North Korea and especially China, practice the art of deception as this is the major policy among the hawk leaders in China. They have pleaded that they are a poor nation that will collapse with out America and other nations help economically and sharing our secrets as well with the other nations. They have no problem with stealing what they want to achieve their goals while secretly building up their nation economically, militarily, and as a world leader. They have and will continue pretending and encouraging the USA and other nations to believe that they are, or will be, changing their type of political philosophy while secretly they have no intention of doing so. When they get strong (economical, militarily) then and only then will they reach their goals of rightly regaining their top position in world leadership and evoking that upon the world. China has no intentions of allowing free, unfettered elections even in the smallest of their communities by China’s rules on how elections are run.

All of your comments make sense to me. Too bad you are not in congress instead of the idiots that are there now. Too bad we cannot vote in a whole new bunch, All congressmen and senators who have served two terms or eight years whichever is less should be asked to resign With no benefits and not allowed to run ever again.

Negotiating is dangerous with someone as unscrupulous as Kim Jong Un. Trump thinks he is a great negotiator and his arrogance my be his undoing, and ours. I would much prefer to just launch a preemptive nuclear strike against North Korea killing that fat little prick and turning that country into an uninhabitable radioactive wasteland for the next hundred years. That should have been done the day after he tested his first nuclear bomb, but now is better than never.

I remember when President Reagan met with Gorbachev in Reykjavik, Iceland. A lot of hype and anticipation surrounded that summit. Gorbachev had proposed a mutual reduction of 50% of both nations’ nuclear arsenals, but he insisted that Reagan give up the Strategic Defense Initiative. Reagan said no. The summit quickly ended and the world press probably portrayed it as a failure (I don’t remember), but I didn’t see it that way. Ultimately it was a win for the world and for millions of Eastern Europeans. I think President Trump has the same love of country and calibre of backbone that Reagan had. He knows who and what Kim is and he’s not about to give anything away.

There is no way Little Kim can be trusted. He thinks he will be able to outsmart our Potus, just like his family has been doing for decades. He will NEVER give up his weapons….PERIOD.

This is a remarkable development, but while Kim Jong-un cannot be trusted, President Trump is certainly wise to that and won’t be cutting any slack in whatever “arrangements” he agrees to.

Although I do believe there will be a meeting between President Trump and Mr. Kim, I am not optimistic that we will see the outcome we’re hoping for. It depends on the proximity of economic implosion and how desperate the leaders of North Korea are in bringing relief to its starving population….and they have yet to prove that they care at all for that. Plus, as long as Iran hungers for NK’s missile capability, they will gladly strike up a trade deal that involves Twinkies for technology.

Kim is lying. This is a stall tactic to complete his nuclear weapons program. Communists stalled in 1953 (end of Korean War), stalled in Paris in 1973 (end of Viet Nam war), and are stalling now.

One hardened armour piercing bomb casing filled with cast iron delivered through the roof of Kim’s presidential palace will instill in him proper respect for US military power. The great secret about the North Korean “Wall of Steel” on the North-South Korean border is that most of the weapons don’t work. Pork Chop needs a lesson in Immediate Diplomacy — the best way is with an inert bunker buster bomb coming through his roof. He may be smart enough to know the second bomb won’t be a dud.

The US reponse is simple. North Korea threatened us with ‘nuclear devastion’. We believed you and struck first.

Japan bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 — not December 11.

Where should President Trump meet with Kim Jong Un. How about Vietnam? Show Un, N. Korea, and the world how capitalism has made Vietnam one of south-east Asia’s fastest-growing economies. If Un wants to go down in history as a world leader, here is his chance. After meeting with Trump, he can stop spending resources on nukes and missiles and instead help his people. Give his people freedom and capitalism and a chance to improve their lives and Korea can develop economically just as Vietnam has.

I think it’s already historic in that a meeting is even being discussed. And I wouldn’t trust KJU as far as I could throw an elephant. I suggest that their face to face portion be done via Skype, and not until ALL US personnel being held are released and safely back in the US. We all know how the US fake news media would attempt to make KJU look like a sincere, compassionate negotiator, so I would also ban them (media) from observing any actual dialog. Well, maybe 1 from FOX NEWS, but that’s it. I thought it was a joke when President Trump threw his hat in the ring, but I was sold on him by the time election day came around. I wish everyone would trust him to do the best thing for AMERICA, as I do, and just let him keep on making America great. again.

