Sugar-Coating Castro

cubaBy Diana Erbio – Fidel Castro is dead.  Sadly, his ideology is not. Since 1959, Cuba was under the cruel rule of Fidel Castro, yet many in the media, entertainment and our government are sugar-coating Castro’s legacy. Why? Could it be that they are attempting to transform history before our very eyes?

The act of reconstructing history is nothing new. It makes sense that those who wish to control others would use history as a tool. Orwell expressed the notion in his prescient novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, “Who controls the past, controls the future; who controls the present controls the past.” It is important for us to be aware of that when studying history. Presently, we are witnesses to the crafting of a false narrative that is meant to serve as the historic record that future generations will learn history from. It is amazing to watch the process. It is also scary.

Those of us who have lived during the decades of communist aggression in our world, and have followed the news as history unfolded and know about the formation and fall of the Soviet Union, China and Mao’s Cultural Revolution, the Cold War, the Berlin Wall, Castro’s threats to America and John F. Kennedy’s response, are flabbergasted to see the history being rewritten and in some cases erased.

What worries me most is that the young generations are being taught that socialism is good, while capitalism and individualism is bad. They are not taught how capitalism has raised more people from poverty than any other system. They are not being taught that the cost of “free” stuff supposedly from the government is not free. The cost is actually their freedom.

During the Cold War, Margaret Thatcher, British prime minister and fierce supporter of liberty pointed out a major defect of socialism’s structure. “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.”

Winston Churchill also recognized the shortfalls of socialism. He said, “Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.”

The travelers on the progressive path are happy to block or cover over the  parts of their trail that  led to destruction and despair of millions of innocents. The true-believers that think the state is the solution and individual freedom is an obstacle to be removed will use any tactic to get to that end. If they can distract or re-educate those who do not agree with this statist approach they will.  If not, then those like Fidel Castro who believed in Stalin’s more hostile method which was explained using an omelet analogy, “You have to break eggs to make an omelet”,  will step in.  Although via research, it seems, Stalin did not actually use those words, but he did in fact  “break many eggs” to force his will on millions.

Hopefully the true history of Fidel Castro and other tyrants will be preserved. The true history that shows that the social justice ends, progressivism promises, have never actually been achieved. The faithful that believe that the progressive pursuit of redistributing wealth to achieve equality is the only way will not stop. The only hope is that those who long to believe that progressivism will lead to “free” stuff for all, will study the facts of history and see that this system always leads to the “free” stuff not being free at all. The cost of the promised free stuff is individual freedom. The progressive ploy is a power grab, contrived to control.

Last I heard, Cuba gets billions of dollars in “humanitarian aid” [kickback money] from Russia, Sweden, and the Netherlands. And Cuba is just a small country – 1/30th the population of the US. It sure would be nice if someone gave US a proportionate distribution of charity every year. I spoke with my plumber, a US citizen who spent the first 12 years of his life in Cuba. Socialism in Cuba means everyone lives a substandard life while the rulers live in the lap of luxury. Socialism is just lip service.

Socialism does not work., But it does have the capability of fooling a large number of people.

look at gratis books.com to see history of Castro in Bogotá when he was a 21year old law student in Havana selected to lead ten to burn the city where American Ambassador William D. Pawley came from Brazil to lead the formation of the OAS to counter Soviet Imperialism efforts in S.and Central America.

Pawley later generated from his State Dept post a way to free Cuba that would have worked except the higher-ups got JFK to ruin the plan! Then you begin to see why Castro was willing to let all in Cuba die if he could just launch nukes into the U.S.- only 90 miles away!

Communism: You have two cows. The government takes both and gives you the milk.
Fascism: You have two cows. The government takes both and sells you the milk.
Nazism” You have two cows. The government takes both and shoots you.
Bureauccratism: You have two cows. The government takes both, shoots one, milks the other and throws the milk away
Socialism: You have two cows. You give one to your neighbor.
Capitalism: You have two cows. You sell one and buy a bull.

I don’t know who came up with this comparison, but it makes sense. The first four clearly show the government in full charge. Re number five: What if my neighbor already has five cows?

I’ll take the sixth option any time.

