Wisconsin Vandals Tear Down Statue of Civil War Hero Who Fought to End Slavery, Assault Senator

WisconsinProtesters toppled two statues and physically attacked a state senator outside the Wisconsin Capitol building Tuesday night, the state’s governor said.

Demonstrators began assembling throughout the day near the Capitol in Madison, Wisconsin. However, they became agitated following the arrest of a black man who brought a baseball bat and megaphone into a nearby restaurant, according to The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

“What happened in Madison last night presented a stark contrast from the peaceful protests we have seen across our state in recent weeks, including significant damage to state property,” Gov. Tony Evers, a Democrat, tweeted Wednesday morning.

“We are prepared to activate the Wisconsin National Guard to protect state buildings and infrastructure,” Evers added.

Protesters tore down the “Forward” and Col. Hans Christian Heg statues. The “Forward” statue, which has stood outside the Capitol since 1895, was designed to be an allegory of “devotion and progress,” according to the Wisconsin Historical Society.

Heg was a Norwegian immigrant who fought for the North in the Civil War, according to the Wisconsin Historical Society. He commanded an entire brigade, which forced Confederate troops to retreat through Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia. Heg was shot in a battle in Georgia in September 1863 and died the next morning.

State Sen. Tim Carpenter, a Democrat, was assaulted late at night as protests turned violent. Carpenter was punched and kicked in the head, he tweeted Wednesday morning.

Watch:

“Any single act of injustice against one person is less justice for all of us, and the people who committed these acts of violence will be held accountable,” Evers tweeted. “My thoughts are with @TimCarpenterMKE who was among the individuals attacked last night and wish him a quick recovery.”

Statues and monuments have been under attack across the country in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd. Floyd died May 25 after a Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck for about nine minutes, video of the arrest showed.

“It’s a healthy expression of people saying let’s get some priorities here and let’s remember the sin and mistake that this nation made and let’s not celebrate it,” New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat, said Tuesday.

Cuomo reiterated his support for the removal of the Theodore Roosevelt statue outside the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.

Rioters attempted to tear down a monument to former President Andrew Jackson near the White House on Monday night.

Protesters toppled a Christopher Columbus statue in Richmond, Virginia, and beheaded a Columbus statue in Boston on June 9. The Columbus statue outside Minnesota’s Capitol was torn down June 10.

The statue of Confederate President Jefferson Davis in Richmond, a George Washington statue in Chicago, and a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee in Montgomery, Alabama, have also been attacked in the weeks following Floyd’s death.

Hopefully many more Demoncrats will be attacked especially those in high positions. They are all for the Socialist/Communist violence as long as they are hiding behind their walls. Maybe their tune will change if they feel the sting.

Go after the LEADERS and (especially) the “FINANCIERS” of this “organized insurrection” and charge them with “treason”!!! Stop electing “politicians/leaders” who don’t lead & don’t uphold the Constitution or rule of law!!! Governor Evers is either “a coward”, incompetent (not ready to lead – not ready to be Governor) or (as a Marxist/Leninist would call him) “a useful idiot”! The voters of Wisconsin should take a “hard look” at their Governor, after all they elected him!!!!

It’s about time some of these vandals get killed expecially the ones who attack a state senator. If there is any good in this it’s that it was a Dem who got attacked. Maybe if they see that they are not immune to the violence they will stop supporting and encouraging the destroyers.

It’s not about statues. They honestly don’t know or care who these statues represent. It’s about the socialists and communists wanting to destroy our culture and re-make it in their view of a socialist / communist Utopia. Same process was used in Russia during the Russian revolution and in China under Mao’s Cultural Revolution. Destroy everything that existed before them, so the only frame of reference is the here and now they create. By the way for those of you that don’t keep track of global news, both BLM and ANTIFA are doing the exact same thing in places like London, Paris, Berlin, Lucerne to mention just a few. This isn’t about racism contrary to what the idiots on TV keep telling you. This is about destroying anything and everything on a global basis that represents anything other Marxist ideology. Learn your history people, because NOTHING the left is doing today is either new or unique.

The only thing truly unique is how many of the governments around the world are simply laying down and letting this all happen with little to no pushback. All that remains to be seen is if the populations of all these countries continue to just sit back and let this all continue or whether there is any backbone left to send these Marxists scurrying back under their rocks they crawled out from. Right now I rank it as a toss up.
