AMAC Action In The Media / Press Releases

The Constitution Is Under Attack

‘Our rights as Americans are slowly but surely taken away from us by socialist ideologues’ –

BOHEMIA, NY, Mar 30 – “The Supreme Court arguments over the constitutionality of Obamacare have shed light on what is perhaps the most dangerous threat to our American way of life—a new generation of leadership intent on circumventing the Constitution,” according to Dan Weber, president of the Association of Mature American Citizens.

Weber focused on two “insidious” provisions of the law: its unprecedented mandate that all Americans buy health care coverage or suffer a penalty and its directive that forces religious institutions to, in effect, pay for sterilization, birth control and even abortion.

“The latter is a direct assault on the fundamental Constitutional right that Americans have to worship as they please; the former puts the country on the path to the creation of a dictatorship.  AMAC, for one, will not stand idly by as our rights as Americans are slowly but surely taken away from us by socialist ideologues who think they know better than our founding fathers.”

The association has launched a nationwide campaign to raise awareness of what it calls “a clear and present” threat to our rights and our freedoms as guaranteed by the Constitution.  “We are challenging our elected officials on both sides of the aisle to stand together in defense of those guarantees and exhorting the American people to rise up in protest,” said Weber.

He pointed out that AMAC has identified lawmakers who feel strongly about this issue and who can be counted on to aid its efforts.  For example, Congresswoman Michelle Bachman has already publicly stated her position, he said.

Representative Bachman recently said to reporters: “The issue with Obamacare isn’t what we’re going to get, the bigger issue with Obamacare is what will be taken away, because we have now one person who’s a health dictator in our country and that health care dictator will decide what we get and what we don’t get.”

Weber urged those who want to “stand up and be counted” to visit the AMAC Web site at and join the fight.

NOTE TO EDITORS: Dan Weber is available for telephone interviews on this issue and other topics important to older Americans.  Please contact John Grimaldi at [email protected] to set up a chat.

The Association of Mature American Citizens [] is a vibrant, vital and conservative alternative to those traditional organizations, such as AARP, that dominate the choices for mature Americans who want a say in the future of the nation.  Where those other organizations may boast of their power to set the agendas for their memberships, AMAC takes its marching orders from its members.  We act and speak on their behalf, protecting their interests, and offering a conservative insight on how to best solve the problems they face today.

I did not vote for Obammie(Obama).I saw right through him the first time I heard him speak. Our one big issue is the media. They act like they adore him. If the truth were to be told, they are probably terrified of him. I’m not. His blood isn’t any redder than mine. He wants to be a dictator and many people (young) don’t take the time to listen to him speak nor are they interested in doing their duty as legal citizens and vote. I know many people that don’t vote, but when things go wrong they are the first ones to complain. I believe that God directed our forefathers to this country and God has blessed it but it’s like the Old Testament, the people are either destroying it or allowing it to be destroyed. Too many people sit back and say “It will all work itself out”. It wont if we the people don’t stand United.
I am an old lady and I remember the outhouses, ice boxes and after the depression when we barely had enough food
before televisions, computers and all those fangdangle new toys. I don’t worry about myself.I worry about my close relatives and the hardship they will suffer under the Obama administration. We the people need to let our voices be heard.

I have so been looking for those who think like me and love and have served Our Country. I have found you. We need to take action and wake America up. I can tell you all that our “representatives” on high may not represent us very well but they do pay attention when the phones ring off the hook and the e-mail pours in. And leave us not forget good ol’ snail mail. That will make a fine mess in their office. We must do this now and constantly and talk to all those we know about this crisis. And let us not forget you tube.Let’s make some speeches on there. And we have to keep it up. We must first DEMAND that congress do something about this domestic enemy in the White House and all those in Justice and Congress.

We must also not wait to long if that doesn’t work, to engage in some civil disobedience. And don’t forget to stock-up!

I’m starting tomorrow. Hope you all will too!

Gray-Haired Brigade – Author Unknown

They like to refer to us as senior citizens, old fogies, geezers and in some cases, dinosaurs. Some of us are “Baby Boomers,” getting ready to retire. Others have been retired for some time. We walk a little slower these days and our eyes and hearing are not what they once were.

