Senator Cruz Inaugural Report on Obama Administration’s Unprecedented Attempts to Expand Federal Power

WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) today released a report – “The Legal Limit: The Obama Administration’s Attempts to Expand Federal Power” – that analyzes six instances in the last 15 months where the U.S. Supreme Court has unanimously rejected the Obama Administration’s arguments for increased federal power.

“When President Obama’s own Supreme Court nominees join their colleagues in unanimously rejecting his Administration’s call for broader federal power six times in just over one year, the inescapable conclusion is that the Obama Administration’s view of federal power knows virtually no bounds,” said Sen. Cruz. “This is a deeply troubling pattern that we will continue to highlight as long as this Administration continues seeking ways to expand its power in direct violation of Americans’ constitutional rights.”

Sen. Cruz’s report highlights the six cases that the Supreme Court has unanimously rejected since January 2012. Had President Obama’s Department of Justice been successful in its cases, the federal government would have the power to:

  • Attach GPSs to a citizen’s vehicle to monitor his movements, without having any cause to believe that a person has committed a crime (United States v. Jones);
  • Deprive landowners of the right to challenge potential government fines as high as $75,000 per day and take away their ability have a hearing to challenge those fines (Sackett v. EPA);
  • Interfere with a church’s selection of its own ministers. (Hosanna-Tabor Evangelical Lutheran Church & School v. EEOC);
  • Override state law whenever the President desires. (Arizona v. United States);
  • Dramatically extend statutes of limitations to impose penalties for acts committed decades ago. (Gabelli v. SEC); and
  • Destroy private property without paying just compensation. (Arkansas Fish & Game Commission v. United States).

The arguments advanced in these cases demonstrate an astonishing view of federal power on behalf of the Obama Administration that is worthy of further examination. To view the full report, please visit:

Thank you for exposing this administration, Senator Cruz. Now you need to get your colleagues to do something about it.

Wait just one minute, the expanded statue of limitations could have been a smart move to let it in… I mean he has openly admitted being a member of the Choom Gang, smoking pot, driving while under the influence, road racing, and more. Perhaps he would have gotten stuck in his own spider web of deception??

The Senator does a good job of outlining the over-reach of the executive branch as the country continues to get pushed towards socialism. We need many more respresentatives just like him in Washington, if there is going to be any chance to save what is left of America.

I feel the same Senator Cruz, what is ahead for our children and grandchildren. I see a lot of persecution ahead if something isn’t done and it scares me!

The Senator is doing an excellent job highlighting the massive disregard this administration has for the rule of law and the Constitution and Bill of Rights in general. For whatever reason, the majority in the country refuses to acknowledge the dangerous path we’re on. Either that or the indoctrination process, via our public school system, has been even more succussful than expected and the majority of people now actually believe these types of expansion in government powers are good for the country. If the situation is the latter, then we’re all in for a very rough ride going forward.

Much if not all of this is related to the U.N. Agenda 21 which is against the U.S. Constitution. This must be halted if we expect to retain private property, ect. Executive order 12858 -put into effect by Pres. Clinton in the early 90’s- needs to be challenged constitutionally by someone in standing before the U.S. Supreme Court as it continues to spread to all levels in society down to local levels year after year with these above results and many people do not understand what’s really happening. Please inform yourself by reading about what Agenda 21 is and also who wrote it.

Bush and Obama have had little regards for the Constitution, neither like it because it limited their powers. Both have overstepped their bounds with their executive orders, it’s was never meant to legislate and change the law of the land, but to help operate with in the administrative branch of govt……Also the Supreme Court is not their to write or rewrite legislation that is before them for constitutionality, Obama care would have never made it through house as a TAX.

What we as citizens need to do is to vote the dark demons out. Be they Democrats or Republicans. We need our country back.

Sen Cruz, this is scary, I don’t care so much for myself but I’m 63 and have great grandkids who will have to grow up in this mess.

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
