On July 9, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI), endorsed the “four guiding principles” Terry mentioned in his letter to the editor.
“First, no 20 percent cut. Full stop. Not gonna happen. Second, make sure all benefits are paid on time. Third, make the program work better. And fourth, help people who can and want to work get back to work. … A disability should in no way diminish a person’s right to fully participate in all aspects of society” …. Paul Ryan July 9, 2015
The committee’s ranking member Rep. Sander Levin said “Social Security disability insurance plays a vital role in the lives of millions. I hope we can work together to make sure it continues to be there for all Americans.”
It’s very encouraging that a bipartisan agreement to reinforce the SSDI program, which would in turn strengthen the entire Social Security program is possible this year.
Hey BozO, somebody needs to tell your hero, Obama, because he plans on “stealing” even more monie$ from Social Security as he continues to destabilize it in his plan to destroy, err “transform” America to Communism!