We have worked hard, raised our children, worshipped our God and grown old together. Yes, we are the ones some refer to as being over the hill and that is probably true. But before writing us off completely, there are a few things that need to be taken into consideration.

In school we studied English, history, math and science which enabled us to lead America into the technological age. Most of us remember what outhouses were, many of us with firsthand experience. We remember the days of telephone party-lines, 25 cent gasoline and milk and ice being delivered to our homes. For those of you who don’t know what an icebox is, today they are electric and referred to as refrigerators. A few even remember when cars were started with a crank. Yes, we lived those days.

We are probably considered old fashioned and out-dated by many. But there are a few things you need to remember before completely writing us off. We won World War II, fought in Korea and Viet Nam. We can quote ‘The Pledge of Allegiance’ and know where to place our hand while doing so. We wore the uniform of our country with pride and lost many friends on the battlefield. We didn’t fight for the Socialist States of America, we fought for the “Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.” We wore different uniforms, but carried the same flag. We know the words to ‘The Star Spangled Banner,’ ‘America’ and ‘America, the Beautiful’ by heart and you may even see some tears running down our cheeks as we sing. We have lived what many of you have only read about in history books and we feel no obligation to apologize to anyone for America.

Yes, we are old and slow these days, but rest assured, we have at least one good fight left in us. We have loved this country, fought for it and died for it and now we are going to save it. It is our country and nobody is going to take it away from us. We took oaths to defend America against all enemies, foreign and domestic and that is an oath we plan to keep. There are those who want to destroy this land we love, but like our founders, there is no way we are going to remain silent.

It was the young, ill-bred people of this nation who elected Obama and the Democratic Congress. What a heart-breaking disappointment!

You fell for the “Hope and Change,” which in reality was nothing but “Hype and Lies.” You have tasted socialism and seen evil face to face and have found you don’t like it after all. You make a lot of noise, but most are all too interested in their careers or “Climbing the Social Ladder” to be involved in such mundane things as patriotism and voting. Many of those who fell for the “Great Lie” in 2008 are now having buyer’s remorse. With all the education we gave you, you didn’t have sense enough to see through the lies and instead drank the ‘Kool-Aid.’ Now you’re paying the price and complaining about it. No jobs, lost mortgages, higher taxes, higher food and gas prices and less freedom. This is what you voted for and this is what you got. We entrusted you with the ‘Torch of Liberty’ and you traded it for a paycheck and a fancy house.

Well, don’t worry youngsters, the Grey Haired Brigade is here and in 2012, we are going to take back our nation. We may drive a little slower than you would like, but we get where we’re going and in 2012 we’re going to the polls by the millions. This land does not belong to the man in the White House, nor to the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. It belongs to “We the People” and “We the People” plan to reclaim our land and our freedom. We hope this time you will do a better job of preserving it and passing it along to our grandchildren. So the next time you have the chance to say ‘The Pledge of Allegiance,’ Stand Up, put your hand over your heart, honor our country and thank God for the old geezers of the “Gray-Haired Brigade!”

Power to “WE the people!!”

Thanks much, Joe, but I can only take credit for posting the article, have no idea who the author is, so can’t take credit for writing!! I wanted ‘Author unknown’ inserted before my name, but I guess it was overlooked!!
Anyway, I thought it was good enough to share and that’s what I did, with help from Pam Smith, it wouldn’t post when I tried it myself, so she got it posted!!
Sure do hope more folks took time to read it, but thanks for your favorable comment!!

Not “everyone” in congress. We worked hard to get some Tea Party conservatives elected to congress. But, otherwise, I agree that we need to WORK to get rid of the Democrats and RINO Republicans in the house and the senate.

Because most running are cut from the smae mold, if someone stands up against what BOTH parties are doing they are labled a KOOK. Just ask Ron Paul.

AARP sold the retired people of this country down the river. They have never represented me and never will.

