Perpetual Riot Culture – Why?

riotIf you ask the wrong question, you will get the wrong answer.  Pre-programmed riots are being pushed coast to coast.  They put millions – largely minority communities – in fear, destroying businesses, systematically undermining rule of law.  The question is why?

The answer requires a deep dive.  Emerging is an infrastructure for promoting perpetual riots.  Oregon to New York, Minnesota to Illinois, Wisconsin to Michigan, law enforcement contends with a pre-judgment, preemptive condemnation, malign assumptions, and preloaded violence.  Why?

Missing is context – yet context is vital.  The question is not whether Americans are just people, want accountability for individual bad acts – including when a police officer is responsible for a disproportionate, accidental, or racist act resulting in the death of a black citizen. Americans believe justice should be blind, and Black lives do matter.

The question is not whether individuals err, they do.  It is not whether racism persists in some departments, it does.  It is not whether racism exists among the population, whether unfairness needs addressing, or whether police must be exemplary. But context is essential, big picture vital.  Who is behind these persistent, disruptive, destructive, fundamentally anti-constitutional, anti-American riots?

Start with facts, because – as Ronald Reagan used to say – “facts are stubborn things.”  In 2019, America had 228.24 million citizens and .91 million police officers – less than one officer to protect every 250 citizens.

In that year, 910,000 police officers, responding to multiple murders, assaults, abduction, burglaries, robbery, carjacking, stalking, shooting, stabbing, domestic violence, and traffic calls per day responded in a way that ended in shooting death 1,054 times.

Look closely at this number. The Bureau of Justice Statistics indicates that 61 percent of Americans called police at least once.  If 61 percent of citizens dialed for help, some 139,226,400 citizens had police contact. Most situations involved crimes, yet the ratio of shooting death to contact was roughly one in 132,093.

What is more, blacks and whites called police in near-identical numbers, so black citizens do not fear the police more than whites, and both fear criminals more than the police.  Indeed, crime numbers tend to be higher in urban areas with dense minority populations, possibly elevating the value of police – especially during violent riots.

Another inconvenient fact – police departments in predominantly minority cities have proportionately higher minority numbers, thus the idea that “police” are white, victims not, is not correct.  For example, more than 43.4 percent of Los Angeles’ police force is Hispanic, 11.6 percent black (above population share), 7.1 percent Asian, only 35.4 percent white.

Similarly, in Washington DC, 59.3 percent of police are black (10 percent above population share), 6.9 percent Hispanic, 2.3 percent Asian, 31.6 percent white (below share).  Truth:  Police departments more often reflect demography, bounded by race-neutral job requirements. See, e.g., https://www.governing.com/archive/police-department-officer-demographics-minority-representation.html.

More key data:  Blacks make up 13 percent of the population yet commit 37 percent of violent crimes.  Whites makeup 61 percent of the population, commit 58 percent of violent crimes. See, e.g., https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2016/crime-in-the-u.s.-2016/topic-pages/tables/table-21.

What does this mean?  Several things.  On official numbers, violent crimes are recorded by blacks at three times population share, by whites less than population share.  What does that mean?  While whites overall commit more crime than blacks, blacks have a disproportionately higher likelihood of encountering the police – three times higher – as criminals.  That means, the likelihood of death by shooting is made higher, a product of higher criminal encounters.  This fact is often ignored.

Also ignored:  White criminals are killed by police in numbers rivaling black criminals, more than 500 white criminals in 2020-2021.  Whether the officer was white, black, Hispanic, or Asian, no parallel riots.  Notably, too, those who riot – in places like Portland, Oregon – are disproportionately not black.  Why? See, e.g., https://www.dailywire.com/news/walsh-over-500-white-people-have-been-killed-by-cops-since-2020-there-has-been-no-rioting-over-those-deaths;   https://www.foxnews.com/us/portland-cop-black-lives-matter-protesters-fewer-minorities-than-police.

Last sad fact:  Black-on-black violence dwarfs white-on-black, police-on-black, white-on-white, and any other demographic comparisons.  This tells us the issue is not the police.  Despite increasing diversity in the black population, socio-cultural issues persist, rooted in culture, education, opportunities, and perceptions. Anti-police riots are a deflection. See, e.g., cnsnews.com/article/national/michael-w-chapman/doj-report-black-victims-violent-crime-703-offenders-are-fellow;  www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2021/03/25/key-findings-about-black-america/; www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2018/02/22/5-facts-about-blacks-in-the-u-s/; https://www.heritage.org/poverty-and-inequality/report/the-collapse-marriage-and-the-rise-welfare-dependence.