This happened a few days ago. to my cousin’s wife uncle Eduardo Pacheco, a leader in the Democratic Recovery Movement in Cardenas, Cuba. They had been informed that his home was invaded by government officials and he was beaten unconscious. After, he was sent away in a ambulance where not even his wife was allowed to ride with him. He is now incarcerated and they have no other information.
His crime: Refusing to pay tribute to Fidel Castro at the Plaza de Revolución.
These are the stories NOT reported during the islands nine days of “mourning

One of the socialist/communist favorite sayings is “A lie repeated enough will eventually become the truth”. Then there was old socialist and union thug Saul Alinsky’s #13 Rule from his Rules for Radicals: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” (i.e.) Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.
By the 1940s, the FBI had compiled a list of some 300+ commie spies with in our federal bureaucracy. FDR, Truman and even Ike knew about this list, yet, did nothing. Evidently old J Stalin had them in his pocket. The first war against communism was the Korean War that Mao Zedong started and ended up in a tie. When hard core anti commie JFK took over and purged them, they had him murdered. By the late 1960s, the commies were at it, again, with their commie led riots and protest against the US war against communism in S Vietnam. WE know how that turned out. Today, we are still fighting communism around the World. The UN and EU elites have been taken over by Georgie Soros and his commie friends. We Free people need to be vigilant against communism and follow their money, especially to our elected officials. Freedom is NOT Free, it must be bought and paid for with Sacrifice, Blood, Pain, Sweat and Tears. Thanx for the blunt truth, Rik. Similar to the fact that no one in gov’t or media has, for 8 yrs., been willing to call ovomit what he is, either – a muzlim who’s done his best to weaken America with the help of his muzlim cabinet, AG and all their fellow ideologists illegally flooding our country.. The current Pope is a socialist who loves commieobama who, naturally, glorifies another of his idols, castro. Forcing Common Core into our schools and down our innocent kids throats is designed to further erase our American and world history and heroes, to make them vulnerable to socialist teachings by instructors to dumb or weak or brainwashed to insist on better for our kids.

History has recorded the fact that Obama was raised in both a muslum AND a communist environment. His family and their friends were hard core communist. One friend, Frank Marshall Davis, even published a communist news paper in the US. His Step Father, Lolo Soetoro, was a communist. When Obama’s parents abandoned him, he lived with his mothers parents, hard core card carrying communist in, of all places, Chicago, a hot bed of communism. After a short period of time, they sent him to live with the communist family of the infamous Bill Ayers (the Weather Underground). It is speculated that this is where he was groomed to become the POTUS.
So, we need to end this question of whether Obama is a communist or not. He IS a closet communist and muslum. Most, if not all, of his advisors and WH staff, especially Val Jarrett, are communist and some muslum. Those that just love Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Castro, Che, Ho, Pol Pot, and many other murderous commies. So, give it up progressives, liberals, socialist and/or commies, we know how you operate, behind the scenes and under the cover of darkness. Your “we have to pass it so we will know what’s in it” bull crap doesn’t get it any more. We know how you operate.

It may be too late, they will not stop just because Repubs have control, they will hammer it home until they destroy this country or cause a revolution, the likes of which we have never heard of.

At least Diana’s one lone voice crying out in the wilderness has been joined by somewhat similar thinkers’. Thanks to PaulE, Rik, Helen and Gilly for adding aspects of our problem that often get overlooked. And miracle of miracles, this week her article was included in the newsletter as PaulE indicated it should be.
Things to remember as we continue to seek truth: the difference between the left and the right as posed by the adversaries of WWII was between national vs world socialism; globalism is a movement away from nation states (believed to foment war between nations); British Fabians were for gradualism/Soviet Communists were for world revolution (right now, not later); the West has succumbed to the progressive/ socialist doctrins through infiltration into our cultural, educational, religious and political establishments;
any good that a new administration in Washington might accomplish can and likely will be done away with when after four or eight years we “kick the bastards out.” The only way to prevent that is to replace the establishment Representatives and Senators with Constitutionalists (it all hinges on the Congress).

On the radio at American Family Radio this past Friday morning, December 2nd,I listened intently after doing a double shift at work to Sandy Rios’s radio program at seven a.m.. In it she interviewed Raphael Cruz father of Senator Ted Cruz and Chris Farrell. In this broadcast, Cruz shares that he personally knew Castro and knew of him as a devoted Communist leading an uprising in Bogota, Colombia, long before the Cuban revolution that he led and caused. Mr. Farrell shares how he interviewed and prepared a declaration on behalf of Eugenio de Sosa Chabau, a former newpaper editor, whose family had owned and published the oldest newspaper in Latin America. Because he spoke out against Fidel Castro, de Sosa was imprisoned for twenty years by Fidel Castro and along with the other exiles noted Cuban Exiles File Lawsuit suffered tremendous physical, mental, and emotional torture directed by Fidel Castro. Also, see the article by Brian Kenety at POLITICS-BELGIUM: CUBAN EXILES FILE LAWSUIT AGAINST FIDEL … https://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P1-47346772.html in which Chris Farrell prepared a declaration on behalf of Eugenio de Sosa Chabau against Fidel Castro in 2001. Mrs. Rios purposely interviewed these two men on her show to demonstrate the falsity of the tribute being paid to Fidel Castro by our American government and Hollywood celebrities as well as the lies perpetrated by our public schools’ textbooks and the American media in general that Castro was a hero to his people and country.

