Poll Shows Americans Do Not Believe In Big Government, Says AMAC

dan-weber‘For the first time in Obama’s presidency, half of the public says they don’t believe he is honest and trustworthy.’- CNN –

BOHEMIA, NY, Aug 16 – “The Obama administration’s liberal, ‘big government’ agenda is serving to reinvigorate the nation’s conservative base,” according to Dan Weber, president of the Association of Mature American Citizens.

He quoted from a recent, largely ignored CNN report that, he said, shows most Americans don’t trust the president.

Weber said he never thought he’d be using data from a liberal media source to support his association’s conservative viewpoints.  “But here it is—a CNN poll showing clearly that Americans believe big government does not work.”

The survey results were reported by the Cable News Network in June, but it “obviously” did not get much coverage, he noted.

Here’s what the report had to say: “The poll indicates that for the first time in Obama’s presidency, half of the public says they don’t believe he is honest and trustworthy.”  Another important finding was that the president’s disapproval among Independent voters rose from 49% to 61%.

“This by no means ensures GOP victories in the 2014 and 2016 elections.  But it does encourage the growing conservative movement in the U.S.  Conservatives already outnumber liberals in America—by two to one, according to some reports—and the failure of socialist ideologues to foist their liberal agenda on voters, gives the base cause to become more active in the political process going forward,” Weber said.

“It was the community organizers who roused younger voters and it was his unfulfilled promises that won over many Independents in the past two presidential elections.  Indications are that disillusionment with the president’s big government policies and his tendency to rule by regulation may be turning the tide against him.  Thus, it is time for the loyal opposition to present a palatable alternative view of the world that will win voter allegiance in the near-term and long-term future.  All we need to do is stay true to our patriotic heritage and the legacies of our Founding Fathers,” he added.

A British political analyst, Nile Gardiner, perhaps put it best, Weber noted:  “Conservatism is thriving in America today because liberty, freedom and individual responsibility are at the heart of its ideology, one that rejects the foolish notion that government knows best. And its strength owes a great debt to the conviction and ideals of Ronald Reagan, who always believed that America’s best days are ahead of her, and for whom the notion of decline was unacceptable. As the Gipper famously put it in a speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference in 1988: ‘Those who underestimate the conservative movement are the same people who always underestimate the American people’.”

ABOUT AMAC

The Association of Mature American Citizens [http://www.amac.us] is a vibrant, vital and conservative alternative to those organizations, such as AARP, that dominate the choices for mature Americans who want a say in the future of the nation.  Where those other organizations may boast of their power to set the agendas for their memberships, AMAC takes its marching orders from its members.  We act and speak on their behalf, protecting their interests, and offering a conservative insight on how to best solve the problems they face today.

Let’s start impeachment proceedings ASAP against the don’t listen to anybody OBAMA!

Phil

The more a government hands out in freebies, the bigger that government gets because those sucking off the rest of the populace will not throw out Santa Claus! The Obama administration has created an ever growing welfare underclass that is growing exponentially. This welfare underclass is going to keep voting in people like Obama and the liberals so they don’t lose their gravy train. This is going to be difficult to break! If not stopped, our nation is going to collapse in on itself. The stock market is already tanking. More people are losing their full time jobs and their benefits. Our national debt is climbing at a never before seen out-of-control unbelievable rate. Our GDP is at a standstill. We are in serious trouble!

Gary Ross

What I don’t understand is why Congress doesn’t have the guts to call for an impeachment. The investigations are simply a “song and dance” show, and nothing more. Who are they trying to impress? We need action people to save this country, not more hot air. There seems to be something bigger going on behind the scenes, like some other secret society who are really the ones in power.

What wories me is that unless the GOP connects to the mass public on Womens issues and Immigration we could well have another four years of the status quo with the Dems in power .The GOP must wake up to these issues if they are going to win the next election and take the white house back .

Let’s get the 34 States together and get back States’ supremacy and limit the Federal Government to what the Constitution intended. This must be done by grassroots groups. All political parties and Gov’t branches are too corrupt to ever do this on their own. There should be no health care, anti-poverty,education,or housing programs at the FEDERAL LEVEL! Homeland Security, NAS, and IRS SHOULD BE ELIMINATED!

I don’t like anyone telling me what to do, especially the government. Not that I plan to commit any crimes, but I like my privacy and I want to take care of myself. Every so-called social action intrudes on my privacy and my civil rights. Given the tension between civil liberties and public safety, civil liberties should come first. In any event, the government screws up everything it touches, wasting taxpayer dollars which includes wasting taxpayer dollars on frivolous activities, studies, Big Bird in Pakistan, etc. Obama takes more vacations than anyone I know of; if he didn’t want to work hard he should not have run for office. This administration has presided over “fast and furious” gun giving, failure to protect our diplomats in Benghazi, harassing Fox Reporter James Rosen (and many others), and IRS harassment. In fact, everything this administration does is political and not for the good… Read more »

In order for conservatives to take back the government, we NEED a STRONG presidential candidate. We have not had one in the last two presidential election. Our candidates for president have been very weak. We need to be grooming someone now who is strong. Like many other people I’ve spoken to, I voted Republican in the last two elections – not because I was for the Republican candidate, but because I was against the Democrat candidate. There is a big distinction between my statement and simply being able to say I voted for the Republican candidate because I whole heartedly supported his or her candidacy and beliefs and they were the best choice for our country.

