costs to the user are entirely supported by government funding, so taking funds from the programs that are for senior healthcare ( hence not considered a necessary coverage–why should seniors be kept healthy and alive, when we are not contributing anymore with wage taxes). Where else is that money coming from to cover healthcare costs for those newly arrived residents who are not yet processed legally with properly documented paperwork?

I am low income and I wouldn’t touch one of those Medicare Advantage plans with a ten foot pole. They are HMO plans with too many restrictions. Those insurance companies must be making a fortune off them or they wouldn’t advertise them so hard.

This is only communist Joe’s plan to keep spending money to gain his position in the White House time for him to go but what is scary is people will still vote for him because so many Dems have so much hatred for Trump they see nothing but the end of the world and it will be for this country under Biden and Harris, we need change and now hopefully it will come this year.

Biden just handed Trump another major advantage. Immigration and inflation alone should make Trump a shoo-in but Biden just keeps on giving

A person commented yesterday it looks like, “Jerry”, that he was low income and wouldn’t touch one of those things. I assume he’s speaking about Medicare Advantage. It’s not really a choice Jerry.Either you pay the bill, or you don’t have coverage. It’s not free.A good portion of seniors who receive or buy Medicare Advantage, are definitely not living on easy street. It’s all about choices, and unfortunately Joe Biden and his cronies all who are corrupt as hell- hold all the cards.I don’t accept it,I resent it and for sure didn’t expect to be living my senior years like this.

I think I’m jaded in regard to the detrimental decisions of this administration. The coverage cuts of the Medicare Advantage plans are going to have a very serious effect on the medical care for so many. Just so people understand, Medicare, Medicare Advantage are NOT free to to seniors. I suggest that people need to educate themselves, the Medicare Advantage site which is supposed to ” inform” new, existing customers with information, costs. It’s quite an eye opener and I frankly resent President Biden breaking a major promise to the public, voters to leave the medical care for seniors alone. To place people who are on fixed incomes to make choices because of this?To put billions of our taxpayer money into funding the “illegal ” aliens, and then this? really highlights what a complete dirty s**t Joe Biden, administration and so many other corrupt officials are in real life. We expect a job to be done for our citizens and their country- not an unreasonable expectation. God Bless America! ????????

Democrats with the help of DC entrenched Republicans have spent themselves to the point it is unsustainable. So our future is more taxes and fewer benefits. The leadership we elected, or tolerate, has stolen our children’s future. With the America haters and the globalists working together we may have no America soon. We have to vote conservatives in not just this November but for the next ten years in order to repair the damage.

If he’s so determined to do this maybe he should also remove permanent health care and other benefits for all federal employees and members of the executive branch, including him and his family, and members of Congress.
