Five Trends That Could Help Republicans in 2022

AMAC Exclusive – By Andrew Abbott

republican republicans trends 2022As Republicans look to retake the House and Senate next year, they will undoubtedly look for any advantage they may gain over Democrats in their messaging strategies. While it may certainly be easy to focus on the many personal shortcomings of Joe Biden and Congressional Democrats, and those faults should indeed be highlighted to some extent, the GOP shouldn’t lose sight of the fact that issues matter as well.

Here, the lessons of 2016 may prove invaluable for Republicans. While the liberal media desperately tried to make the 2016 presidential race about personalities – which ultimately backfired on them – many in the political establishment still fail to understand that Donald Trump was successful in large part because of his unique ability to explain his policies clearly and plainly to the American people. Trade, China, immigration, taking care of veterans, and restoring American military strength were important themes on which he built his campaign and invoked at almost every opportunity. Instead of countering with concrete policy proposals of their own, the Clinton campaign focused on smearing the character of their opponent, and the American people handed Trump the presidency.

As the Democratic Party continues its wild leftward lurch, many of the pressing issues of today would’ve seemed far-fetched for even the Democratic Party of 2016. It thus stands to reason that more issues will come to the fore in the coming months, and even these mentioned below will continue to develop and evolve, and are only part of a larger narrative of Democratic mishaps. But here are five of the biggest issues as things stand today that Republicans should focus on heading into the midterm year that will give them an edge at the ballot box.

Crime rates

2020 saw an unprecedented rise in murder rates across the country. In response, progressives have not only permitted petty crime to proliferate but, in many cases, have actively worked to release suspects from custody. The result of these policies can already be seen as liberal city after liberal city is engulfed by violence, homelessness, and theft. As just one example, many Americans were shocked earlier this year at viral videos of thieves robbing stores in San Francisco in broad daylight as security guards stood by and watched, powerless to do anything thanks to new city ordinances. Republicans can make a strong case that if elected, they will be dedicated to enforcing the law, prosecuting criminals, and reversing the national trend of increasing crime rates.

Critical Race Theory

After President Trump brought the issue of education to the fore in a major speech at the National Archives last year, outraged parents of all political stripes have spoken up to oppose Critical Race Theory and other left-wing ideologies being peddled in school classrooms. In response, liberals have desperately attempted to pretend that Critical Race Theory either doesn’t exist, isn’t taught in schools, or isn’t dangerous.

However, despite the best attempts of the left, parents aren’t buying it, as polling shows large majorities of Americans are opposed to CRT and related philosophies being taught in school classrooms.

The potency of the issue has been on full display in the Virginia gubernatorial race where, just months after Joe Biden carried Virginia by 10 points in last year’s election, Republican Glenn Youngkin is running neck and neck with his Democratic opponent Terry McAuliffe. Youngkin has run a campaign focused heavily on education issues and pushing parents’ rights in schools. McAuliffe, on the other hand, continues to slide in the polls just days before election day thanks to his past support of CRT policies and making statements like “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.”

Even Vice President Kamala Harris has warned that a McAuliffe loss could spell disaster for Democrats next year, telling a crowd of Virginians yesterday that “what happens in Virginia will in large part determine what happens in 2022, 2024 and on.” Regardless of the outcome of that race, the campaign has shown that parents are concerned about what their kids are being taught in schools, and Democrats by and large appear to be on the wrong side of the debate.

Afghanistan

Though the mainstream media may have already pivoted to other issues, the utter collapse of Afghanistan lingers heavily in the hearts and minds of many Americans. The sheer incompetence by which the withdrawal was executed and the absolute unwillingness of defense officials to accept accountability for that failure was a gut punch to the hundreds of thousands of soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, and their families who had sacrificed so much for so little. Additionally, the persistent fear of renewed and emboldened terrorist attacks isn’t going anywhere.

Continuing COVID-19 Woes

Thanks to President Trump’s Operation Warp Speed, Joe Biden came into office with multiple vaccines and hundreds of millions of doses on the way. On day one of the Biden presidency, completely thanks to Trump’s rollout plan, the country saw more than 1.6 million people get vaccinated.

Since then, Biden’s handling of the virus has been an unmitigated disaster. Bungled messaging from the Biden administration on things like masking policies and vaccine safety has left many Americans confused and frustrated. Biden’s harsh rhetoric toward anyone who dares to disagree with the government’s COVID policies has only increased public mistrust of the government. Moreover, there have already been more COVID deaths in 2021 than in all of 2020.  It is hardly a ringing success story for a President who ran on the promise of “shutting down the virus”.