But get to the guts of the problem – an emerging culture of perpetual riots, pushed with advance planning, mock spontaneity, lofted as racial equality – yet systematically destroying minority neighborhoods, businesses, opportunities, and personal security.

Who is behind these riots?  That is the question.  The answer must, in some ways, come from the process of elimination.  Police are not promoting these riots.  Right wing groups are not promoting them.  Responsible minorities, civil rights, and legal leaders are not pushing violence.  Quite the reverse:  They see the damage being done.

Revealing, the Biden-Harris Administration, leftist Democrats, and media are ignoring the riot culture.  This could be cowardice, ignorance, or complicity.  What we know is that these “perpetual riots” are not being confronted by national leaders, except Republicans, law enforcement, and discomfited minority and majority citizens.

Bottom line:  The radical left is creating a riot planning infrastructure, focused on persistent disruption, not materially advancing racial equality, dialogue, or thoughtful problem-solving.  They are not focused on leading facts, context, or listening. Americans chiefly want a chance for “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,” a chance to get along. The left aims for the opposite agenda, systematic disrespect for the law.  See, e.g., https://www.centerforsecuritypolicy.org/2020/06/04/the-real-history-of-antifa/; https://redstate.com/brandon_morse/2020/09/30/antifa-marxism-biden-n261030; http://chinascope.org/archives/24225?doing_wp_cron=1598938447.1287479400634765625000.

Where does this come from?  Marxist doctrine.  We need to stop being “woke,” and wake up, understand the motivation for domestic violence, start thinking harder about the nation’s future, basic facts, preserving a peaceful Republic.  If this sounds serious, it is.  We must ask the right questions, pay attention to facts, abide the real answers.

People with no experience allowed to vote, no credibility, legal or not, only contributes to society what benefits them, not for the good of USA. Any one under 26 yrs old should not be able to vote,( due to the indoctrination of young minds.) and no one that has come to this country can just vote! period!! unless or until they gained citizenship.
Everyone in the world wants to come to the greatest land!! the” USA”, it SHOULD NOT be so DAMNED easy to get here. JOE BIDEN and his Administration is a DOMESTIC TERORRIST group for what he is inflicting on the people.
My Dad spent 42 years in the ARMY fought and died in the military grip. Joe Biden I`am pretty sure my dad would kick your ass in school, not out back.

It will be interesting to see what all the new immigrants will think about what is happening in America if they are brought in as citizens. Could any of them be “racist”? Maybe there should be a litmus test taken before becoming a U.S. citizen. Could they reshape America? It will take something.

If the American voting public does not INSIST on fixing the voting system, Constitutional governance & democracy will fall to Communism … which has a subtle pattern of the Democrat Party’s governance philosophy. A dishonest voting system ruins a Constitutional one-man — one vote guarantee of out Constitutional governance (the best in the history of the World .. though apparently decaying in current times). FIX the voting system or you have no Constitutional Democracy!!!!

We are REPRESENTATIVE REPUBLIC, not a democracy. A democracy is where the majority rules and the minority have no say. That is what the Democrats want us to be: A socialist democracy grounded firmly in Marxist ideology. All so a few states like California, New York and Illinois, that are the most populous states in the country, would have a virtual lock on power in Washington, D.C. indefinitely.

By the way, I do agree with you about the importance of fixing the voting system, so we do NOT experience the same obvious fraud and manipulation of ballots that we saw both on November 3rd and January 6th. So far most of the proposed solutions I’ve seen put forth are largely ignoring the elephant in the room: The internet linked voting machines, which allow manipulation of vote counts, and the wide-spread allowance for large scale mail-in balloting. If both are not addressed and corrected before 2022, I expect what we’ll see in 2022 and beyond will be more Democrats winning races by “close margins at the last minute”.

‘Fixing’ fake elections? HAHAAHHHHAAAA! Even the SCOTUS failed to rule on a fraudulent NATIONAL election. That ship has sailed, amigo. And fugggitttdabout ‘close margins’ since MILLIONS of illegal aliens will be registered to vote in 2022. Get the picture?

