The 2024 presidential contest is over 500 days away, and the early round of polling is already showing that it will be another close election. So far, President Joe Biden has not yet announced his re-election. After Democrats’ better-than-expected showing in the 2022 midterms, chatter about a Kamala Harris run or a Gavin Newsom campaign has evaporated, and Joe Biden is all but guaranteed to lead Democrats next fall. But there are several concerns Democrat strategists and voters have about Joe Biden and the growing elements of the radical “defund the police” Democrat mob. Further suppressing Democrat morale is the growing bench of young, intelligent, articulate Republican leaders from across the country who are ready to take America to new heights. So why are Democrats already panicking about 2024 and why?
First, it’s no secret that the Joe Biden who left the White House in 2016 is not the Joe Biden of today. In 2024 President Biden will be the oldest nominee in history and should he win, Biden will break the record he himself set in 2020 when he became the oldest person ever elected President of the United States. President Biden’s challenge in campaigning will further impair his ability to carry out the roles and responsibilities of Commander in Chief.
Recent polling, although early, indicates that the 2024 election may be another close, within the margin of error, election. That is especially true if the nominees are once again President Biden and former President Donald Trump. A Washington Post/NBC News national poll from late January found registered voters favoring Trump over Biden, 48%-45%in a head-to-head matchup. In February, a Quinnipiac University poll showed Biden up 48%-46% over Trump among nationally registered voters. A poll from Harvard/Harris this month shows Trump over Biden 45%-41%, respectively. The Harvard poll also revealed several warning signs for Democrats: 58% of respondents say the country is on the “wrong track”, 58% say the economy is “weak”, 49% say their financial situation is “getting worse” while only 43% “approve” of President Biden’s job performance. More bad news for Biden – the Quinnipiac poll also showed Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) slightly ahead of President Biden in a hypothetical matchup 47%-46%.
Democrats are also starting to panic even more now because there is little else, if anything, that Congressional Democrats will be able to accomplish in the next two years in order to boost their party’s prospects in 2024. With a divided Congress essentially stalling major legislation, President Biden and his awful economic policies have inflation still above 7%, gas, food and housing costs at or near the record highs of a few months ago, and now instability in the American banking sector. In addition, two of President Biden’s nominees to lead major federal agencies have withdrawn in the last month, forcing the White House into retreat even with a majority in the Senate.
Despite underperforming in the 2022 midterm elections, Republicans did win the U.S. House of Representatives. House Republicans have already begun moving the spotlight over the corruption charges plaguing the Biden family and the risks to national security, reckless COVID-19 spending by Washington Democrats, the Biden border crisis, and unfair student loan forgiveness. Increased public scrutiny of Democrat corruption and failed monetary policies, all by a party led by the oldest President elected in U.S. history have Democrats already panicking about 2024.

Unless a Republican candidate can articulate a simple compromise to the abortion issue, the rest of the platform may be in jeopardy from young humanists (we older persons are responsible for their education) who are willing to ignore “the science.” Having protested against Roe vs Wade 40 years ago and never wavering from what science clearly shows re: when life begin; a candidate must be be able to say something simple and comprehensible. How about, “while believing life begins at conception the platform can offer over the counter “morning after” pills (without a prescription) at cost for any woman and terminations at less than 6 weeks when the life of the mother is at risk.” We were unwilling to make any concessions 40 years ago and have lost 2 generations of children. In many other situations the President, US government, and the people have support SOBs doing awful things, like killing people, when “they were our SOBs.” It is the lesser of two evils argument. Surely people smarter than me can get in a room and stay there till they have this ironed out.

You write these articles assuming elections, most especially presidential, are fair and secure elections. Untill laws are passed that prevent elections from being stolen, no one can predict or show what polls predict the outcome to be. There are some republican lead states that have made steps in the right direction for this to become reality but it needs to be a national across the board set of laws that make it virtually impossible to cheat on an election. I for one don’t see that happening due to so much corruption in our federal government.
