National parks showcase diverse ecosystems and provide an enriching experience for all ages. Typically, entrance fees apply to improve visitor experiences and recreation opportunities. At least 80% of the funding from recreation fees stays in the park where it was collected. The remaining 20% may be used to help other parks that do not collect fees, for example. However, to encourage visitors of all economies, and to entice interest in national parks, there are approximately 6 days in 2025 when national park entrance is free to the public.