Hi Clark,

I specifically excluded the Supreme Court as part of any solution, because Chief Justice John Roberts already tipped his hand last December when he sided with liberal Justices on the bench out of fear of personal reprisals from BLM and ANTIFA to the members of the Court. As such, I agree that the SC is not an avenue worth pursuing for anything elections related.

As for my “close margins” comment, I think the Democrats will want to give the appearance that they are not overtly rigging future elections, at least for maybe 2022 and possibly 2024, by keeping their manipulated margins of victory in congressional and even the presidential races to just 5 to 7 percentage points. There are a LOT of uninformed and outright brainwashed people in this country who still think Biden actually got 80 million votes by hiding out in his basement for most of 2020 and drawing “crowds” of 10 to 20 people at most of his few so-called campaign appearances.

So if the Democrats were to sweep every congressional contest in 2022 by wide margins, like 20 or 30 points, and then get blow-out numbers in the presidential race in 2024, like 90 percent of the country supposedly voting for Harris, even the completely clueless and brainwashed in this country might begin to realize the new election process allows the Democrats to win virtually any race they choose. So at least for one or two election cycles, until they can disarm Americans and purge our military of anyone in leadership still respecting their Constitutional oath, the Democrats won’t produce the kind of lop-sided wins that are seen in countries like Russia, China and other socialist / communist countries.

By the way, I do expect that the current 40 million illegals in this country will be granted citizenship and vote overwhelmingly Democrat. They already do in most the Democrat run states. I expect the new wave of illegals, once they are taught enough to find the (D) on ballots will do the same. States like California, with high concentrations of illegals, are reliably Democrat for that very reason.

I would like to see numbers on how many white vs. non-white people who were killed by Police were being confrontational or resisting arrest. So many say that they have to teach their children to fear the Police but what they should be teaching them is to do what the Police say and file a complaint later if it’s wrong.

So very true! Too many Americans are no longer willing to fight to preserve their rights and freedoms. So is it any wonder our rights and freedoms are under direct threat of being systematically taken away? Of course not. Most people today expect “somebody else” will do it on their behalf, which today means nobody does anything but complain.

There seems to be no mention of who holds the power currently in this country. Specifically, I mean the Democratic Party. Member after member of that party has verbally incited disorder. Maxine Waters is my prime example and there are others. There is growing power from social businesses like Facebook and Twitter that quell the free speech of Republicans, including Trump. I think we are willing to fight, but when even the FBI is against us, what venue is left open that we are not using?

Americans systematically do not realize what we have. The younger generation, and many older adults, think that we can have all the benefits of freedom that our Constitution allows and the freebies of socialism all thrown in. We are running down a very dangerous road. We all need to educate everyone that we can before the 2022 elections. If “they” win in 2022, it’s all over folks.

Put succinctly … the politicos rationalize this activity and are good news items, particularly for the Commie leaning Democrat Party. Arrest them, try them, and most likely at least some or most will get thrown in jail. However, in advance, legislate strict penal codes and stiff punishments for even first time offenders.

All one needs to do is to spend a little time to take a close look at the “History” of the Democrat Party and I don’t mean to look at what is on their website, I mean dig deep and look at actual history not their sugar coated and edited account of history. One very quickly sees why they want to erase history and change the record, that they have been like this all along, right from the very begining they have done these types of things. This is who they are and how they function. Nothing new here, every thing we see today that seems to be unbelivable and discusting, unpatriotic, evil, this is who they are.

After last year’s continuous riots in democratic cities, I stopped caring about those cities and what was happening in them. The looting, burning of courthouses and municipal buildings, and destruction of minority-owned businesses, my feeling became “it isn’t me or mine that have to live in that mess without services”. If the local population continue to vote in the very people who will not stop this from happening, then they should get what they get. If I lived in a city that allow this, I would move.

Your attitude and response to the cancer destroying our country show a great ignorance of conditions. Due to family obligations and now health, I live less than 20 miles from my birthplace. Over almost 80 years I have seen my world turn upside down. I have watched whites “move” out, as you suggest. A few years later they must move further out. In this section of America, and I expect everywhere else, moving out to avoid one cancer introduces you to another. Our rural areas are being bought up by Muslims. The plan seems to be the destruction of European Civilization and a return to barbarism. We have permitted this by not destroying the human cancer, but inviting it into America and feeding it. If you expect a “vote” to change anything, you really show your ignorance.