Kim Jong-in is a wet behind the ears nincompoop. He is afraid of President Trump, and he knows he is in way over his head. His calling President Trump to schedule a meeting was a grandstand play. I look for him to find some excuse to cancel the meeting.

Trump built his businesses through negotiations. He was successful because he knows how to read other people and uses that to his benefit. He is much more adept than most people realize, and I think he likes that people underestimate him. Maybe Kim Jong-un thinks he will get the upper hand, but I think the world will be surprised at how well Trump handles him.

My only concern is the location of the meeting, I hope the setting is a neutral spot to insure neither leader is is in danger of being attacked by an assasination attempt. The basic topics have already been put forth many times already, if a face to face between the two leaders is what gets the ball rolling I am all for it . I am also quite sure Trump won’t take nonsense talk from Kim and the military will be on high alert.

Dictator Kim has shown repeatedly both in his own country and Internationally that he has nobody’s interests in mind but his own, however, to quote Winston Churchill ” Jaw, jaw, jaw is better than war, war, war”. Can’t see how it can hurt, and might possibly help. President Trump is nobody’s fool, Let him try to make a deal, he’s had LOTS of practice.

During the press conference by the South Korean mouthpiece the statement was made that in addition to the agreement by rocket man to cease all tests of missiles during talks, he also agreed the joint military maneuvers by South Korea and the american navies should continue. That statement seems to have been forgotten by everyone, including the media. That tells me that rocket man is serious. I also think the time spent during the Olympics has shown the contrast between the north and the south. I would not be surprised if the talks resulted in an end to the war with a treaty and a unified Korea. I also believe there will be conditions that include regular inspections. President Trump will not agree to anything less and rocket man has finally accepted this in his mind and will agree to that for the sanctions to be lifted, incrementally over time.

I couldn’t agree with any items on the poll. I think Trump needs to keep the gun to this little bandit’s head with the hammer back, and FORCE North Korea to stop their suicide wish for all the innocent North Koreans who have the communist foot on their necks. Trump has far more than enough power to do that, so why waste time on even talking to this little squirt!

I believe he is being duped into going to North Korea in May thus being out of the country at the time when Iran and it’s cohorts attack Israel. I cannot believe that all of a sudden out of the clear blue Kim Jong Un has had an about face in his thinking right along with his being close buddies with Iran And providing deadly chemicals to the Assad regime in Syria to use against his own people. If I had any say about it I would urge President Trump absolutely not to go.

I believe Mr. Trump is a very savvy man with tons of experience with crooked dishonorable men like Un. He has surprised the masses many times before, especially Liberals, & he will do it again. But I also believe he should be given a “word to the wise” about Un’s clever & vicious designs & should be approached very cautiously in a position of strength & confidence like George Washington always did. And that’s why Mr. Trump has all his top advisers, which we pray he listens to continually.

I believe Trump will get results. Taking a hard line with the N. Koreans is what is needed. Trump has a “can do” approach. judging by the number of promises he kept during his first year, I believe this can do approach will make Trump one of the greatest presidents in American history. Watch ans see. Trump 2020!

I would not meet with that psycho POS unless he was behind a screen in an airtight room! He will probably come with a deadly poison on his hand or in his pocket to kill Trump with like he has done with family members. The morons of NK have a very sophisticated biological warfare industry which they sell to the islam idiots in the middle east. Sure hope the security detail will screen the fat little rocket man, really well. Then if he was clean the message of the meeting will be simple-get rid of all nukes in 90 days or we’ll make NK a beach! People always get the government they deserve, so there is no sympathy for the idiot population that allow that POS to stay in power.

Don’t ever forget that poor college kid Otto! They beat him into a freaking pulpfest, then pulled his teeth out and replanted them all in incorrectly within his mouth. That’s just for starters! Put Otto’s picture on the negotiation table in front of little Rocket ? Man! These are demons President Trump is dealing with. Pure and simple. They’re not turning into good guys rest assured. Yes ….and do remember Pearl Harbor as well. I would not put anything past these demons from Hell!