Helen- perhaps it is time to find a new church. I was in a church for years that tossed around the ‘social justice’ phrase all the time. As hard as it was I left. I still have many friends in that church, but as near as I can tell it is still the same old story. People sitting in the pews may not be ‘progressives’, but their leadership are on an agenda and it is not conservative or a capitalistic view. It smells more like a Castro type view

What’s that old saying about “calling a spade a spade”? … The problem we have in this country and the world is that we don’t call the so-called “Progressives” what they really are … Communists!!! So, should we be surprised when OUR Communist President and OUR other Communist Leading Democrats praise one of their own? If Republicans should start calling them the Communists that they really are, maybe the average person will start to question them? I call them Communists ALL THE TIME, and my Democratic friends think I’m “out there”, but if more people start to “reveal” them for what they really are, people just might start wiseing up! Unfortunately, half of our current elected Republicans ARE Communists too, so the truth never gets out there in the open. Isn’t it time? Maybe it needs to start with us, the populace? … I’ll certainly do my part!

When obama ran the first time, I publicly said he was a socialist at best, communist more likely. Conservative friends just couldn’t believe it. How many times have we heard the phrase, “that could never happen here in America”? I agree with you and continue to call democrats what they are COMMUNISTS. And the media must be called what they are, PRAVDA or TASS the old soviet news agency.

What distresses me is that social justice is used to sugar coat the action of despots. In my church, which I love, social justice is preached constantly. Pope John Paul warned against it. He lived under brutal Communist rule in Poland. He experienced a government ruling under the pretext of sharing the wealth when only those in control got wealthy. Why cannot my church and progressives recognize the dangers of what is benignly called “social justice?”

It can get worse, too; everyone should read Richard Wurmbrand’s book, “Marx and Satan” which shows how the churches actually threw members under the bus for going against The State.

Helen, I too was in a parish church that had a heavy emphasis on the social justice themes. Little was ever said about Catholic teachings (dogma) or morality in comparison. Even abortion was preached against as a crime against humanity instead of a serious sin against God. The church has been infiltrated by communists and other enemies of Christ as was testified by Bela Dodd in the 50’s. Those infiltrators rose in the ranks silently for years until their time came at the Second Vatican Council. That really was a revolution in the church, a clear dividing line before and after the revolution.
Ever notice how differently the hierarchy sounds after the council from before. JPII suffered under communism and did say some against it (it is one of the leading errors of our time). But how much more clearly did Pius XII denounce it in his encyclical. (Look it up, it is worth the read). That is how a real shepherd sounds. Clear, unambiguous, dogmatic and definitive teaching.
I no longer have to endure that man-centered fake version of Catholicism. I hold fast to the faith of our fathers and practice it as it has been for 2 thousand years. Truth does not change like Christ who is the Way, the Truth , and the Life. I only go to a traditional mass in Latin. None of that nonsense gets any traction. You could easily find a 100% Catholic mass and parish, hopefully close to you. It is exraordinary to need to leave your home parish to be able to practice real Catholicism, but there is no substitute for the real thing.

A truly outstanding article that lays out the importance of knowing not only the history of our own country, but that of the world as well Diana. Excellent as always and should be one of the articles in the weekend edition, where more people would have the opportunity to read it.
When I talk not only to young people, but even to many older Americans, I am constantly struck by how little knowledge they possess of history in general or interest in the subject. Many are truly functionally illiterate when it comes to the subject. So they are of course largely oblivious to how today’s Socialists, otherwise known as Progressives in this country, are pushing the exact same so-called solutions, using the exact same verbiage, as any number of past Socialist / Communist leaders and historic figures.

You end your article questioning whether true history will survive, so people can recognize the lies of socialism for what they are and avoid repeating the same terrible mistakes others made in the past. I would have to say that based on what passes for the teaching of the subject in our public schools and colleges these days, I have severe doubts. For one, most public school teachers and college professors seem to use their classrooms as platforms for the very socialist indoctrination you warn against. Most of the text books used in the classroom already reflect the social justice slant. Secondly, any student that dares question the socialist dogma being taught runs the very real risk of either failing the class or organized public ridicule designed to eliminate any opposition speech against the Socialist views being taught.

Finally, I agree with you that this week’s lionization of Castro by so many world leaders speaks volumes as to how large the issue is of preserving the truth of history. Just a couple of generations taught the sanitized and highly politicized version of historical facts is all it takes for the truth of history to be lost and whole nations to relive the same mistakes of socialism / communism all over again.

Thank you for your comments PaulE. I agree that students are not being taught the true history of socialism. Sadly, I believe many of the new teachers are being taught socialism is the way forward…I wonder who is writing the programs teachers must graduate from to become teachers in the public school system? Could it be those with a progressive agenda? hmmm