I’m sorry you weren’t able to ‘see the writing on the wall’ while you were still young and/or able enough to get out as it’s been happening a step at a time for decades.
I was born and grew up in California in the 1950s and ’60s when it was a beautiful and rationally governed state to live in. I could see where it was heading by the late ’80s and got out in 1991. I moved to Nevada which has now been “Californicated” into a blue state by massive numbers of Californians bringing their destructive politics with them.
Unfortunately, I’m too old and disabled to move again so I’ll just have to endure the changes until I die in a few short years.
It’s the intention of the Democrap Party to “Californicate” the entire U S so there will be NO place to escape to. The importation of millions of illegal alien voters and the passage of H R 1 and S 1 will be the final nails in the coffin of our American Republic.

Isn’t “In 2019, America had 228.24 million citizens” off by about 100 million? Which would mean that 200,226,400 people had contact with police that year. Sorry even though using the additional 100 millions citizens helps the authors cause, I’m not buying these facts. No way did over 200 million people contact police in 2019. No way over 139 million people contacted police if one was to use the authors numbers. I find those numbers too outrageous, I don’t buy it, I would like too, but I cannot.

Said another way, the violence and riots serve the purpose of disingenuous political leaders, lame stream media, and misinformed naysayers who will not listen to balanced arguments of their leaders. Maxine Waters is a prime example of a political leader who twists and turns the truth for her own political agenda. That is disgusting in itself. You certainly cannot call her a leader, but you can call her out for inciting violence. She should be removed from congress as quickly as possible. That might serve as an example to others who take power for their own purposes to the detriment of America.

PaulE

The people in her congressional district just keep re-electing her over and over again. No matter what she says or does. So she won’t be voted out anytime soon. The same holds true for most Democrat members of the House and Senate. Why should she temper her political vitriol, if she knows there will be no consequences to anything she does?

The censure motion, put forth by GOP minority leader McCarthy, failed to get even one Democrat vote in the House. Which is frankly what I expected. Democrats do not punish their own for conduct that would get any Republican tossed out of Congress within a few days. So Waters is untouchable on that front.

Waters does serve as an example to others. Just NOT in the way you nor I would like. She constantly demonstrates that a Democrat can say anything, do anything and be virtually untouchable and unaccountable. That serves to embolden the hard core leftists running the Democrat party to be even more aggressive in their actions, since they know there will be no consequences.

We do have term limits. it’s called voting intelligently. You are trying to fix a human failing, that being human stupidity of large segments of the voting public, with legislation. That will never work, because the very people enacting any such legislation would build in loopholes and work arounds to render any such term limits legislation virtually worthless. People need to learn to make better, more intelligent decisions on whom they vote for, which means taking a more active role in the whole process. Absent that, nothing will change.

We have parallel thinking on this. Yes, many Democrats have been working on perfecting their system of voting. Look at all the big cities and states, they have continually been run by elected Democrats. When I was younger, I learned something about the Democrats (labor unions) that caused me to never vote for them. I have never cast a Democrat vote in my lifetime and nothing about them surprises me at all. If a party can manipulate getting a higher vote count, then immediately demand that that DC become a state, the Supreme Court increase their number and previously try to convince a dependence on popular vote rather than using the electoral college system becomes just the start of their lustful grab for power, then the constitution is under threat of it’s own existence. If this persists, we will run out of options.

Waters has been in Congress a lot longer than Dominion Voting Systems has even existed. Never discount the fact that people who continuously vote for Democrats like Waters are NOT TOO BRIGHT to put it charitably. That the majority of the voters in her district continue to re-elect her decade after decade just highlights the stupidity of her voters. She doesn’t even live in her district and resides in a $6,000,000 mansion. Yet her voters think she shares their values and concerns. What a joke. I call that stupidity on a grand scale.

Only God will determine when ‘Auntie Maxine’ leaves office if you get my drift. (No one gets out of this world alive.) She hasn’t even lived in the district she is supposed to ‘represent’ for years. I believe that it is a requirement in most states but, apparently, not in California.
Why would she care a wit for the interests of her constituents when her actions on their behalf don’t even affect her directly? She acts in her own interest exclusively which is most likely the exact opposite of the needs of the residents of her district.
As long as they ‘choose’ to re-elect her, they will pay the consequences.