Pray for President Trump and his Art of the Deal.

I am glad this is (MAYBE) happening-but I can’t help but think that, if the President hadn’t spent so much time calling Kim FAT BOY, and ROCKET MAN, and threatening to incinerate N. Korea, this would have happened sooner.

I’m very guardedly optimistic, as long as the talks are in this Country, or, possibly Switzerland, with Secretary Rex Tillerson and his North Korean counterpart present and taking an active part in the discussions, along with top notch interpreters. We should not allow any preconditions such as relaxation of the embargos or any suggestion that such an event will occur as an automatic result of the meeting. The President must have any agreement(s) approved by our Senate. We’re dealing with a very cruel Communist Dictator, one of questionable mental stability, and should never forget it: but a 65 year old truce needs to be peacefully resolved somehow. Keeping our large garrison of GI’s in South Korea is expensive and should be terminated as soon as practicable, but North Korea will have to drastically scale back its military to keep a balance of power on the Korean Peninsula. What do they do with all the veterans who would be released into civilian life ? And the biggest question of all – – how do you verify anything in such a closed society like North Korea ????

What a terrible array of choices. Of course Kim is trying to play Pres. Trump, just like he and his father played Clinton, Bush the younger, and Obama. BUT, Trump is a “professional” negotiator and it is very possible that IF anybody could make a deal with Kim, it is Trump. Trust, but verify!

The “poll” (actually a survey) answers are not mutually exclusive. I agree with all but the answer questioning the time available to prepare.
If a meeting is held, it should be in Seoul (not likely), the “DMZ’s” established meeting facility (not smart), Beijing or Tokyo or St. Peterburg (also not smart), or Geneva, Switzerland (if they are willing to host).

A de-nuclearized, unified Korea presents no imminent military to Japan, China, or Russia. It might represent a potential economic threat. However, when Germany was unified (which I didn’t expect in my lifetime), it took years to absorb the associated costs – as will a Korean reunification.

This is the first administration since 1988 which does have the upper-hand in negotiations. If the North Koreans violate the terms for the meeting or any negotiated settlement, unfortunately, military intervention is the only resort.

A meeting would be very good – I’m sure that Kim realizes the threat to his country if he chooses to push the button and he is smart enough to refrain from doing it. Donald Trump with his expertise on money issues has the ability to compromise with negative leadership and will provide a better relationship with North Korea. The Olympics came at a perfect time and has exposed to Kim the value of good leadership. Donald Trump is for the people – not only in America, but worldwide!!!

I think Kim Jong-un’s intentions are not honorable and he will try his best to mislead President Trump. It’s very difficult to predict what will happen when Kim’s ploys to accomplish his agendas fail. President Trump could be the best deal maker in the world. That doesn’t mean a thing to a madman like Kim jong-un. Elena Tellez has the solution for dealing with unstable, murdering psychopaths. Check out her post.

Wait a minute…..this kitten dictator has been roaring like a lion with his missle program….bragging that he can reach targets as far away as the USA. Now he wants to talk disarmament. What is it that we don’t know?
Pres. Trump is very able to negotiate a deal….but he needs to be fully aware of any lack of determination on his part will be perceived as weakness.
He is not dealing with a regime who is playing with a full deck.
Stability in that region is much desired……but it isn’t going to be easy.

I think President Trunp better have someone to test everything he eats, drinks, or even smells. And, that he should wear gloves and make sure no one touches him anywhere. Remember what Kim Jong-un had done to his Uncle in an airport. All the woman did was touch him and he died instantly! Except for that, I think it is an amazing opportunity for the Korean people, both North and South. I simply don’t trust the North to be truthful.

I didn’t really like the choices for the poll. I believe that Kim is only putting on a face, however, even if remote, there’s that slim possibility that perhaps he can be persuaded to give up his nuclear program, then it would be a great meeting. One can only hope that the North Korean people will rise up and de-throne this mad man. And I agree with Lynda’s remark about the Japanese of 41, be careful when holding onto the tail of a snake.
