Dear Senator Rucker and Delegate Hillenbrand,
On behalf of AMAC Action, the advocacy affiliate of the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC), with over 2 million members nationwide, including over 12,700 residing in West Virginia, I write to express our strong support for HB 4470 and its companion legislation, SB 905, together the Vote Verification bill.
AMAC members in West Virginia and throughout the country cherish their right to vote, and your legislation provides much-needed transparency and authentication for your state’s election process. The Vote Verification bill would require election officials to publish digital images of ballots and records of cast votes without compromising ballot secrecy. This allows voters to uniquely identify and verify their own ballot in statewide elections.
With the recent stories of elections being compromised in other states, the Vote Verification bill would enhance integrity in West Virginia’s elections and give voters peace of mind as they participate in a process many AMAC members hold as sacred.
Thank you, Senator Rucker and Delegate Hillenbrand, for your efforts to secure West Virginia’s elections and ensure that they are conducted in a free and fair manner.
Sincerely,
Andrew J. Mangione Jr.
Senior Vice President