The Economy

One thing Biden has managed to shut down is the economy. After four years of unprecedented economic prosperity under President Trump, it’s now becoming more expensive for every American to purchase items as essential as a loaf of bread or a tank of gas. Prices for things like used cars and furniture are up by as much as 20% – and that’s assuming people can even get a new couch thanks to supply chain problems.

Yet even as inflation continues to rise and the economy struggles to recover from the pandemic-induced recession, Democrats are determined to exponentially increase spending through multi-trillion dollar spending packages.

Ultimately, the GOP will look to send the message that, if the radical leftists who run today’s Democratic Party have their way, whether its crime or lockdowns or school curriculum, the American people will have no say over the direction of their lives. With a victory next November, Republicans would send a message to the Democratic Party that the type of extremist policies they’ve forwarded in recent years have no place in America.

Knowing that they’re losing the battle when it comes these issues and many more, Democrats have predictably tried to shift the narrative, hyper-focusing on the 2020 and election and January 6 to paint Republicans as enemies of the Republic. They’ve also tried to control the media narrative through their massive spending packages, hoping that government handouts to various groups will distract from the obvious economic hardships many Americans are facing. Ultimately, however, history suggests that voters will likely side with the party that ensures security for their families and prosperity for their communities. Republicans would accordingly be wise to stay focused on the issues that voters will have on their minds when they head to the polls next November.

Hillsdale has the best analysis of January 6. Senators and Representatives who do focus on retelling, investigating, and hyper-branding January 6 protestors are showing us who they are.
Don’t vote for any of them. They are not doing the work.
Now I don’t know if enough voters will turn out to vote for people who will work for the benefit of people–not just themselves. But each of us is custodian of one vote. We have an obligation to use it for good. Donald Trump was elected without the permission of the people who think they own the “Federal” government. He was the first ray of light. His re-election is what I hope for.

Decrying the woes of this administration may point out the shortcomings, but please remember that “God is in Control” and we need to increase our prayers asking him to bring us back to the “City on the hill” that we were created to be. As a Nation, we have turned so far away from that roll that only God can redeem us and Only prayer can save us now. (not being defeatist, just realistic)

Well, you did not mention the border or our open borders policy.
More important than your story is that our Republic is crumbling from within thanks to the fools we the people elected. They are slowly neutering our Constitution and all we stand/stood for as a nation and a people. The bafoon at 1600 is owned by our enemy, China but most folks don’t give a damn. We lose SCOTUS and our Constitution, we are done,,,and that time is fast approaching.

The biggest help for the Republicans is the Democrats themselves, when you have an Idiot driving the Bus, it’s bound to go in the ditch, and it couldn’t happen to a more worthless bunch of un-America slime-balls, every American needs to fight back before they destroy our great Country.
GOD SAVE AMERICA!

I received a message as many people did, from President Trump. In it he states he did not tell people to not vote if 2020 Is not decertified. He states we must vote to be able to compare the fraud the Democrats are trying to commit. So, please vote. It matters.

The only help the GOP as a group should need is honest elections, and the Democrats are doing everything they can to insure those elections are not honest. There was great suspicion in the California recall, there are already suspicions re. the early mail-in vote in the Virginia governor’s race. The Arizona audit for 2016 showed tens of thousands of very questionable ballots whether the outcome would have changed or not. No mail-in or harvested ballots can possibly be secure from potential fraud, and the Democrats depend on it.

I completely agree with the 5 issues listed (as well as their energy and border policies) being reasons to not vote for demoncrats/communists. I believe, however, it’s much simpler than that. It’s come down to liberty vs tyranny and even more simply; good vs evil. As simple as that should be, it isn’t. Too many people in this country still get their news from, and actually believe, the msm/leftist propagandists. Fortunately that’s changing. The question is…is it changing fast enough? With the exception of hardcore socialist/communist lefties (none of which have a clue), most people that know the truth wouldn’t consider voting for tyranny and evil. That, however, requires knowing what the truth is. JMO.

