AMAC Supports The Laken Riley Act
The Laken Riley Act (H.R. 29) is critical legislation that addresses the tragic and preventable loss of Laken Riley, whose life was taken by an illegal alien released into the United States in violation of federal immigration law.
The bill mandates that individuals remain in ICE custody until their removal from the United States, preventing them from reoffending and continuing to victimize Americans. Additionally, it requires the Department of Homeland Security to issue detainers for such individuals and to take custody of them “effectively and expeditiously.”
AMAC Action strongly supports this legislation which will protect American communities and prevent further tragedies like Laken Riley’s.

AMAC Action Poll Highlights Seniors’ Concerns Over Inflation Reduction Act’s Impact
In a revealing look at senior voters’ opinions, a recent AMAC Action-sponsored poll conducted by ProMark Research underscores widespread concern over the Inflation Reduction Act’s impact on seniors.
800 registered voters were surveyed, and the results are clear that seniors are overwhelmingly aligned on key issues, expressing deep concern over the Act’s impact on Medicare costs, drug access, and green energy subsidies.
Andy Mangione, AMAC Action Senior Vice President, shared his perspective on the findings: “We were on record opposing the Inflation Reduction Act from the moment it was introduced, in some cases forecasting the results of this poll. We look forward to working with the Trump Administration to address the concerns AMAC members and seniors across America have with this bad law.”

January 7 Chapter Meeting: CO-05 Delegate Russ Cotton hosted the chapter meeting and Representatives Scott Bottoms (HD-15) and Ken DeGraaf (HD-22) gave a legislative update and key information from the previous session and what to expect in the upcoming session. The state of Colorado’s legislature following the November elections was also discussed as well as information on how to become politically engaged and effective.
January 9 All-State Meeting: NM-01 Delegate Ramona Goolsby hosted the virtual New Mexico All-State Meeting and several state legislators discussed the 2025 legislative session.
