Sanctuary Cities Do Not Have a Mandate To Protect Criminal Illegals, says AMAC

WASHINGTON, DC  – “The last time I looked, aiding and abetting a criminal in the commission of a crime is, itself, a crime and the perpetrator is usually charged, arrested and held.  So, why are Mayors DeBlasio of New York City, Eric Garcetti of Los Angeles and their colleagues in so-called sanctuary cities across the nation not behind bars?  They should be arrested for being accessories in the crimes committed by illegal immigrants under their protection?”  That is the question on Dan Weber’s mind.

Weber is president of the Association of Mature American Citizens, the largest conservative watchdog organization for seniors.  He says the protection of illegal immigrants who have committed crimes is “indeed a crime and a preposterous stretch, even for leftist ideologues such as DeBlasio and Garcetti.  A Harvard–Harris poll conducted just last month showed that 80% of the country oppose sanctuary cities.  Obviously, there is bi-partisan support for President Trump’s efforts to protect American citizens from illegal immigrants who could do them harm.  Why?  Because the mayhem these criminals cause has become an almost daily occurrence.  Some pretty dastardly crimes have been committed by miscreant illegals that sanctuary cities and sanctuary states protect.”

Weber was referring to the arrest of an illegal charged with sexually attacking his girlfriend’s two-year-old daughter.  He also stabbed a woman outside of a local bar and then stabbed his girlfriend when she confronted him about the sexual abuse of her daughter.

“The man in this case, Tommy Alvarado-Ventura, is from El Salvador and has been deported four times for entering the country illegally.  He keeps coming back like a bad penny.  The incident occurred just two weeks ago in Nassau County in New York, State which established itself as a sanctuary state.  The Police Commissioner of Nassau County, Thomas Krumpter, told reporters that it was ‘probably the most heinous criminal act I’ve ever seen.’  But, it is probably even more of a criminal act on the part of some elected officials that they are willing to sacrifice the safety of law abiding residents in order to provide a safe haven for villains like Tommy Alvarado-Ventura.”

That vicious attack was no isolated incident, Weber notes.  He points to the pending case in Rockville, MD where two illegals from Guatemala who are 17 and 18 years old are set to stand trial charged with raping a 14 year old girl in a high school bathroom.  That arrest came as the city of Rockville was about to vote on whether to become a sanctuary city.  And, he says, Google the topic and you’ll find numerous such crimes that have been committed in every corner of the country.

“It is interesting to note that against this backdrop the Department of Homeland Security says that in a period of one week recently there were more than 200 instances of local authorities refusing requests to detain illegal immigrant criminals.  The madness must end lest the United States gains a reputation for being a safe haven for all manner of criminals.  If illegals from south of the border can set up their criminal enterprises in America so readily, what is stopping illegal ISIS terrorists from entering the country to wreak havoc?  The poem at the base of the Statue of Liberty reads ‘Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.’  The invitation does not include malicious rapists and murderers.  Whether you voted for Mr. Trump or not it is shear insanity to oppose him on the issue of whether cities and states should cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement authorities,” says Weber.

He adds that illegals also have a significant negative impact on our economy and cites a report issued by the Federation for American Immigration Reform claiming that undocumented aliens cost U.S. taxpayers some $100 billion a year.  Weber points out that senior citizens bear the brunt of that cost.  “Every dollar a sanctuary city or state spends on protecting illegals is a dollar that is not available to support services for the elderly.”

Undocumented aliens, better known as “illegal immigrants” STOLE ACROSS our border as they escaped prosecution in another country. Whether they came across with a wife and family or whether they came alone, they are ALL CRIMINALS UNDER EXISTING LAW!!! To have local city or state governments provide sanctuary should also be criminal. Trump should not only cut off all federal funding to such cities/states but ANY GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL NOT WILLING TO OBEY EXISTING LAW SHOULD BE PROSECUTED IN THE FULLEST, NO EXCEPTIONS!!! … Examples are needed and necessary! … And throw away the key too!

Harvey B. Rich

Yes, I agree, perhaps AMAC was trying to emphasize Sanctuary Cities since Attorney General Sessions has decided to take on the issue.
More people need to know about this travesty of justice.

The socialist hellhole of Chicagahole is a sanctuary city. If we didn’t have a Republican governor probably our whole state would be. With this state controlled by dimocrats I’m surprised we’re not now. A few years ago they let the illegals have Illinois drivers license. How stupid is that.

Someone who sneaks across the border is a trespasser not a immigrant. You are entering one’s land uninvited. They are no different than a burglar who breaks into your home when you are not around.

What other laws are not necessary for any of us to abide by? Do speed limits apply? Arson (I-85)? Not paying the IRS? We are on our way to anarchy.