It’s important to make the Conservative case on the key issues… But none of this will matter if the Republicans don’t formulate effective, hands-on tactics to ensure the integrity of the process and to preclude voter fraud while it’s happening (especially in swing states ….. they should’ve learned by now that pleading their case in court after the fact is futile ….. I think they underestimate what the Democrats are willing to do to feed their lust for power…

it would help if policies were coordinated and not condemn somebody because they disagree with one item on your list. Find the common ground and promote. If you don’t get into office being of a certain belief means SQUAT.
Except for the Pennsylvania “patronage chief” the parties used to have for both parties and those asinine “platform committees” before a candidate is chosen, this platform come hell or high water even if the candidate doesn’t actually agree with all of it.
AND CEASE MAKING SO MUCH HINGE ON ABORTION!!!!! I’m not going to tell you what I think about it but the fate of the economy or peace in the world doesn’t hinge on it.
Check the definition of “positivist” and you might understand why promoting abortion is a part of the Democratic party’s campaign. Don’t just call them Satan show people WHY they are.

I hope the Republicans understand that the only way the DemocRats can win the next POTUS election and sandwiched Congressional seat elections is insure that the Voting is not rigged … and I’m not sure there has been much action on this matter. And of course the News Media, with few exceptions, will run propaganda cover to try to help the DemocRats out.

We need to terminate the term of Badin and Kakelma, All of the Cabinet and All of the Democrats that are opposed to Democracy (does anyone else get the misnomer of this name?). This amount of civil disruption needed to save the truth of this country is far far far more than an election. The Civil War of 1861-1865 was due to the federal government imposing power over the states…does this sound familiar to current civil unrest? That disruption that was occurring with the federal government in 1861 was a “drop in the bucket” compared to what is being done now. Every single day, sometimes multiple times a day, the rights of The People are violated by a government that was never elected by The People. Although I am not physically able to defend my country, I do keep wondering how far the People will continue to bend over? Badin the dictator has now made a decree that we The People have to Pay illegal aliens for illegally crossing our borders. We have to Pay them! That means bye bye Medicare, bye bye disability (unless of course you have never paid anything into it, because then you can steal it all). This is only a tiny portion of the manner in which The People are being abused and violated. The misnomer of the “democrats” and all associated with them must be Removed. This is Civil War.

The ( 5 ) trends listed in this well written article are absolutely paramount if the Republican Party wants to exist… Everything listed in the article are hard truths moving forward & it is up to each & every American citizen to VOTE the right people into office. It is a hard pill to swallow with respect to our votes being switched or thrown out if Trump’s name was on the ballot…Yes, we have a illegitimate potus in office that has brought all of us a draconian way of life we never would have imagined possible to ever happen, happen it did…
Unless JRB gets removed from office, we are stuck with what we got for the time being as time will tell if he can hold it all together much longer as currently his favorability polls are being way to generous on his popularity… Both parties of voters now believe this man is NOT up to the task, Joe’s days are numbered…What we do as a nation, the moment this man is removed from office will be of paramount importance & with that I will end this by saying, it will need to happen before anyone else gets sworn in…
In conclusion: The best is yet to come & lets make America great again, again.
God bless America,
Bill on the Hill… :~)

Question: where have the majority of republicans been since 2012??? For months, a proven non-resident traveled all over our nation opining “I’m going to fundamentally change America” where were the Repubs?
What did these republicans think he was talking about?? Lowering taxes? Improving healthcare? Not to mention during his reign of terror, more cops were assassinated than in literally any other presidency?
Improving our strength against enemy nations? Improving our economy? Demoralizing our military?…sound familiar?
With precious few exceptions the “republican” party has become a lynch party. Fat cats making obscene salaries, guaranteed for life, life long insurance, security all AFTER retiring, back room deals with demorats, life long perks we the people can’t even fathom, and THEY voted themselves pay raises to boot!!! Wow! Wouldn’t that be a hoot for actual working Americans!
I was no fan of George Wallace, but he made a statement that is even truer today “There’s not a dime’s worth of difference between Republicans and demorats”…but what makes Republicans worse is that Republicanism at it’s heart means “less government”….what they’ve become are traitors to everything Republicanism stands for ….

This country desperately needs term limits, or at least, a quick ability to remove politicians who violate their oaths of office. Until that happens, we are stuck with lazy, idiotic voters and a corrupt political system that continues to return the same old hacks decade after decade. Hacks who have zero desire to support the people who pay their stolen salaries.
It is time for a change. Dems and RINOs must be fired.
