Having a holiday gathering? Try these Hawaiian ham sandwiches served on mini sweet rolls.

In a slow cooker, combine the following ingredients:

Cover and cook on low for six to eight hours. You’ll also need:

Place the rolls and pineapple slices on platters for self-serve sandwiches. Or you may prepare the sandwiches by placing the warm ham plus pineapple wedge onto the rolls and serve.

Optional Tips: In this recipe, you may substitute fresh pineapple for canned if preferred. Though the canned fruit is higher in calories as it is typically packed in fruit juice, it creates a sweeter sandwich topping. One may substitute the smaller rolls with larger Kaiser to create 8 full-size sandwiches instead.

Additional Info: Pineapples are known to aid in digestion as they contain fiber. They are also rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and water. The tropical fruit also contains a powerful enzyme called bromelain, which is shown to have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.