Title 8 of the U.S. Code, Section 1324(a), states that it is “a felony to encourage or induce an alien to come to or reside in the U.S. knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that the alien’s entry or residence is or will be in violation of the law.” Possible penalties include a fine and up to 5 years in prison.

I say Amen to everything in this article. We have to stop funding the sanctuary cities now!

I would think we’ve become like the 1920’s. I can rob an armored car, murder the guards if needed and go live happily ever after in a Sanctuary City.
Disgusting, deplorable, and illegal. We’re no longer Obamas Wild West show. At least in theory.

The only reason “the immigration system is broken” the phrase often parroted by pandering politicians, is because existing laws passed by Congress have been ignored. Dry up the social services teat. Fine people who employ illegal aliens. Enforce laws and secure borders.

I agree 100%. Has our country gone that far left that any “sane” person would think this crime is acceptable. Would these mayors feel the same way if it was their daughter or family member? Absolutely cut off Federal funding and then prosecute these mayors that refuse to obey the law. I am a U.S. citizen, but if I break the law they would not hesitate to put me in jail. I want NONE of my tax dollars going to these cities. This kind of criminal behavior has to stop. Take back America now!!!

If they want to live with the illegals, deport them along with the illegals, after serving their jail time.

I completely agree these Governors, Mayors and other elected officials should be prosecuted for malfeasance, and misfeasance of office, but look even further to our own County and City Governments. Every State has Health and Human Services offices which cater to illegals ( although they won’t admit it) showing them how to collect welfare and lots of other “freebees” all at the taxpayers expense. There are signs on every wall in several different languages, I suppose so they won’t have to bother learning English. Everyone should remember one thing: None of these people will receive any money from the Government until the Government takes the money from YOU.

Every mayor and council member who voted to give sanctuary to illegal aliens should be indicted and tried for aiding and abetting criminals. I’d a rapist came to your door and asked you to hide him, you would go to jail for aiding and abetting him.

I can’t see a difference. Justice applies to everyone, even elected officials.

It is time conservatives do what the liberals threaten to do, leave screaming! If I lived in a sanctuary city, state, neighborhood I would do everything I could to leave. It is dangerous to be a resident of that place. If LA lost 5,000 taxpayers over their insanity, perhaps they would think twice about continuing the illegal activity of hiding illegals. This cannot continue indefinitely. Eventually, even the liberals will realize what they have done to the ‘livability’ of their community. Let a few of these illegals steal purses on Rodeo Drive or beat the stars up as they drive off their motion picture lots in Hollywood and see what happens. Even with private security following them around they will eventually get robed, or beat up, or worse.

Dolores Adams

It is really disgusting that these sanctuary cities even exist. These illegals don’t really want to be citizens, they want want what they can get.
The sanctuary cities need to be STOPPED.

If Justice was blind Bill Clinton would have gone to jail over Whitewater, or committing perjury, or rape; Hillary would have jointed him over whitewater or her latest email problems as Secretary of State. Governors and big city mayors feel immune from prosecution by hiding behind the shield of “politics”. And just about ALL of these lawless politicians are Democrats who have finally exposed themselves as the un-American criminals they have been leaning toward for years.

Mr. Ed

Thank you Mr. Weber for shining the light of truth about the insanity permeating our country. Please help me to understand this: If the laws are already on the books and in the constitution, would someone please explain to Mr. Ed why our side, and POTUS in particuluar, is allowing these renegade judges to issue bans on all of his executive orders! President Trump is doing exactly what he promised to do and that is to “Make America Safe Again”! So here is the $64,000 question: If he has the law on his side (and he does), and if the constitution permits him to ban countries that are deemed unsafe and laced with terrorists (and he does), isn’t it time for POTUS, and Atty. General Jeff Sessions to politely, but firmly, tell the judges what they can do with their ban! In addition, as it relates to the above article,… Read more »

If these Govenors and Mayors can pick what laws not to enforce. Then why can’t we have a sanctuary city or county for us that don’t want to register our guns?
All of these illegals are law breaker criminals. They all need to be deported.

from the article “They should be arrested for being accessories in the crimes committed by illegal immigrants under their protection?”  That is the question on Dan Weber’s mind.” So Dan are you and AMAC saying unless a ILLEGAL commits another crime, they should not be prosecuted?? They are criminals the second they step foot on American soil, period. I have been saying for a long time that what needs to be done is arrest the mayors of these sanctuary cities for harboring criminals and prosecute to the fullest of the law. Then keep doing it over and over again. Maybe a big sting arresting 10 or so and saying once processed we will be going after more. Have all of this set up and ready to process through the AG and everyone else needing to be involved. If Trump does not do this nothing will change. We are fighting to… Read more »

Apparently there are no laws, rules, or regulations governing Democrats. They seem to be free if any constraints, legal or otherwise.