IF THE POLL IS TRUE THEN WHY ARE THE DEM’S ALWAYS IN POWER?

we the people, who are the real government.will be in Washington dc on Monday 09/09/13 to protest this unconstitituional government.1st Obama has never proven he is an American citizens.obomas live birth form on the white house internet,is a computer generated layered forgery.2nd obamas social security # belongs to a dead 119 yr old, connecticut person.3rd Obama sent additional throops to afganistan without congress approval.4th Obama sent warriors into harma way,in a veitnam era helicopter, and changed the manifest of people going on that helicopter in the last mintues, and obma never sent a rescue attempt.only one person can give the stand down order, the president.also Obama has all his records hidden/sealed,and spends millions of dollars to keep them hidden/sealed.and he is forcing obmacare which is a tax,and is illegal, and everyone I know, does not want it.and Obama ignored a Georgia supreme court subpoena.think about that for a moment.no one is above the law,but Obama who is… Read more »

The government borrows and borrows, and borrows, and borrows, increasing the National Debt. Ever think about the fact that they only pay about 1% interest on this borrowed money? Now, think about this; they are running the country on the1% interest on this National Debt, thus receiving huge sums of money to spend as they choose, on vacations, golf, lavish life styles, buying elections, screwing off in general, prevaricating to the public, ignoring and trashing the Constitution, feathering their golden nests, giving money away to everyone in the world who starts a little rumble (wars that aren’t called wars, coups that aren’t called coups) and sticks out their grubby hands for a loan and reward from the US government that they never intend to pay back (the winning leaders then abscond with the treasury whenever they get close to getting killed by their people who got shafted, and a new leader… Read more »

It is true that both political parties are responsible for the enormous debt that we are now burden with. How ever it is the responsibility of the people to vote these incompetent people out of office. But if you look at our supposedly
representatives in our government they are the same old incompetent people year after year. The real solution
to the problem is to vote them OUT. Then pay attention as to the record and believes of those people that you
vote back in as your representative. Every American has this responsibility. Remember a neighborhood organizer
with a shady background and no real work experience is not a good choice for anything.

Arthur

And since when is it just the Democrats who expand the government? The Republicans do the exact same thing when they’re in charge. Just look at the Bush years. Duh. And why? Because they’ve been bought and paid for by the same oligarchy that owns the Democrats. The real blame for the ills of this country lies with the ignorant and gullible masses who keep believing the lie that there is actually a difference between Democrats and Republicans.

Gustav

If conservatives are in a two to one majority against liberals as the article asserts, why haven’t we seen a conservative nominee for president of the Reagan caliber lately? Is the GOP so blind or weak-kneed?

Mark

I’m not convinced by any polling regardless of who’s doing it. Frankly, I don’t think this country has any idea what it wants or believes in anymore unless the concern of the day has some direct and immediate personal consequence. Sadly, I think it’s only going to get worse. Decades of progressive indoctrination will for many years have greater impact on an already confused society of individuals long willing to justify their every behavior, ignorance or perversion without accepting any responsibility whatsoever. What’s worse is that government has been hell bent to reward everything except an attempt to do things right and at the same time demonize all who even question what we’re doing. The poor sloth and the corrupt rich have been running this country for nearly 60 years. Their ever increasing stabs and drags on the average American will eventually wipe out what we call the middle class… Read more »

The more a government grows in size and scope, authority and the decreasing ability to successfully resist it, the more tyrannical and dictatorial in becomes. We have a tripartite government with separate responsibilities. The Executive branch is supposed to sign bills into law administer policy and command the armed forces, the Legislative is to consider bills and debate them as to constitutionality and when appropriate , pass them into law for the benefit of the governed, while also acting as a check and balance on the power of the Executive. The Supreme Judicial Court is SUPPOSED to consider the constitutionality of proposed legislation and personal conflicts of a national nature in accordance with prior precedent as established by earlier courts and to do so without politicization. All three branches of THIS administration are failing their constituencies terribly and we are on the verge of losing all generations of Americans have… Read more »

I foresee that if things continue the way they are we will become like Egypt and over throw the government by force, it’s becoming the only option left..

Avah

I am sick of big government trying to tell us what to do, what kind of insurance we must have and how to raise our children. He is wasting our government monies on his own agenda, not on what is really needed in our country. The welfare issue is out of control. I know of people on welfare very able to work drawing welfare who can afford to smoke, have cell phones, but still buy drugs. We need help and we need it NOW! We’re in the process of losing our religious rights and only through God’s grace can we be helped.

CAPT Smith

At the very heart of the belief in small government lies a belief in individual responsibility, putting the good of the family, the town, the state and the nation over one’s own selfish needs, and loving our neighbors as ourselves. At the very heart of liberal ideology lies a belief that one is not responsible for one’s own choices (victim mentality) and that the family, the town, the state, and the nation “owes” us something, therefore we need a big government to be responsible for us all. As a veteran, I have been “entitled” to certain benefits for which I will never apply or expect because my own abilities, capabilities, sense of self-reliance and personal honor would not allow my conscience to sleep well at night in doing so. These benefits and others should be reserved for those in our society who “can’t” not for the many capable out there… Read more »

‘For the first time in Obama’s presidency, half of the public says they don’t believe he is honest and trustworthy.’- CNN – So it ONLY took five years of Obama continuously lying to the American people, on nearly every major issue he has talked about, for a small percentage of the his supporters to begin to doubt their messiah. Why am I not terribly impressed? If you realize that he won last year’s election with 52 percent of the votes (the ONLY real poll that matters in the end people), what you’re saying is that a whole 2 percent of his followers now doubt him. Too little, too late to make any real difference before 2014 or 2016. While it is encouraging that any percentage of people show signs of waking up from their blind adoration of Obama, don’t lose sight of the fact that the next Democrat messiah, Hilary… Read more »
