A shocking new British government report has detailed the serial abuse of tens of thousands of British girls by predominantly South Asian and Middle Eastern “rape gangs.” But just as horrific was the total failure of authorities to stop the abuse despite overwhelming evidence of violent rape, torture, and intimidation. In some cases, police even turned victims back over to their abusers.

The Rape Gang Inquiry Report’ – an independent survivor-led report into the mass rape and abuse of British girls – was released by Member of Parliament Rupert Lowe on June 16, 2026.

The report identifies almost 19,000 children as sexual exploitation victims in England in one year alone. Investigators believe the actual number of victims over the past several decades could be closer to 250,000.

The overwhelming majority of the rape gang networks consisted of men from Muslim backgrounds – predominantly of Pakistani heritage. Smaller groups were from Somali, Iran, Syria, Turkey, and other Muslim-majority countries. The victims were “almost exclusively white girls,” according to the report.

As Lowe posted on X, “Our inquiry report proves that without a doubt there is an undeniable link between religion and the rape gangs. Islam. As a country, we need to find the courage to finally say so.”

To be clear, those implicated in the crimes represent only a fraction of the overall Muslim population of the United Kingdom. But according to the report, approximately 87 percent of those convicted in group-based child sexual exploitation had “distinctly Muslim names.” Since many were not convicted, the actual proportion of rape gang members from Muslim-majority countries may be closer to 95 percent.

The crimes occurred in at least 149 local authority districts – nearly 40 percent of the U.K. – involving repeated rape, gang rape, trafficking, torture, and forced conversions. Some girls were even trafficked to the Middle East and forced into Islamic marriages. Girls as young as 11 were subjected to serial rape for years on end. Some victims reported being raped by police officers.

In one particularly revolting case, British police officers reportedly returned a young girl to a house where she was being abused and told the men there to “have fun with her.”

The report highlights decades of institutional failure and reluctance by authorities to address the ethnic and religious patterns behind these crimes. Despite police and social services knowing that these horrific acts were taking place, they did nothing to stop them out of fear of being labeled racist.

In one instance, a mother of one of the victims reported being scolded by police dispatchers for being “racist” after she described her daughter’s attackers as “Asian.”

While many young girls reported abuse by gangs of Muslim men to social services, the government did not intervene and instead discussed options for contraception and sexual health – perpetuating injustice against these young victims. In one example described in the report, when a 14-year-old girl approached a British social worker about her constant sexual abuse, the social worker asked her if she wanted to audition for a role in the soap opera “Emmerdale” playing a grooming victim “because of her experience.”

Making matters worse, major news outlets, including the BBC, have failed to cover the story at all. The liberal media’s total blackout on what is undoubtedly the biggest sexual exploitation scandal in the history of the modern West represents a shameful failure to prioritize public safety and hold the government accountable for its grotesque indifference to mass suffering.

In response to the report, Parliament issued a motion to “urge the Government to demonstrate that no consideration of political sensitivity, community relations, or fear of causing offence will ever again take precedence over the protection of children.” However, MPs still have not taken substantive action to address the decades of abuse against their own citizens.

Moreover, there has been no accounting for members of the British government who flatly denied and downplayed the existence of rape gangs in the first place. Just last year, London Mayor Sadiq Khan – the son of Pakistani immigrants – refused to say that the grooming gangs existed.

The situation brings to light the disasters that take place when the government prioritizes “racial sensitivity” over the safety of its citizens.

The British government’s failure to protect young girls is made even more appalling by the fact that it routinely prosecutes and imprisons its own citizens for speaking out against the government online – including criticizing the government’s failure to investigate and dismantle rape gangs.

According to the inquiry, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer let an astonishing 13,000 suspected rape gang members and pedophiles off the hook with only warning letters while he was director of public prosecutions. Meanwhile, British authorities have arrested over 12,000 people for social media posts in recent years.

In one case, a rape gang victim publicly posted on Facebook about her ordeal – only to have police show up and arrest her.

The question now before Britain is what comes of this catastrophic failure to protect the country’s most vulnerable citizens. Will there be justice for the victims? Will there be accountability for officials who looked the other way and actively enabled the abuse? Will there be a broader national reckoning about the implications of importing millions of people from cultures where such horrific behavior is widespread?

How Britain answers those questions will determine whether this is a turning point or just another tragic chapter on its long road of decline.