As far as AARP when ever I receive anything from them I send it back telling them they are a Communist organization not representing the senior citizens of this Country

I’m all for Obamacare being thrown out, you all know why. The only problem is will the SC follow suit? What I’d like to know is why it takes three month to make a decision, either you are for it or against it. I’m sure they have already discused it as they knew there would all kinds of objections to it

The reference to Hitler was a good one. Hitler was an elected official according to German policy at that time. After Hindenburg’s death, Hitler was able to declare a National Emergency and suspend upcoming elections. Obama seems to be more than willing to acquire power and do the same.

Rich E

yes…….and Obama already made shadowy statements as to doing the same. His idea also to establish a “national security force” funded better than the military is clue to this tyrants ideas.

I agree … and those of us who appear on various lists and sites who solicit our comments will get a visit from the “brown shirts” employed by the government. They will confiscate our computers and weapons and we will be held as subversive elements. Former military veterans; watch your backs!

We need to get Federal goverment out of the states business, need each of us to take responsabilty for ourselves. I paid for SS and Medicare for 45 years if the goverment hadn’t misused it. Don’t always blame someone else to get what you want!
He is in that positiom illegaly!
This country was founded so people could have a God fearing Nation,How dare him tihink we should change. If he wants to be a dictator go where they like dictators. We better wake up before November,But I some times I wonder if elections are rigged.
Obama care should be thrown out.
These voters better go back and read about the reign of Hitler. Obama said change he just didn’t say what .
I always have had insurance it is just nice to have insurance that cares about all of us.

Let’s not overlook some other aspects of this government power grab such as “enable electronic funds transfers, in order to allow automated reconciliation with the related health care payment and remittance advice;. How long before this is applied to other financial aspects of our lives?. Automatic transfers of percieved (by the IRS) of tax obligations?

WHY didn’t the SC first settle the lack of citizenship and ineligibility of obozo?? Everything else would be moot

(Why didn’t the STATES first settle the lack of citizenship and ineligibility of obozo?? Everything else would be moot.)

`If the certification had been done instead of taking the false word of Pelosi, et al, then this pretender would not have been on the ballot in any of the states. Why are there ONLY 6 states NOW questioning the eligibility of this person? Impeachment implies that he legally holds office. If he were to be found illegally holding office, he and ALL his enablers should be arrested and tried for TREASON.

You’re absolutely right, but the states don’t have the power to remove obozo from office, it still has to be done thru the SC and it will be, but it’ll be too late!!

I totally agree. There are many executive orders by both Bush and Obama that provide enough evidence for sedition and treason. We must stop this now! This is the place to take a stand for freedom.

As long as we resign ourselves to the concept that the justices have the final word and we have no choice but to live under their rules we get what we deserve. If the kings and queens of the court decide that government may now control everything we think, do, and say then our next step is clear.Civil and loud defiance of anything and everything coming out of washington.Begin work on a amendment to remove the lifelong appointment of “justices”. Give the people redress for rulings that defy logic and that defy the basic principles of a free society. This fight cannot end just because the court gives our liberties to washington…It ends when the people are heard and our public servants comply with our demands…John Oliff

I have waited so long to find an alternative to AARP and when I heard Mark Levine talk about you on his radio show, I wrote down what he was saying for contact and when I got home I immediately joined for 5 years. I sent it out to others and I know of one person who also joined. I want to buy a membership for my 87 year old mother but it confused her, so hopefully if I get to visit her this year I can explain it to her and know that I will be able to sign her up also. Thank you, THANK YOU, for being there and let’s take this fight on.

I found Justice Kagan’s comments to be interesting. She believes that “Obamacare” represents a “pot-full-of-money” that the states should be excited about receiving. Her statement reveals a shallow thinking process that fails to understand from where that “pot-of-money” comes. The tax payer is already over-burdened and is not an infinite resource for funding these poorly thought out programs.

She believe that the “pot-of-money” will “help the poor.” I believe that all of these Federal poor relief programs do not help anyone. These progams make it easy to remain poor; and remove the incentive for individuals to improve their physical and spiritual condition. These are sad results and lead to horrible consequences.

Thank you for being there for those of us Conservatives who are tired of AARP.
They were one of the biggest supporters of Obamacare. They were suppose to represent their members but they sold them out.

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
